The rural folks of Pamir Skyroad show us her the "unseen" simplicity, warmth and hospitality that is sorely missed in the urban folk around the world. At the same time, simplicity exudes happiness and contentment of course, brings along positive vibes to humanity. Keep our fingers crossed, Pamir folks could persevere and preserve their culture and landscape on the coming of economic change from the Mainland China.
Thanks Yan. Mark Twain once wrote, “Travel is fatal to prejuidce, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts."

Those hair-pin turns are more amazing in your drone shots than in any photos I have seen. The mountainous views and plateaus are so peaceful to look at. Families and children are so welcoming. An amazing place to be. Thanks Yan.
Wow! Filming the long and winding road in this part of the planet is just incredible. Who would think that there's this road that connects several countries in Central Asia? Never in my wildest dream. View of the road from above looks like stairway to heaven - excellent drone maneuver. Sharing this beauty to the world will open to more vloggers to come and see for themselves this unbelievable beauty from nowhere. I always thought this part of Asia is still wild and untouched by modernization - obviously, I am wrong of such thought. I credit the engineer/s and architects who came up with this idea - make a zigzag road out of mountain slope - brilliant! They made the road so stunning, curvy and beautiful from a drone's perspective - thank you for taking me along. Motorbike safely.
@@HTeo-og1lg You said, "in those days" - when was this road constructed? Looks pretty newly built. Road is really an amazing sight from drone's perspective.

I am from Afghanistan, Badakhsh province where the Wakhan Corridor is located. I couldn't imagine the lifestyle similarities between Tashkurgan and Badakhshan. Another fun fact, we also have a city named Tashkurgan in Northern Afghanistan. About the Corridor I should let you know that there something unexplainable about it, all I can say is that there you find PEACE.
Thank you very much for this beautiful video.
所有风景与所有的人都似曾相识,又像久别重逢。你的声音和你的情感伴随着这些画面,深深地嵌入我的记忆并与它融为一体。相信很多观众与我有同样的感觉。 感谢你,I am proud of you!
I feel the stench of communist propaganda. All lies. She's a government stooge
At the end of the vidio, green grass dance in the wind, colorful children running at the valley, with the snow mountain in background, with the background music, I am in tears. at the end of the day, I hope I will die there.
Everytime I hear you speak, I can hear the Shanghai tone in your voice. My relatives are from Shanghai and I love the way they speak English, just the same as you. It's such a beautiful tone. So much BS, you work for the CCP propaganda dept. Shame on you
Wow thank you so much for these videos, i am learning a lot about China through your content. The Tajik kids have names similar to old burusho names in Hunza, Pakistan. And those caps females wearing, they are nearly similar to what my grandma used to wear. Despite the high mountain walls the culture still managed to pervade in the valleys albeit with different hues. Thanks again for sharing your journey. Keep em coming. Love from Gilgit, Pakistan
Because before 1947 there was no made up country Pakistan. These people are old and originally from Badakhsan region of Afghanistan and Tajikistan.

Hi Yan, I can only say your unique footages can only be matched by your bravery! I am sure a lot of people are hesitant to go where you have been even with escorts. That road is insane but must be preserved forever! Things happen for a reason. Places and people exist for a reason And you are the reason!, Thank you. Catch you in the next.

The Pamir Skyroad with numerous hair-pin turnings are really amazing civil engineering feats. Ms Yan, thank you for taking us and sharing this wonderful journey with us.😍

This is what adventure is supposed to be. You are blessed: amazing people, stories, landscapes. The earth is a beauty!
Did she mention how the CCP is systematically obliterating the local culture. Dude she's a CCP stooge
The host family for your tea and naan bread is so beautiful with their hospitality. The boys are adorable and they are so opened to share their lives with you. You are a truly blessed traveler!!
I greatly appreciate your video presentations of the Chinese countryside. You present it with the point of view of a curious traveler for everyone to see and it helps with your excellent command of English. It is heart warming to know that people you meet in those far away places are welcoming, kind and they open up to you so well. Those border villages are truly beautiful and the geography is spectacular. It gives us on the outside a positive view of rural China. Your hard work and dedication contribute to goodwill and understanding. Thank you for what you do!❤

希望你也保留了你祖先的原始生态和文化,不要过上现代生活😅

Thanks Yan.
Thanks! 看了几年你的视频,非常喜欢!

The engineers must have anticipated the arrival of DJI drones when they designed the road back in those days!🤣🤣
@@HTeo-og1lg You said, "in those days" - when was this road constructed? Looks pretty newly built. Road is really an amazing sight from drone's perspective.
@@loriechilson925 The road was paved with asphalt in 2019
@@olymchen3805 The road was paved in 2019 - pretty new. Silk road continues, the path is improved tremendously, the only problem that hinders the fast advancement of the people in this area is the non-stop threat from the governing body of different countries - what a shame!

The Sky Road is also a masterpiece, connecting the folks in remote area to the world. Imagine how much work people had to put in to build the road especially when they were very poor and backward in engineering, yet it carries great value in humanity.

Hello, Indonesian here. Couple of years ago, i read a book of Indonesian writer named Agustinus Wibowo, studied in China then he travelled to mongolia, to south asia to central asia. Ive always fascinated by silk route story since i was in junior high. I was glad i found agustinus's book. When i found your channel, i was super excited, because i got to see the visual (film) of places Agustinus mentioned on his book. Subscribed and shared your youtube account to my friends.
What beautiful countryside. How lovely is that.
I remember when about a year or so ago you learned to drive and got a scooter to help you with going around markets and small villages. Look where you are now: riding a scooter at Pamir, the "top of the world." What a fascinating - and more than a little frightening - place this is; I cannot imagine how this desolate, dry, Martian-like terrain looks like in the (9-months long?) winter.
Beautiful everything and you. Thanks for all. Looking forward to more.
