This guy, Mel Blanc, Treg Brown, Jay Ward, MGM and Hanna-Barbera (as well as Hollywoodedge and Horta/Hacienda Post) have the best *goofy ahh* sound effects I've ever heard.
I would add Joe Henrie, who did the sound effects for the Three Stooges shorts…..
The credit for the sound effects in Jay Ward shorts belongs to his film editor Skip Craig.
(Did I forget someone else? They had a wonderful sound collection, mostly known for a screeching number four sound.)
@@kootunesscrewy I'll get back to you once I go to the library and check the book on it.
@@kootunesscrewy Oh yeah. Roger Donley. Of course, most of the sound mixing in Rocky and Bullwinkle and Hoppity Hooper was done in Gamma Productions in Mexico. Craig was mortified about the idea that people would read the credits and think he's to blame for the poor mixing and dubbing. But he did all the sound editing for Dudley Do-Right.
Jimmy's got a nice voice. That's cool that he was born in Scotland! It's amazing that he was even a drummer.
1:07 Used for Lambert the lion, Lumpjaw the bear, Shere Khan the tiger (growls & roars), Brutus & Nero the crocodiles and of course Bruno's growl at 11:41
Did you know that in Ralph Breaks the Internet, they re-used audio from Cinderella for Jaq and Gus' cameo appearance, so it's Jimmy voicing the characters there.
And also, they reused Jimmy McDonald’s sound effects in “My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic” for the most part of the series.
@@Musicradio77Network Really? Didn't know that.
@@timlemmens1087 In out of all of the episodes, the sound of the horse running were first used in “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” were provided by Jimmy McDonald, but it was reused in “My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic” throughout the entire run of the series. For example, there was one in “The One That Pinkie Knows”, Pinkie Pie exploded into pieces and the “Pop” sound was heard, and it was the same sound that Jimmy McDonald was used in all of the Disney animated features and shorts were reused in “The One That Pinkie Knows”.
@@Musicradio77Network Did they have to get permission from Disney for that?
@@timlemmens1087It was Sound Ideas where they have a massive collection of sound effects with a collection of sounds that were made by Jimmy McDonald.
Hasbro was the one that gave permission to use whatever they want with a mix of Hanna-Barbara and Jimmy McDonald sound effects together, but it’s just a random mix.
Love this man's mustache. :)
Your videos are outstanding! Thanks so much! 👍
He was born in crewe, not dundee
the foley artist is a necessity in every film......and disney had one of the best here.
Actually it was sneezy’s voice, Billy Gilbert who did the sneeze
