I have an autistic daughter who struggled alot in her first couple years as she grew and could talk. She had a very hard time communicating. I started doing Mickey's voice with her tiny plush mickey. It was the biggest turn around for her. She learned to communicate through playing that way and me doing the voice. I keep seeing people say it's messed up that Disney didn't pay for his flight. However, I think it was more so because he wasn't supposed to be in the audition. The email was sent out to their internal studio/employees, and they were surprised when a non-Disney employee popped up out of the blue. So I think it was more like - okay, we'll let you continue the audition, but you need to fly yourself out.
I know it seems ridiculous, but the entire audition was set in California. Meaning, that all the people trying out were LA-based. If any of us applied for a job in another state, they would require us to fly out. Also, the Disney Voice Actors group is not the same as Disney the multi-billion dollar company. They are a small division, with a limited budget. They are employees under the Disney Corporation.
So they would have had to tell the parent company they need money to fly this random non-employee guy out, and Disney might have said no or been angry an outsider was even in the audition, to begin with. If you look at it from that POV, they actually did the guy a favor. Other companies would have just cut him from the audition there and then. But they liked his talent so much, that they wanted to give him a chance despite him not being eligible for the audition.

Okay I can’t really do the Mickey voice but here is what made me most successful
1.allow your voice to be high pitched slowly don’t strain yourself to be as high up as Mickey right away
    2. Keep a steady voice. Not quite sure how to explain it but don’t freely speak high pitched. Control your voice.
    3. Most people who are reading this are not looking to voice Mickey big time probably not even anybody so my suggestion is to try to say “Oh boy!” Or things in his regular voice because when it comes to emotions it will be hard to rework your voice to the emotions and might even lose track for how to do a simple “Oh boy!” Learned from experience
    Hope this helped!

How does it feel to have sold your soul to the devil for a few dollars on Earth? You are an eternal being a soul a spirit and a body. Your eternal spirit is connected to God unless you sin and continue to sin unrepentant. Disney promotes sex with children. Disney promote satanic worship. You can't unread this so now you know

He’s definitely the best Mickey Mouse voice. I can do a very well Mickey Mouse impression, as my sister has down syndrome and absolutely loves the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Now my son is addicted to it, so sometimes I’ll just speak like Mickey and he turns to look at me then the tv and then me again with confusion. 😁

I was so used to Wayne Allwine growing up, so starting Kingdom Hearts: BBS for the first time, and hearing this unfamiliar Mickey voice, it threw me off. Same goes for even just the yelps and sounds he made in Epic Mickey soon after. But over the years, he has really grown on me, and come into his own as one of the greats. Thanks for all the years of hard work Bret, carrying on the legacy of the mouse, you've done a truly fine job.
