      Jack Bauer I second this technique request! There's so many applications of Judo that we're starting to see in MMA now. It started with Karo proving that you can easily do Judo throws without a GI and in an MMA setting and Ronda having a fully integrated the Judo game into MMA. Not just simple throwing but complete strategies and setups revolving around a Judo game.

    1 vote for keeping the channel diverse. so refreshing to see this level of clarity in areas other than jiu jitsu. You're bringing the scientific learning method of jiu jitsu to all the martial arts. keep going!

    i never comment on videos, even ones i like; but every time i see one of your videos it's always the most solid and successfully applicable technique i come across and it's always a really useful problem solver from a common position. i just wanted to give you props for the outstanding instruction and choice of what to show. bravo Firas and tristar, keep up the great work

    Firas, I'm a huge fan of all your vids, thank you immensely. For this particular video, I would be concerned for my knees in a self defense situation (landing so hard on concrete etc) is there a variation with less downward impact, or, am I misunderstanding how hard the landing is?

    • @CoachZahabi
      @CoachZahabi  9 років тому +4

      ShinkaTV If I was on a very unforgiving surface I would not jump down to my knees I would just simply level change by dropping into a squat. thanks for liking!

    Merci beaucoup pour tes video Firas, c'est extremement utile :-) j'ai une petite question, est ce qu'il y a une variation de cette technique pour le street fight, parce que c'est risqué de tomber avec les genoux sur le béton. Encore merci , keep up the good work boss, and congrats for the rory fight, that was awesome, a true warrior and future champion for sure, cheers from Tunisia :-)

  • @raulmunoz469
    @raulmunoz469 9 років тому

    Could this be an alternative penetration method for entering into a sweep single leg takedown? The traditional one entails banging the knee outside the nearest foot of the counter wrestler coupled with pivoting with the same knee into a perpendicular angle to the opponent. Almost at the same time, one must be grabbing the leg of the rival with both arms tightly with one's back straight and side of our head pressed to his hip. Then from there one must drive into the other wrestler in a motion that enables to lift the opponent's leg with ease. I think this might work just the same and in an easier manner, especially with tie-ups. I don't know if it could work on a hands free, no contact situation.

  • @1981ilyha
    @1981ilyha 9 років тому

    Hello Firas. Does this takedown works if opponent grabs the shoulder from underhook? Holding the shoulder not the body grants much more control and many fighters prefer to hold shoulder from underhook.

  • @nadhilgoguma
    @nadhilgoguma 9 років тому +2

    awesome, iirc isnt this takedown is the one that dom cruz had so much success with?

    • @CoachZahabi
      @CoachZahabi  9 років тому +2

      nadhilgoguma Cruz hit the knee tap often. I do it in the highlights of the video but that is not the move being broken down.

    • @keitharmijo6602
      @keitharmijo6602 9 років тому

      Tristar Gym Do you think Dominick Cruz's style would work for a bigger weight, 155 and above or does his style work because the little guys have gas in the tank constantly?
      Also, I know everyone is asking for technique on different things, but it's greatly appreciated how you break things down. You don't just make it a brawl, you turn into a chess match and his lit a new fire of wanting to learn more under me. Thank you for giving us this, I can't imagine a greg jackson or any other elite gym showing these techniques. This is mginaction but for jiu jitsu/mma/street.

    Dear coach,we dont recommend both knees on the ground.He can push you and you will risk falling on your back since you have weak support.The way we teach it is keeping the left leg(trail leg) up and the right knee on ground.This left leg will help you to have firm support,firm post.In this way you can get up fast and resist his force if he pushes you forward.The rest was great.Thanks for all your videos.God bless.

    Hey coach i just want know that is one inch punch the Bruce lee one really a knokout punch in MMA too or it only working in movies, second i am too stiff my coach says that stretching yourself because the more your kick cover the distance the most it become powerful it is physics, can a kick can be powerful without stretching ??? You mma guys got this whole grappling thing wrong. Wrestlers dont pummel in a real fight. They get their hooks and try to trip/throw IMMEDIATELY. There aren't any takedowns in mma that a seasoned wrestler hasn't already seen/defended successfully.

    • @robconlin3088
      @robconlin3088 6 років тому

      3 laws to take down defense. Head, hands, hips. All you're lazy partner had to do was keep good head position, downblock, and sprawl. Do it LIVE.
