    4:24 ahh. I see why he was able to escape knee on. Senpai's left leg was bent and not providing opposing force. It's just as the instructor warned about during the introduction of knee on belly positioning. I'm getting quite a lot out of this playlist. Im so happy to see someone who pauses and rewinds to really send home the lesson for the viewers. Tight work. 👏

    john danaher must be an amazing instructor. i mean simply all of his blackbelt students are an evidence for that. it seems like you guys (you, gary, eddie, gordon) bring jiu jitsu to a complete new level. its a really intelligent and thought trough style. if you look at the leglock game for example, nobody could hang with gary tonon and eddie cummings so far, not even known leglock masters like imanari, bodycomb, marcin held (and they trained leglocks much much longer). but its much more then just the leglock game :). it is so amazing to train an art that evolves in such a crazy pace, please keep up the brilliant work!

    I love knee on belly, and this shotgun transition is cool, but the real gem was the transfer to the back after they roll - I was totally doing the too-high mistake and have been accepting neon to side control as an "unavoidable" compromise.
    stoked to try this!

  • @stefanoviviani6064

    Hi Firas. I'm a white belt, so my question may not be the smartest one: what if my opponent try to sweep me locking my right arm (preventing me to post) and rolling toward is left side? Thanks. Your videos are awesome. Thank you very much for the time and dedication!

    • @caius6019
      @caius6019 9 років тому

      well if your arm does get locked he shouldn't be able to roll anyways but if he is capable posture a bit and be ready to use your left leg to base. also if they reach that much to wrap you up you should be able to armbar the hell out of at least one of their arms. you could transition to mount also. plenty of options

    Thank you for this teaching. I have a question about position seatbelt in video at 5.10. When Im in that position I like grab behind the right side of the neck with the choking arm. Do you think its a good choke and is there any danger to lose position. So you re choking him with one arm while the left arm is under his armpit. I would like to hear what you think.

    when he rolls into you and you transition to the back it seems like he can get to his knees into turtle and do a front shoulder roll to recover guard. Im assuming youre going to have to get an underhook mid transition to the back and then drop low or is this a matter of what ifs lol???

    arm triangle is so hard to really get cause it is too easy to defend. literally just shrugging a shoulder and escaping the shoulder (doing baby bridge) makes it extremely hard to finish the armtriangle... unless you are far stronger than the opponent

      +Veritas Good question! Maybe not just how to place it, but also how to get in that position anyway

    • @kurtkrienke2956
      @kurtkrienke2956 8 років тому

      yes it is. As a general rule of thumb, imagine your knee right in the solar plexus with the shin going right along underneath the floating ribs. This allows dor some serious pressue, I have people tap from that alone from time to time, especially when I pull myself into it grabbing his neck and far shoulder. What you do not want to do is place your shin too close to his hips and perpendicular to them.
