Because the one that has the insane voice doesn't sing much in English. He is German and most of his songs are in German. The Giant Rooks do sing a number of songs in English though.
Probably cause both bands are german and not really known outside of the german speaking countries.

I remember this song growing up, but this rendition by these guys is bad ass, love it more than the original! This song is stuck in my head!
I liked it very much. The group harmonized very well together and interpreted the song in a whole new way. I could well imagine hearing this music live in a club or a bar, that would fit very well. 😄

It's Milky Chance, they were(/are?) quite successful internationally actually. Just look at UA-cam for their most successful songs a few years back. Maybe it rings a bell...
Aaaaanyhow! "Can't get you out of my head" with Parcels is by far my favourite of their covers.
So sweet, the huge smile when they started up at the end. Beautiful. That's what music can do for you, especially power like these guys.
AnneMayKantereit are amazing, they have so many great songs like Barfuss am Klavir or Pocahontas. Henning May (the lead singer) had some features e.g. Juju - Vermissen or KIZ - Hurra die Welt geht unter.
Maybe your German is well enough to understand the lyrics without translation =)

Every once in a while I come here to listen to your reaction. And everytime I feel sorry for the first guy that sings, because you are so amazed by him and then the second guy starts... and there's a pitty stare... It's ok to fall in love with Henning, when he starts singing ... ;) Actually a very nice guy! I met him and heard him singing from time to time - quite a long time ago. He still was a street musician back then! :) I always like (and loved) his voice and singing! You can't go wrong with AnnenMayKantereit! The song is a cover of Suzanne Vega's Tom's Diner (1987).
This is a collaboration of two German bands: In the first room AnnenMayKantereit are playing and Henning May (deep raspy voice) is their singer. And in the second room Giant Rooks are playing, Frederik Rabe is their singer. A little later AnnenMayKantereit join them. The guys of AnnenMayKantereit are the older ones.. AMK does mostly German songs, Henning can also sing without that rasp, his voice is amazing, but I like Frederiks voice even more. Giant Rooks do English songs, even though they are Germans as well. One reason why I love Frederiks voice is their cover of Life On Mars (David Bowie): ua-cam.com/video/slIG7Aes7DM/v-deo.html. And my favorite original song of Giant Rooks is Nightingales Of The Walled City: ua-cam.com/video/4u5pPzAq0i0/v-deo.html . It is a live performance because they haven't released it.

What I find interesting is most people are stunned by Henning May's voice, the second singer, and miss how both singers sing each note. Frederik Rabe of Giant Rooks is the first singer, he is nothing to sneeze at either.
