😂 Oh mannn, my old "screen name" for AOL (a little different from AIM) was JerkfaceWL. My dad called me that once as a joke, I was so confused, I added the WL (my home town) and just went with it. Haha

Just a friendly reminder that we shouldn’t mock somebody else’s accent. It enforces prejudice, racism, xenophobia, and classism. Unfortunately, even if you have no bad intentions, somebody can perceive such "jokes" as offensive. It is possible for people to develop anxiety and feelings of insecurity about speaking if others commonly joke about their pronunciation. People can internalize the stigma about their own accents to the point where they hate the way they speak.
