Heck yeah!! I just ran a Lord of the Rings game!! Been thinking about drawing a new map of Middle Earth!
Would LOVE to see that. A more stylized middle earth map would be so cool!

I used to attempt these maps but on hex grid back in my Moldvay days. Now I just make a general list of features and connect them through a point crawl. Still... Maps are fun just as an exercise. The process and the materials really don't matter. It's how the mind gets to wander through these spaces as you put them into being. Anyway, really fun video.

i like the moutains and hills. the marsh was a nice tip too. i like the pencil drawing of how to lay it out and then go back and finish the finer details. great video!

Great stuff, as always. I like your map better because the red ink distinguishes the lettering from the black ink you used to detail the mountains, forests, etc.

How do you get rid of the pencil lines after you are done with the ink? I saw there were still some showing when you started with the ink but in the final version the paper looks clean!
I like to use white vinyl erasers. They are great at knocking out pencils.

All those names.. its so crowded
