Finally a reviewer who actually talks about the handlebar & seat. I have a '23 Chief Bobber that I put the Sport chief fairing on and now want to put the Super's seat and handlebars on for more comfort.
Thank you! I'm about 9500 miles on the stock seat. I find it comfortable, but considering a gel insert. I'm not quite ready to go Saddlemen just yet. I ran just over 330 miles today and had no complaints about the seat or my rear end getting tired.
Great review! I agree it's a very smooth ride with tons of power and as you said "power to spare". Better be careful in sport mode. It can come out from under you real fast. I ordered my Super Chief Limited Black Metalic last week. Can't hardly wait.
Thank you, Gary! Yes! Sport Mode I am still trying to get nailed down. It is super twitchy, so I don't use it for stop and go travel. I'll use it in areas where I have runs in-between corners just to get me all giddy😂 I'll use Standard or tour for highway travel. I am waiting to place my order for the Stage 1 intake and exhaust. I know there is a long wait. The wait is worth it for this bike. Congratulations!
I work at a Motorsports/Indian Dealership. During "Bike WeeK" we had nearly 80 Harley Davidson trade ins for Indians. Many of them are gorgeous and immaculate HD's. Limited, customs, Dynas, fully loaded glides etc. Whatever Indian is doing, they are doing right. Keep the Shiny Side Up!
Congratulations! Enjoy it! I raised the bars about an inch. I felt stock was too low. I'm 5'10" I did lift up the rear a tad bit too. If you notice it bottom out when you hit a bump, that will be your fix. Easy to do with the spanners. I used a caliper to make sure my measurements were equal on both sides. You'll need to remove the saddle bags. Pretty easy. I'm glad I did because I found some really loose bolts. Blue loctite to the rescue!
Great video!! I put down a deposit on a Chief Dark Horse three weeks ago, waiting patiently for it to arrive. Your video made me a little less patient - I want it now!
Hell yeah! This was the only Super Chief I could find in the northeastern Illinois area. 75 miles away! The closer dealer near me had one dark horse, but it may be gone now. Great bike! Now I just have to wait for parts to become available so I can upgrade to stage 1🤘
I purchased a Super Chief Limited in Black added air filter ordered Dean Speed slip on exhaust heated grips and upgraded headdress floorboards LOVE this bike
The Dean Speed slipons will be my Christmas present for myself! Definitely want to get the heated grips too. For the Stage 1 filter, does your knee rest against it or is it high enough out of the way? Glad you are loving it!
Good review, great bike. I'd like to buy one too! Hey JD, you can choose a better background music for your video, ie softer, quieter. OR better yet... You don't even Need background music when riding and walk around. We want to hear the bike and your voice, both of which are much easier without background music. Awesome review bro.
Holy shizmatiz that bike is 🔥🔥🔥🔥 I know how you feel about the sportster. Great review. I might be heading to Indian this weekend to have a look at that 🤣🤣 great review and sexy ass bike
CONGRATULATIONS!!! I think I heard some giggling! No, I did hear some giggling! Did you say it spooned your ass?? 😂 Really happy for you! Stay safe and ENJOY!!! 🏍️👍💜
It really was a love at first ride! These were all my true to life reactions. I still love the bike. I'm that guy in the winter who peeks in the garage just to stare at it. Need some of that warm southern sun this way! Thanks for watching, Eric! Wally
Late to the party but congratulations! That bug did bite me hard and I was sooo close to buying one. If I didn't already have my scout and put so much money and work into it, I would have traded it in for the chief dark horse for sure. I'm too sentimental of my scout to let it go, so I opted for a touring bike so I'll have some more options in what and how I can ride vs two bikes that are similar in terms of function and style.
For me, I have old leather bags on my 79 Sportster, which was my only comparison. It's all perspective for me as I never required much space as I carried tools, spare gas, zip ties and Slime for a flat tire. This had more space than that, so it was plenty for me.
what a beauty she is hope you ride safe and enjoy every moment, just one question isn't the speedometer model digital from chief darkhorse model and up?
Thank you! Yes. It would be on the Super Chief limited. I felt the extra bump to 116 from 111 and the extra tech was unnecessary for my needs. It would come in handy if I had an audio system if I choose to move up to the big bagger with audio and all the gadgets.
Did you test ride the Harley Davidson Heritage before choosing the Indian? Other reviewers have said that they prefer the Harley. Just curious and thank you for sharing your experience. Enjoyed watching.
Thank you for watching! I did rent a 2018 Softail Slim for a weekend. From what I had learned, the frame, the engine, suspension were identical, but the heritage had a bit more add ons. I have heard the heritage had a much better seat. Why I didn't choose a heritage? The styling wasn't exactly me. I'd do additional changes, making the cost of a heritage outweigh the cost of the super chief. When I outgrow the Chief, it's going to be fun comparing again!👍
I ride a Harley Forty-Eight and I love it, but when the time comes to upgrade and do something bigger Indian is very interesting for sure, especially as I have a dealer close by compared to HD.
I have been using the rear cylinder deactivation feature. So far, works pretty well. I was used to riding my old Ironhead Sportster, and learned how to mitigate the heat. With the Indian, I tend to use my legs like air scoops to direct the wind inward towards the seat, helping a bunch with keeping me cool.
Man its my dream bike and saving money for it, it costs almost 25 lakhs in INDIA including registration and all. I don't know when I will be able to buy it but I will one day. At present most of my income is going in to house loan repayment. Need to close it first , then will save all money for this bike.
Hi there. No, it does not. With more modern technologies available, i.e.ECU, fuel injection, etc., a simple push of the button fires up the 1,811 cc motor with ease.
I'm literally in the same boat as you were - looking for a cruiser. Had my heart set on a 2021 HD Sport Glide as I love the looks. Test rode it and it handled surprisingly well but don't think that rear brake works lol. Did you ride Sport Glide at all? How's the HD 107 compare to the Indian 111?
My buddy has a 2016 Sport Glide. It rides nice but isn't my style. The 107 to the 111 - you can tell a difference as the 111 just feels a bit more "torque-ee". The gearing also seems to play a factor. The HD had gears you knew what to expect and seemed you rarely would use 3rd and 6th. The Indian, 1st gear gets really short usage because you can hit the limiter easily. I'm learning that it all takes finesse. Plus side on the Indian is the throttle / Ride modes. All useful. The HD was the flick of the wrist.
@@JunkyardDadski You sure you're not thinking of the Street Glide as the Sport Glide came out in 2018? Regardless, the Softail Slim is the same engine so any comparisons you can make there? Thx
Oh yeah, you're right, my bad. Still a comfy bagger. Yep, the slim is the HD comparison. I rented it for the weekend. For me, it was uncomfortable. The footboards just seemed off set and the seat was uncomfortable and hard. Suspension was a bit rough and my rear and back was sore after the weekend. Maybe it is made for a smaller person and I'm not saying it's a bad bike, but the slim was not for me.
Thanks! I am getting about 150 miles plus per tank before I decide to fill up. On more relaxed rides, I could almost reach 200. The bike days I am getting an average of 44 miles per gallon.
@@JunkyardDadski thanks friend..another question. What do you think about this Indian model? Is it reliable? Is the Indian brand good? Did you show any flaws?
@@josecarloscaselis8021 From what I have learned from others on Indians is that they are indeed reliable. With 1800 miles now on the bike, I have not had any issues whatsoever. Those who have purchased Victory and Indian Machines (all under the Polaris company) have nothing but good things to say. I feel pretty confident in the bikes quality and reliability thus far.
That bike is absolutely beautiful! Congrats! I sat on one a few weeks ago and I can’t wait to ride one! Great video!
Thanks Smitty!
CONGRATULATIONS!!! This is why we don't do test rides, we know it will empty the wallets. BUT definitely fills the soul!!! Miles and smiles for you!

"Rode it home that very day", you had me laughing! Super nice ride, exactly the model I would choose to compliment my Road Master.
Road Masters are nice but I didn't want to tease myself! I'll wait some time before I start looking for the big poppa!🤘
Sopping tends to get a reaction as well
I rode one and ordered mine yesterday. I can't wait!! Congrats
I like the analog gauge better too.
I wear a polarized visor or sunglasses typically and typically cannot read LED screens.
Congrats on the new bike. I'm a fan of Indian bikes, they look really nice.
Such a night and day difference to a Harley.
