    I'd be interested in hearing your take on the social ramifications of Apple Vision Pro. It seems odd to imagine people walking around with these on and never seeing their eyes or facial expressions. Like we are almost creating cyborgs. I never hear anyone talking about that part of it.

    It’s funny. I had the complete opposite experience when I hooked up my MacBook. I was blown away that the mouse cursor can now be used on my MacBook or anywhere in my spatial apps or iPad apps floating it was insane. But I think it makes more sense to have the mouse work on the Vision Pro as opposed to Vision Pro work on the computer

      This makes sense. I wish I just had the option at least 🤔

      Yea that sounds super cool you can use your trackpad if you connect your MacBook on everything hopefully? Hard to beat a trackpad/mouse for controlling things. But I can also see why someone would prefer not using a mouse if they could. Sounds like it should be an option just like hopefully allowing more than 1 Mac screen in the future too. The more options, the better. Especially when trying to use something as a computer.

      Were you using a mouse or a trackpad? I haven't been able to share my pointer across AVP and the Mac with a mouse, but a trackpad does work.

      That's what I mean! It's hard to quantify to others the value of these super luxury experiences. They're so hard to explain and really just something that needs to be experienced.

      @@VRwithJasmine Absolutely! I remember CES 2011 where they were pushing 3D TVs but they never really took off. 3D makes perfect sense in a headset however. I buy a lot of movies from the iTunes Store and it was such a nice surprise to see a few dozen titles just waiting there for me to watch in 3D. Avatar, Gravity, Point Break, etc. So trippy to watch.

      Thank you! So many comments about Quest 3 vs. AVP on this video, too. That comparison is next. They are NOT the same and one is not necessarily better than the other, too. I wish people could appreciate each product as what they're intended for and not always try to compare.

    Great video. The biggest use case the keynote showcased for the Vision Pro by a wide margin, was productivity. Games, they barely mentioned. Just a couple of weeks before that, other manufacturers presented VR headsets heavily focusing on games. They also brilliantly centered the Vision Pro around always being in control, present and in touch with the people around you. It wasn’t until I heard the criticisms of dystopian, isolating technology that it made sense. For the most part, It was a topic oddly ignored by the media in discussions of the Occulus and Quest devices. This was a very knowledgeable video. I feel bad for specialized tech people like you, because of your understanding of the current technology out there from all manufacturers. Uninformed, “normal” people are accusing people like you of “misleading” or overstating the Vision Pro. I hear you guys CONSTANTLY contextualizing the Vision Pro, always including “compared to other headsets” that I apologize for all the jerks out there who don’t listen.

    Thanks for the review as always. Great insight.
    One of the downsidesI have seen brought up by a few different people is that it has noticeable motion blur. Have you had any issues with motion blur and turn your head back and forth?
    Content does look good and the experience where you were messing around with the Star wars setting was pretty neat looking. Think that is going to require a lot of that sort of high level software and experience sophistication to really drive that magic regardless of the hardware.
    Anyways,.thanks again!

    • @VRwithJasmine
      @VRwithJasmine  8 місяців тому +1

      I haven't experienced the motion blur but I'm also not shaking my head side to side. Almost all the experiences on Vision Pro are very calm, slow paced ones. I would NOT want to workout in this headset. It's full glass on the front and SO expensive. So, no, I have not experienced motion blur but I'll pay more attention.

    So... broader context. What are your thoughts about the AVP for a **First Generation** XR headset? I get that that's a bit unfair to ask like that, as Meta and others have laid so much ground work. But even given that, what are your thoughts about what the AVP can do now as Apple's Gen1 XR device, and what it means for Apple's future as far as it's next Gen XR headsets, and what it means for the wider XR industry? Especially given Apple hasn't **fully** unlocked all the power they could (somethings, yes) with off loading functions onto other Apple devices, like full body tracking using the iPhone or iPad cameras and so on and so forth.
    As far as the "Apple Personas" that I've seen from all the reviews so far, my Banter and VRChat ReadyPlayerMe Avatars looks more like me IRL, than the closest AVP reviewer has to their "Apple Persona". At least IMO,

    • @VRwithJasmine
      @VRwithJasmine  8 місяців тому +1

      Apple NAILED this gen in terms of hardware but I think that was obvious. Apple's had so much time working with hardware whereas Meta has traditionally always been a software company. UI/UX is phenomenal. They really nailed it. Some things I would've liked to be better but overall amazing. The one thing is they need more guidance on how people can best appreciate and use AVP. It's not clear enough yet.

    For now, it's a pass for me. I'm hoping in the future.

    • @VRwithJasmine
      @VRwithJasmine  8 місяців тому +1

      As a gamer, I also want super immersive games! I don’t know if that will happen since it’s Apple. Although technicallyyyy, you could buy the developer port, connect it to your computer, and run a mod allowing you to play PCVR (if such a mod exists). But it wouldn’t be native. That being said, a few years ago, I remember Apple announcing during a keynote that LOL is available to play on phones and thats a more gamery game so maybe they’ll warm up to the idea.

      No It only connects to Macs and only for screen shearing. Outside of some possible fan made mods in the future.
      Even if you could connect it to steam VR theirs no motion controls so you wouldn't be able to play most VR games anyways.
      At this point to me based on reviews I've seen the Vision Pro looks to be best at viewing movies and TV shows and we'll have to see if anything more interesting ends up coming out for it.

    Apple Vision Pro is worth every Pennie . Do the math ... A good home theatre is worth more than 5 Grand alone and it's not portable. Wait it's also a powerful computer ... Spacial Computer people. It can be used as a work tool and entertainment tool , both which are on the leading edge of tech. Still think it's expensive ?
