Not gonna lie, I just got into Nothing about 2 weeks ago. But the moment I peeped Dance On The Blacktop and finished it, I was in love. I bought the record last week and I even preordered The Great Dismal, specifically the bloodshot eye variant preorder. I’ve just finished listening to the latter a few hours ago and it’s safe for me to say I needed this album. And I think a lot of other people would say similarly.
When I discovered Nothing in 2018 they were all I listened to for like 2 or 3 months. The addiction is real! I was going through some intense life changes back then, so nowadays anytime I put on Dance on the Blacktop I get choked up. Powerful songs! All their music feels so personal to me.

It was basically the pairing of heavenly, dreamy melodies with massive walls of feedbacking, delayed and detuned guitars. It was a massive influence on 90s alt rock and psychedelia but faded away for a while. However a revival happened in the aughts and the scene is still going on strong especially now that many musicians from the hardcore scene have gotten into it. Check out My Bloody Valentine's Loveless, Slowdive's Souvlaki, Lush's Spooky and Hum's Downward is Heavenward for some 90s classics and Jesu's self-titled, DIIV's Deceiver and Lacing's Bummer for more recent masterpieces.

Nothing is slowly becoming my favorite band and I listen probably more than 500 artist all across metal genre. Yeah I'm an audiophile :) I love their grungy melancholic nostalgic sound. Would love to see them live here in Croatia 🇭🇷
This was the last album I got to from all the new releases intentionally cause I knew if it was first it would be the last and only. First song was in bliss and drifted off to sleep after 3-4 hours of new music. I LOVE NOTHING ✊🏿🖤🤎🤘🏾
