Best representation of a 90s MTV music video. The sound and video. Incredible how a song from 2016 can bring me back to 1995 staying up late on a Friday night watching MTV. The nostalgia is real
seismicdeathgrip i wouldn’t go that far with it but they definitely carry a lot of 90s grunge traits that are very catchy. i get a mix of deftones & smashing pumpkins when i listen to them. great band to say the least.

the bass in this song bleeds through perfectly. it's chunky but not overdone like most bass players do now a days. it's refreshing to hear a bass player just play some old school style bass.
Rusty Shackleford Despite some on the controversy surrounding him, Nick Bassett is actually a pretty damn good and versatile musician. Plays guitar in Whirr and Camera Shy, plays bass in Nothing (as well as the piano arrangements on Tired Of Tomorrow), and played guitar in Deafheaven. He is/has been in 5 projects that are all awesome, being a main songwriter in 4 of them.
@@IlBalivoDiUzhitz I got the vibe from this! Which makes sense why I love it so much because pink maggot is my favorite song from one of my favorite bands
"going behind the silver rain curtain with MJ" is a striking image. The boy looks dead, and MJ's eyes are black and sunken. Well done, Boys, as always.
In the beginning, there were many things, at then, there was nothing. Before the light, came the darkness, but the darkness was it's own. The Light belonged to whoever chose to accept it. Only by accepting the light, can you begin to be of Light, and not of, darkness.

+Jose Noriega (The Musical Junkie) That's why I really like this band. Some people get to look back to their college days and remember listening to White Pony era Deftones. In the future I will look back on listening to Nothing during my college days.
+Rusty Shackleford I thought so too, after all there was a guy with blood coming out of his head for a song called "Eaten by Worms"...Were we suppose to expect opera?disco?country?
for one the feeling of this and pretty much any deathmetal band is different the purpose of the music is different. but as far as doing what they do in their genre theirs alot of bands that are really good at what they do, just as good at what they do as nothing is at what they do. so i have to agree that you probably arent all about that death metal.
Sounds reminiscent of Deftone's Pink Maggit and Nirvana's Heart-Shaped Box but still genuinely unique in it's own style. I can't wait to hear the rest of the album.
Amazing video. Even more amazing album. For the Minnesota fans, Nothing is playing a show at Triple Rock Social Club on June 11. Tickets $15 // Doors 7pm // Show 8pm

The Deftones influenced future bands. Who would thought that was possible, given how critics are not super into Deftones? Make no mistake, this is excellent. It fits right in the mid 90s shoegaze metal genre. As another commentator said, I could live in that era forever. We had a lot more real music then from multiple genres, including electronic, underground rap, progressive, metal, and stripped down four piece rock.
The critics love Deftones. I don’t think they’ve ever had an album that was reviewed badly (overall I mean). The amount of bands in different genres that have been influenced by Deftones is pretty insane: Glassjaw, Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, Muse, Circa Survive, Finch, Thursday, Nothing, Deafheaven, etc
(Edit: Oops, I was just using really bass heavy headphones, never mind, this is awsome...the intro is very Heart Shaped Box inspired, btw) I dig this band, but I feel like the EQ is never quite right. I keep looking for a mix with a bit more treble, but I guess this is the dynamic they're going for.

I LOVE the shifting of who's singing on camera. Gives the lyrics during the video are a really cool dynamic
Same 👍🏻 …wonder if it’s ever been done in other music videos? Nothing comes to mind.
Whoever put this video together is a damn genius.
Can't believe this is over 5 years old now. It still rules.
This would have been the biggest song in the world in 1996.
Still pretty fucking cool 20 years later. Can't wait for the album

I feel like it's 1995, which is how I like to feel most of the time.
Much agreed. I wish they stuck with this style or at least had songs that sounded like this.
Feels like I’m tripping on shrooms
No doubt
95 was a good year.
Kind of a blatant Deftones ripoff eh? But I like it.

Nick Bassett is pretty tight I guess
+Andrew Ramirez a hero, even
"It bleeds through". Was that intentional?
well he even has "bass" in his name

Accidentally listened to this on Spotify was impressed. Reminds me of Failure and Smashing Pumpkins
To me this seems the grunge version of "pink maggit" by Deftones

Going to see them in April with AFI can not wait!!
2022 and the production on both the music and the video are still perfect.
underrated band .
Mikes got himself another kid, even in the afterworld
SO GOOD
This was like a time machine straight back to the early to mid 90s.
lynchian aura in this videoclip
Seen NOTHING open for AFI last night in Boston & thought they sounded great! I'm definitely a fan now. :)

kinda like Heart shaped box at the intro... then explodes into familiar Nothing territory . Good track
Why does this band have such awesome music videos?

Thanks
there was a part near the end in which the guitars sounded chips vocals in the body
love you all
This song reminds me of overdosing on Heroin rest in peace to everyone lost to drugs

The beginning bar chords are similar to Black Hole Sun, this song is awesome.
This would of been huge in the 90s. God I would do anything to go back then

I am looking at these comments and I am thinking have any of you heard Failure, Hum or any space rock? Sounds nothing like Deftones.
