Ford's heated windshield is incredible. I owned a Fiesta ST 2013 between 2016-2020 and the first week of owning it the thin wire lattice was playing tricks with my eyes. After the first week I fully got used to it, and looking back it was a godsend up here in north Finland. Also my wife drove it a lot and never complained. Which is a treat, since she does complain about things. Holy crap does she complain. Holy shit, boy.

How can you not be comfortable in a fully adjustable AGR approved seat!? Heated windshield is a real bonus, not only for defrost but also quickly defog your front window inside in Autum and Winter.
I don't get why you'd put the focus behind the Golf in terms of interior build quality. They literally ripped off the cheap plastic shift knob in the manual GTI during their Test-Drive at Grip on german television. The Golf is much worse in terms of quality. The Focus shifter is actualy made of metal and leatherette and is held on by a M10 bolt, not a couple of plastic clips like in the Golf.

That center console and screen looks so cheap now. And again, all physical buttons removed... what a stupid decision. That new screen looks so aftermarket and makes the center console look so cheap. Sorry ford, this interior was a step backwards in so many ways. Nice exterior, fun car, but that interior is a dealbreaker to me unfortunately
The screen does look aftermarket, but for me it's the only thing on the interior that does not look cheap. The interior gives out such a 90's entry level car vibe.

Hello Thomas. I am confused, this car is the same as the prefacelift model in terms of suspension, chasis, steering, engine, brakes and everything regarding the driving experience. How come you liked so much how the previous version was for driving, and this one not, when they are the same in mentioned terms?
@@autogefuehl I did, but you were much more impressed with the prefacelift model. I guess some time has passed and you got harder to impress. 😉 Thank you for the info that it still drives well and also for all the great reviews.
3:24 Wow, my whole life has been a lie! I always liked to watch the seating position and free space part of reviews, cause I was just as tall as Thomas, but now he suddenly grew up!
I don`t get why the rear brake lights are halogen...he does not point it out...but I have a 2018 fiesta with led brake lights instead, strange decision from Ford. I`ll preface that I ordered one of this but I will get it in 2023 for the chip shortage, so I`m not 100% sure of this. I asked around and everyone says they are halogen. If anyone know for sure how this rear brakes lights are it will be awesome. Nice review btw!
I also hate the wires in the windshield. Especially in sunset, when the light makes those wires reflect all the light and I barely see anything else. Causes too much glare. (compared to the Golf VII, where there were no wires in the windshield, but the warm air could just melt the ice or defog the window just as quickly as these wired solutions)
@@Groaznic agreed. I had the wires in my previous Volvo V40, and melting thick ice took maybe 20 seconds. Using warm air in my current VW Golf 7.5, it takes a couple of minutes. I can get a cup of coffee before the windshield is defrosted...
This appears to be the ST Line, not the ST Line X. There are some quick ways to tell. The car in this video has the 17" alloys, not the 18" diamond cut ones found on the X; the bodywork at the front is painted blue near the edges of the front bumper whereas on the X it's entirely black; and on the interior fabric seats are shown whereas on the X it has leather seats.
It doesn’t look good that the Apple car play is so small on a huge screen with a load of white space ! How they signed that off and thought it was acceptable is mind blowing
It's funny and totally unusual but I definitely prefer the pre-facelift version. On the outside in the front it has much more uniquie design features and more character. The bonnet accents were amazing. On the inside there is just so much more functionality with direct button controls. I assume, one can get used to on-screen climate controls, but the bad thing is that some nice details and chrome accents (also B&O badges on the door speakers if sound has been upgraded) are gone. The area where the climate controls used to be could use some pimping up to make it look less dull and "underused" (the start button on the pre-facelift is a huge step above in quality and visual appeal). Happy to see though that Ford still allows us the luxury and fun of using those two "fully grown" hatch handles on the inside. I love the excess in that.
Oh boy all these videos on the focus st line are making me bad. Ordered mine in Vignale trim estate model again in dessert blue back in March and due to the current situation with the war in Ukraine, thanks to Putin the wait list was getting put back and back. But thankfully the dealership phoned yesterday to inform me that the car was on its way and I should have the keys in my hand by the end of the month.

These modestly priced cars are becoming very, very competent nowadays. I wonder if the so-called premium cars are really worth the price difference or do people buy them mostly to boost their egos…
I don't understand the thing with USB C in cars. The C connector sits worse than the old style one, and it doesn't matter what's in that end anyway. I think more people have USB A > whatever they have than C > whatever they have anyways. In the same way EUs USB C law is just weird. 95% of all chargers still have USB A (no matter if it's a Oneplus or Apple). It's like they don't understand that you can remove the cable from the charger..
That's because the law hasn't officially sprung into action yet. I quote: "Parliament and EU countries reached a provisional agreement on the legislation on 7 June 2022. Parliament formally approved the agreement on 4 October 2022. After it has been formally approved by the council, EU countries will have two years to introduce the rules into national laws. It will not apply to products placed on the market before it comes into force." So basically it's still possible to introduce products with different charging ports until the end of 2024 and if you introduced it before that time, you can keep selling that product. The law is meant to give manufacturers time to introduce USB-C. You'll see its effects in the long term. The smarter manufacturers introduced USB-C earlier because they anticipate that in the future (many years from now), other charging ports will be obsolete. It's simple future-proofing and considering that the classic car manufacturers like Ford have long-term contracts with car part suppliers, it makes sense for them to switch to buying USB-C in bulk instead of making new contracts with suppliers of dying standards.
Very good looking upgrade apart form the weird decision to go backwards & put an old fashion automatic gear stick instead of the round puck, which look way way better.

How come you liked so much how the previous version was for driving, and this one not, when they are the same in mentioned terms?
Not sure if you watched full length, but I totally mentioned that it drives very well ?
@@autogefuehl I did, but you were much more impressed with the prefacelift model. I guess some time has passed and you got harder to impress. 😉 Thank you for the info that it still drives well and also for all the great reviews.
3:24 Wow, my whole life has been a lie! I always liked to watch the seating position and free space part of reviews, cause I was just as tall as Thomas, but now he suddenly grew up!
true dat. Passport was always wrong, must be workout and diet =)
Heated windscreen for me is brilliant, would rather have it than not. You notice the elements at first but after a short time you stop noticing them.
Is there a dark mode or something for these screens? All that huge white space might get annoying especially when driving at night.
Afaik yes
What is best 126 bhp.or 155 bhp ?
I thought they discontinued it?
I want it more than Golf!
Place your order now get in in 18 months!😂. At least Thomas and team never disapoint and always deliver!
🙏🙏
Here in US is missing out lol all we get are suv 🚙
I don`t get why the rear brake lights are halogen...he does not point it out...but I have a 2018 fiesta with led brake lights instead, strange decision from Ford. I`ll preface that I ordered one of this but I will get it in 2023 for the chip shortage, so I`m not 100% sure of this. I asked around and everyone says they are halogen. If anyone know for sure how this rear brakes lights are it will be awesome.
Nice review btw!
Waiting for your Civic e:HEV review.
And as I said there are these foils available which heat the windscreen
Negatory, the air blast does not and can not melt the ice as quick as the wires. In a long winter I prefer the wired windshield hands down.
They gave us the vehicle als ST Line X but maybe it differs on markets
Tiempo de espera?
Just ordered Astra GS line test drove all three and Astra had so much more equipment as standard
But does it have a heated windscreen for the winter time, or just the blower method??
It doesn’t look good that the Apple car play is so small on a huge screen with a load of white space ! How they signed that off and thought it was acceptable is mind blowing
Noticed the use of the word 'matrix'.
I love the excess in that.
thanks for the feedback !
I just wanna know, who is sitting next to u Thomas 😉same lady as in the red Audi rs5 review?
Lol thats Jonas 😂
The pre face lift model looks much better I have the 1.5 182bhp ST Line-X and it's a punchy car much nicer looking than the new model except interior
Same here!
Same here. Some dude in a new Puma tried to race me at the lights the other day. Needless to say he got a bit of a shock. Lol.
@@Cougarsamurai yea I imagine with a stage 1 map it would be about 200bhp I was terrorizing a golf GTD in it earlier 🤣
@@Cougarsamurai people are trying to race me on a daily basis :)
For me this is way better than Golf outside and inside More "emotion" desing.
What do you think?
Would be nice if you could actually get one! None available yet and haven't seen a single one on the road.
Enjoy 😊
What engine did you go for?
@@dragospahontu 1.0, 125 hp and honestly it goes like stink and sounds absolutely awesome a bit like the Subaru Impreza. I’ve had so many people asking what the engine size is and they can’t believe it and when I’ve taken them out for a spin those who usually have lots to say were speechless by it performance. I absolutely love it and makes me smile every time I get in it. I can highly recommend one.
@@PiperX1X yes the 1.0l 125hp on the Focus feels like a naturally aspirated 2.0l petrol. It is an impressive little engine.
What fuel consumption do you have on yours?
@@dragospahontu I’m averaging about between 38-40 mpg. I live in the country so lots of hills, on decent roads and motorways run it’ll obviously perform better
🤔I think in relation to the 308 or Astra it looks a bit outdated. But nice to see a Ford again at the channel. 👍
These modestly priced cars are becoming very, very competent nowadays. I wonder if the so-called premium cars are really worth the price difference or do people buy them mostly to boost their egos…
Yes
I have a Mondeo MK5 hybrid, and I agree with you on the windshield line, It's fuking annoying, but I got used to it, it's a Ford.
Fords have come a long way now, they are much better than Golfs
17 inch is too small for this car. In moondust silver this car looks way better!
Every car should have a heated windscreen I am sure in a very cold morning and you are late for something you won't mind the lined in windscreen
i thought ford focus was discontinued
It will not apply to products placed on the market before it comes into force."
So basically it's still possible to introduce products with different charging ports until the end of 2024 and if you introduced it before that time, you can keep selling that product.
Perfekte Aussprache in Englisch!
Very good looking upgrade apart form the weird decision to go backwards & put an old fashion automatic gear stick instead of the round puck, which look way way better.
