Ross, when it comes time to laminate the cabin mold you should organize a Laminating Party for Patrons and Volunteers. I live on the on the US West Coast, but I'd be happy to fly down under and spend a working holiday with you and some friends, pitching in some extra sweat equity and able hands. The learning experience would be priceless. All I ask is that you feed me!
Nice progress on the boat this week. I think that people who aren't directly affected by the Virus can't truly appreciate what those who have been affected are going through. I myself have seen first hand how devastating it has been to the economy here in Nanning China. We are quite a ways away from Wuhan but the restrictions we have to deal with make life difficult until they can get this under control. This makes having access to watch your videos even more appreciated since I don't really go out of our home until things return to normal. Looking forward to your next post.
Man one thing for certain you are a madman. Not afraid of a hard days work you are one hard working guy. I love the boat your building. I imagine many mornings you must wake up wishing you were 10 years younger up and down the hulls looks like a ball buster. I have been watching all the way along it's coming along great. Keep it up I really enjoy your videos thanks for sharing your project.
I have been following you since the build began Ross, you are an inspiration! I’m glad the rain came and the fires are beat back. I am just about to join a flotilla in the grenadines for 14 days on a lagoon 380. I am from the frozen north, Canada and have dreamed of sailing for years. It is because of you and your build that I am fulfilling this dream. Keep the vids coming!
Hi Ross I,m glad that the fire did not destroy your dream and your able to continue building the Big Cat ! It,s going to turn out Beautiful ! Rainbows for Australia
Pro tip. Make sure when you make the compartment for the compressor / condensing unit you give it good ventilation and access. Neat looking hidden fridge motors keep fridgies in business and you reaching into your pocket over and over for the same problem.
Good to hear the rain at your place and that you weren't adversely effected by the fires. Here on the Sunshine Coast QLD, paradise has turned into a swamp with flooding rains. Good luck to you and yours.
Thanks John.I believe you guys have had your fill of rain Stay safe as it flooded all of Sydney last weekend whilst I was moving Janet in.Weirdest weather this year.Cheers Ross
Nice. Bulkheads are looking good. I’m looking forward to watching you tab the bulkheads and modules. It will mean no move shifting them in and out any longer.
Horrific times no doubt down there as the things change day to day. Glad the ugly has passed for the most part and hope the future brings positive and good days ahead. Like the progress on your project and hang in Ross, it's a day to day thing and your doing a fab job with it, thanks !!
Ross, you're working miracles. Leopard apparently have nine or ten workers on a new cat all the time, and it still takes them months to build one. Also, glad to see you Aussies finally out from under the threat of fire and my sympathies lie with those who lost everything during that horrendous period. Keep it up, mate!
"The fires are officially out." JFC, it's about bloody time. Over a billion animals lost ... it'll take decades for the country to recover in a best-case scenario. Best wish for all of you, Ross.
Thanks Trane.Incredible relief Australia and worldwide. You can believe the wildlife carnage.I have seen local footage of horrendous animal tragedy and I personally can tell you we will have localised extinctions from this event. Thanks for following along buddy.
If only the fires were the worst of your troubles in the tourism industry...I've been knocking out your videos over the past week, and I'm happy to see the boat really come together!
Thanks so much for watching.I hope they are of value to you.Tourism industry here in our area is certainly booming now with locals experiencing their own back yard.Cheers Ross
The anxiety is understandable, it's been a traumatic experience for a lot of people. I expect many will have undiagnosed and ultimately untreated PTSD from these fires too. I hope people look after their mental health.
You're a battler Rosco. Have been following a long time and it's vids like these that really show some fantastic progress. A great boost for you AND us! I'm working on a steel boat and a couple of 100 yr old schooner's in NYC so I know what a pain, but also pleasure boat life can be. Good on ya Cobber.
I hope you are going to have as much fun sailing your boat, as you seem to have building it... People will bounce back. We did in Northern California with the Carr Fire taking out a big section of Redding, CA and the Camp fire wiping out all of Paradise, CA...
Love the progress, Ross. You need to get some help in there at key points before you blow your back out! Those are some heavy pieces. Hopefully some of them will find permanent homes in the hulls pretty soon.
Thanks so much Dave.Main forward bulkhead tabbed in this week.Spent a solid week doing it right. My back is problematic and can give me jipp at times but generally the more I work the better my back.Use it or loose it.Rossco
Unfortunately Oz has been drying out for some time now, and set to continue. SO I fear this is the shape of things to come. Happy that you guys are OK after all you went through. Looking very svelte there mate. Boat is looking awesome
Having plywood hatch covers in place is standard practice at local yacht manufacturers here. It is important to keep all hatches covered if you aren't actually working in them. Plywood is cheep, compared to torn ligaments or broken bones. (Here is Maine, US)
I am glad it seems to be coming together for you. I cannot imagine how demotivating spending a couple of years of solid work and seeming to get nowhere.
Ross, It's beginning to look like a Cat! Cutting out the doors had to lighten those big plywood panels. This is a huge bit of progress. Glad to hear Janet didn't leave you. I don't know how she feels about it, but I'm not sure you could do any better. She's a keeper. Regards, Solomon
You are so correct Solomon.I could not do better. She is my soul mate and we get each other but she does tolerate a lot from me.All the beat buddy.Ross.
Hi The catamaran coming a long nicely! Monsoon went south this year, Townsville is getting a bit of rain to fill up the dam. It's good that the fires are out.
I knew their was a joke in their somewhere about her leaving. But really glad that hole was covered , Have been worried about something getting broke ever sense it was opened. And really glad the fires are out but just heard about the temps in antarctica get ready for the floods next.
Wow, it’s really coming together. All your hard work is paying off big time. Great to see the progress especially despite all the challenges and anxiety from the fires and so glad to hear it’s finally turned the corner with the rains. Wishing you all the best from fire prone California.
You goto the gym and then.have a massive work out on the cat by the time you finish Ross you will have muscles on muscles can really start to see the layout now and it looks fantastic
Glad to hear that life is returning to what passes for your normal if there ever is one ! Hope you didn't suffer too much with all that moving in the humidity, did something similar last week cleaning up old belongings etc... Was curious if you'll spray foam the walls and bottom of that freezer locker, or make up a series of foam boards laminated to fit that space tightly ? Will you recess into walls a refrigerated air channel, or have it external of the walls, or just use wire baskets etc to hold frozen items away from the walls for recirculation ?
Hello from the Basque Country! I love your initiatives to launch you to an important project such as building a catamaran !!! Keep it up. I really like your positive personality !!!

How’s the rain now Ross? Hope she isn’t floating away on you mate. Just curious, how thick is the glass on the mold itself and is the mold cored with anything? Plywood, foam ect, just wondering when to stop on the mold I’m building at the moment? Cheers for the vid mate 🤙🏻⛵️🏝
Ross, my wife has been itching to take a Trip to Australia for quite a while. She called it "Australia 2020" that we've been saving for. We figured we couldn't make the trip due to fires, but if you think that could still happen, where do you suggest we go?
I love near Ross, honestly anywhere is fine now. The whole east coast is still a great place to visit, but central Australia, Darwin west coast are all great too.
Glad to hear you're through the worst of it. Fingers crossed the weather you've had the last couple of months isn't "the new normal." But I have a sneaking suspicion that this may not be the last horrific period of weather your country faces in the foreseeable future. Maybe worth considering leaving some of that coal in the ground...

Great progress and the best news - the rain.👍😀⛵️
To walk through the bulkheads from module to module! Man, I can feel the excitement!!
