Story behind "Too Far Gone":
The main concept of this song, Too Far Gone, was written back in 2016. Adam Christopher and I were in the studio for a week, mining for ideas. I remember when we stumbled on the vocal hook that I was legitimately stunned. A lot of times, we write songs based on an emotion or phrase, and this song just came screaming in from nowhere… As I sat at the piano and played the chords, I started singing “Too Far Gone” and we both knew something important had emerged. I actually asked Adam to leave the room for a little while as I tracked the piano part… I turned off the lights and just let all my emotions come out.
We tried to take the authenticity of that question, “are we too far gone” and create a story around it, make it larger and more high stakes, but it just felt too dramatic… so the song sat for a couple years. I thought of it often, knowing that it held something special for me.
Then I met Svrcina. I knew her voice was the right choice to carry the message. We sat down together and peeled back all the unnecessary layers of the song, arriving once again at that core question… and then things got personal. I realized where the song came from, born out of a really trying time in my life with health issues and isolation, and so the song become an allegory for that. Simply, an emotional representation of being at a low point and wondering how to take the next step… whether to call it quits, pack up and move on, or to continue fighting for whatever it is you are after.

The song by itself is so powerful and emotional but after knowing how this song came about and how it grew, how it was to the composer themselves and all made it even more special.
It too relates to me in a way, like how I'm starting to question myself these days (no, a few months) on whether I should let go of my dream/goal/aspiration whatever you call it...I'm still holding on to it, yet I feel like I could break anytime and lose it forever...it means so much to me.

I don't what to do with myself anymore. The timing of this song was both good and bad in a way. The life I want to have seems so near yet so far away. I don't know whether I should keep pursuing it or just give up. I finally know what I want to do with my life but I don't know if I should or not
