Iowa State University Tornado/Microburst Simulator Demonstration

A short demonstration of the Iowa State University Tornado & Microburst Simulator. The demonstration uses dry ice to visualize the flow as the simulated tornado translates back and forth over a small model town. This type of demonstration is only done for tour groups that visit the facility. While in test mode, nothing is used to visualize the flow and scaled models of structures containing many pressure taps are fixed to the ground plane. The goal is to better understand the forces exerted on structures as induced by the extreme winds/pressures from tornadoes and microbursts.
