    I would do everything you could to make sure this is used in a spy movie for a villain to use as a mobile area to conduct a secret meeting - would be exceptional PR based on the design presented here. In reality, this is incredible. Keep it up!

    Amazing. Just amazing. Ever thought about doing deals with local councils? The housing possibilities for this are almost endless. What do they weigh? Could they be transported in bulk via cargo aircraft (such as the Lockheed C-5 Galaxy) for relief operations? Amazing bit of kit.

      Thanks for your comment. We are actively looking for licensees who are interested in utilising our technology for their own purposes and hope to see these units being used to help those in need in the very near future. The TF-64 unit, which is essentially a more advanced version of the unit in this video weighs in the region of 22,000kgs depending on internal fittings. We hope to have licensees established globally to reduce the need for transportation. Please keep an eye on our website/social media pages for updates as to when and where these units will be available first. Thanks!

      Chinese quality is what you want to pay for it. They give you a grade list to pick from, why you have to have someone in China, to quality control. They like to cut corners to cash in money, and ruin your company reputation in the process.

    Seems like a neat idea... But where would you park it? I'm sure you'd have to buy or rent land... And I'm sure many places would have codes &/or covenants governing the type of structures that can be in a neighborhood/property.

    Looks interesting if you live somewhere where it's constant summer. Although it could be a bureaucratic nightmare to actually move it around. You'd probably need a building permit for the thing wherever you wanted to set it up, especially if you live in it.

    • @ZeoCyberG
      @ZeoCyberG 6 років тому

      Depends on the area, regulations can be different just about everywhere but if it stays on wheels then it can be treated the same as RV's and Tiny Houses, but their designs can also be on foundations and would then have to follow residential codes...
      Organizations like FEMA would definitely love this, however, and it would be a major improvement over their present trailers they use for emergency housing...
      While the design isn't limited to just warm climates... It all depends on how it is built but the wall panels can be of varying thickness and thus varying levels of insulation and durability/weight...
      Seems mainly a question of what companies will partner with them... They're mainly just engineers and designers and won't be actually producing these structures themselves. They need partners who will do the actual construction based on their designs and licensed technology before this goes to the next stage...

    Very cool. Nice to see actual physical prototype instead of just computer animation. Suggest you focus on the A-frame, without windows on the roof sides. Make one side overlap a bit at the roof apex, so rain and snow is properly shedded & unit is waterproof. Properly engineered, you will have solved the snow-load problem, and this model could be deployed in harsh climates quickly, as a 3-season vacation house. Use aluminum not painted steel for structural components, to address both corrosion concerns, and weight. If it is light enough, then helicopter deployment to remote or water-access-only sites becomes possible. (Don't laugh about the helicopter. If I want power at my water-access-only lake-side place, the local power company will charge me $4000 to helicopter in the step-down transformer, since union rules say it is too heavy for the workers to lift up a hill. Putting a custom house at the hill top will be quite expensive, as everything would have to be carried up stairs from a dock. If the A-frame model could be air-lifted from a nearby highway, then putting a house on the property might be economic. And the economics could work. Property without house (a very small cabin at the moment) worth maybe 150K. But with a house with a septic system, worth probably 300K. If the house and septic can be deployed for less than $150K, the house is economic. Estimates for septic are 20K in my case, and I note your base-price for a house is 130K, so from my real-world use-case, it might be doable. Don't stop. Carry on. You guys really have something here. Probably you want to hook-up with your local building inspectors, and see if your design could be approved to meet local building codes for 3-season dwellings. Getting some kind of building-code pre-approval would let you jump from mobile prototype to real production, as I suspect the demand will be there, just based on the property-price delta that occurs when you are selling land+dwelling versus raw land. Getting building-code approval in one jurisdiction, will make it easier to get it in another. We really need to make it easier and cheaper to create and deploy real houses. Think about pre-installing wiring and plumbing. Look at Frank Lloyd Wright's "Usonian" houses for ideas (he put all the utilities in a close cluster, to keep plumbing and wiring costs low - lots of builders copied his design so that kitchen and bathroom stuff is centered together). Best of luck. Eventually, these sell on Amazon maybe? And the Fed-Ex heavy-lift drones deliver the folded-up house to your site, and just drop it on your carefully engineered foundation?

      As someone that makes 3D architectural renderings, I can tell you that this video actually shows real footage. Notice the rough camera movements on the interior? It looks weird because they've blurred the edges in a few shots. At 0:56 if that's CG it's better than ILM. They say it's real, it looks real, probably is real.

    Will the plumbing work like an rv? Where as you have to empty it yourself correct?

    • @ZeoCyberG
      @ZeoCyberG 6 років тому

      Only if it is placed off-grid... Even RV's can be still be connected to utilities and sewage lines and only need to use the tanks when off-grid...
      So up to the builders and who they will build these for as to how they will be configured...
      Also, some of these can simply be configured as an alternative to modular/prefab houses and can be considered the same as on site built homes once placed on a foundations and hooked up to the grid...
      If you look at the rest of their videos, they're hardly limiting themselves to just one type of application for their technology...
      They got plans for solar array that will fold out when delivered to a site, emergency medical facilities, instant stadium seating, instant dance floors, instead road barriers, etc.

      something around 100k, but that's just an estimate. If they mass produce them, price will drop. I'm guessing the price is likely just based on the single prototype, and prototypes usually cost a lot of money. Materials here looks like 20k worth.

    • @ZeoCyberG
      @ZeoCyberG 6 років тому

      Or just put auto leveling jacks beneath it or use one of a number of temporary foundation systems that are already available for prefab/modular houses...
      Even regular foundation houses aren't all put on slabs that are embedded in the ground. Places plagued by flooding, for example, even mandate houses be constructed/placed above ground on pillar footing foundations or similar...
      There's seriously a lot of options really...

      Same way they do it for the over 9 million RV's and Tiny Houses in the market in the US alone... Never mind all the people who live off-grid all the time all over the world...
      Or you can simply move it some place that has utility hook ups and just connect and disconnect it with each move, which covers most of the country... So that's easily solved...

      That's because this company is basically the inventor of this technology, but they're not a construction or manufacturing company...
      This model is just a proof of concept so manufacturers and construction companies can see the technology works so they can be willing to license the designs and technology from this company and then we'll start seeing these things being sold once that happens...
      Benefit being you'll eventually have the option to choose a local builder no matter where in the world you may be and that should help keep costs down, as no need for overseas shipping, etc. added costs...

    Isn't this just CGI? Do you have anything you've actually built?

      I can assure you that this is a real prototype and was filmed in the UK at a manufacturing facility in Norfolk. We are also currently putting the finishing touches on our latest TF-64 demonstrator unit and hope to have pictures and videos online in the coming weeks. Thanks for your comment.

    I'm fairly sure this is fake. Look at the shadows both inside and out at around the minute mark.

    Can I have one of these?...Please? Pretty please?! I'd be super grateful, and I'd be sure to like your page on Facebook! Also -- not to guilt-trip you, but my father left me when I was a child. You could legit be my new dad! I'd invite you over for spaghetti dinners in my origami house anytime you wanted! No questions asked, and I wouldn't even make you take off your shoes.
    ...Just think about it!

      ""useless""
      are you saying the hinges would not work, or are you saying there is not enough insulation?

    • @bolshevik_1917

      I mean thermal insulation. Too high losses of heat. Personally I hardly represent that this house would have the similar level of energy consumption and energy saving, in comparison with my house.
      Just for reference. I live in climate where average temperature in the summer plus 27 degrees Celsius. In the winter average temperature minus 19 degrees Celsius. Also it is very windy in the winter.
      Sharp-continental climate.
      And by the standards of Russia, our climate still very good)

      Design could just be adapted with thicker fold out wall panels that'll have higher insulation options... Remember, this is just their proof of concept model and is not intended to be a final finished move in ready structure...
      This is an engineering and design company, not manufacturers or builders... It'll be the companies and builders that will partner with them that will be making the final finished products...

      They've stated they plan on having whomever becomes their manufacturer provide heavy-insulated models. Remember, this one's just a proof of concept. Giant windows are not necessary.
