I'm reading the comments and I think that a lot of people are missing the point. I do not think the purpose this would serve is as a portable home. This is not a fancy caravan. It is a house. The point is that typically, building a home requires a long build time involving many different people. With this, you order the home, it arrives and is built within 10 minutes. However, the home will still need to be plumbed in, fully furnished and connected to the electricity grid. That is, once the home is actually unfolded and fully fitted, it would not be easy to then refold it again. It would first require the house being emptied and the pipes and cables connecting it to the ground removed. From the point of view of a construction company, these houses could be built in a factory and stored in a warehouse. Once an order is placed, the house is delivered to the site and is allowed to unfold/self-assemble. Definitely seems to me to be an idea that will have some potential.
I'm working on a science fiction concept using this type of building. Being able to ship entire towns to right where they need to be. transporting a few hundred to a thousand such containers to a site and being able to set up infrastructure for thousands of people in a matter of hours. Containers could be houses, schools, restaurants, hospitals/clinics, research labs, greenhouses, you name it. As this company is proving, the design potential is borderline limitless,
The transforming interior are fantastic. It doesn't have problems of elements exposure, so their maintenance are less demanding. Also, it doesn't need to work on plumbing, something that make the outdoor version only suitable for camping or disaster relief.
No doubt the negative comments below are made by builders who will be disrupted by this new application of old principles. But for people like me who are looking for affordable housing, this kind of thing is just the beginning of a satisfactory solution to the current costly way of doing things. If I were a builder, I would be seeking a licence to make these buildings, and sit back and watch the $$ roll in as people flock to it.
NOW THIS...THIS IS THE SOLUTION FOR UNDER-HOUSING AND SOME POVERTY AREAS RIGHT HERE PEOPLE. LOVE IT😍🤩👍🏼🖖🏽 I would so like to work on this guy’s team designing more of the aesthetics for these revolutionary structures.
Daniel Whyatt what are tou talking about- these are really expensive, and the house can’t just revert to its tiny self when someone leaves, it solves nothing, just looks cool
Well, travelling carnivals have been around for a long time, this is just more useful. I imagine these are already being used by Hollywood instead of "trailers".
Finally engineering that makes sense. And doesn't inherently fight itself just to ultimately eat itself alive so to speak, well done, makes one hell of an RV I bet lol
I wonder how the connection work. What about isolation ? Humidity ? Electricity? Sounds like a good concept do not get me wrong. But it's more like a concept than close to realisation.
Um… yeah, I have questions… Where does the shitter go? And what if there’s a car accident while Ralphie & Alice are schleppin’ their fold-a-house to Florida? And what if the impact of aforementioned accident causes the thing to boingggg pop open right there on the I95? How embarrassing. And what if it won’t close? What if the closer won’t close? Or closes when it shouldn’t, squishing Granny Ethel into human prune juice? And what if a hurricane comes along and scoops it up? Other than that, pretty ingenius geometry there… 😵💫
The poor can not afford this kind of house. Only the establishment of these houses is very expensive, then how will the poor or middle class family afford this whole house? I really respect your model, but if you can create a middle-class family's design then you have a huge market ...🙌
The middle-class is definitely the best targeted consumer for this. That is of course unless you were to share it. Frankly I think this would be best for relief areas that need better shelters or medical facilities.
What if it accidentally closes while you're still in it?
You will become the painting for the next owner ;)
You'll become a nice rug
Walls get painted
I think you'd die?
It's counterbalanced, there is not enough force to crush them.
How would one store furniture, electronics, clothes or food?
Barrington Morris yeah you have to put them in after like you do after building a typical house. These get built a lot faster though
Yeah, that would be a problem. Unless you're a minimalist or Japanese.
It shows it in the video.
What happens to the furniture whenever I want to close the house in case I want to be absent for some time>
Good for camping for the rich.
Yup, let's go camping....I will book the cargo helicopter to pack the beans
Ill bring the bread
Honestly, I don’t think this counts as camping. This is just a house that you can set up in 10 minutes.
@@elenagibbons4719 You ruined it
Or a home for the rest?

Very well said.
I totally agree.

Dear smarhouse,
Please remember to let the dogs out when moving. Thanks.
Command and Conquer would be so proud.

This is House can expand itself, can't agree on building itself..
LMAO, okay sleep well, no little dreams about someone pressing that damn button while your inside and the thing self flat-packing...
Dumb Dumb i couldnt sleep in it
It's counterbalanced, there is not enough force to crush someone.
Very innovative for nomads
Can someone dub the transformer noise over this lol
John Dotson dam lol
Transformers houses in disguise
This is amazing. This is the future - done with the technology of the past
what about pipelines ?
Canceled
That’s cool and all, but I’d be scared af just thinking about the possibility of it closing up and killing me...
New fear unlocked! Thanx! 😏

Expensive af
This is just a gimmick. Those houses look unstable and they have poor insulation. What good is a house if it's not sealed and insulated?
@Janitor Queen this would be great for Japan because of its mild year-long climate and Japanese homes tend to be pretty fragile anyways.
There is always a start to every technology.
This is actually the future
With my luck I'd be in the shower when the house decides to malfunction and squish me like a huge, naked pancake.
I remember seeing this concept on Tomorrow's World back in the 90's.
Well, travelling carnivals have been around for a long time, this is just more useful. I imagine these are already being used by Hollywood instead of "trailers".
This is more attractive and more beautifull than tenfold's other portable camper projects.
Richard Murphy was already thinking about this 20 years ago
What is the effect of hurricanes, earthquakes and tornadoes on these structures?
This is amazing one of the best things I’ve seen in using this as inspiration
Could be ideal when setting up colonies in Mars.
Genuinely impressive
Absolutely great...this is the future of housing! 👍👍 3:58
So cool I hope this realy becomes popular
This channel needs more subscribers

This is awesome architecture.
This would be a great housing option
In future this kind of houses mostly will be seen everywhere 🙂
I need some redstone tutirial videos about these. Do they work in bedrock edition?
Most critical moment.
so where's the plumbing and electrical?
Excellento!! Nice Engineering ⚙️
Wow❤ Great ingenuity!
'Iron man' house .. perhaps 'Swiss Knife' house
Amazing.
One word ..smoosh!
3:10 change is the only Thing that is certain - nice Stuff
Glad to see Made in the UK innovation back into the 21st century 🇬🇧 ✌
I love this nice to build traveling vacation homes. Amen.😊
good concept
Nice concept. Convenient for limited space . Can you explain the durability of this and the maintenance ,because most of the parts are moving.
Next invent the Location's for these moving houses to be placed
I hope this is the future.
Nice editing
I wonder how the connection work. What about isolation ? Humidity ? Electricity?

1- For transport, for use
2- hinges
3-carry
4-balancing
5-transformation
6-broader
-.-
Transformer houses. Wow
But what happens if its windy or a slope?
looks cold
Just perfect beautiful how much it can cause one of those containers House containers
What I want to know is, how do you put art on the walls?
Next generation mobile home. When can I put my order in for a two story double wide that folds to the size of a shipping container?
Nice
Se puede comprar una estructura como está para traerla a Venezuela, que costo tiene en la fábrica esta vivienda?
Wow i need me one of those
It's a good idea but I kind of question how warm they would be in winter
Awesooome
That's really pretty ingenuous 😏
What is the price?
Good
What happens when it decides to malfunction and close when it wants to?
What about plumbing and electrical stuff?
Perfect for nomads
what software was used to make the first animation
What would be the cost?
How much are they?
Price?
Minary camps here in Chile for example
I would be contented to have atleast one of these...if I end up being homeless....🙏
Gorgeous as a prototype but need to think about plumbing, toilet, etc.
Um… yeah, I have questions…

What happens if the thing malfunctions while the people are in there???
What about the toilet?
It folds your poop down and makes smaller folding houses for mice out of it!
Portable modern commodes for the elderly are small and process waste down to a liquid that you pour away. Probably use something like that.
Nice computer game, but this is the real world.
What about heat loss through the folding walls?
How much do these cost?
The Portman will be having major headache for this project.
I want to see the failed videos when they were first designing this.. there must have been some good carnage videos of this self destructing 🤔
What if there was a malfunction and it folded to closed position while your still in???
Where do the levers go after the house is constructed?
A waste of lever?
Interesting!... But not where you want to be living when the robots turn against us.
I’m diabetic, the robots need blood for them to live normal.
When they need to eat human flesh, they’ll come to life.
The concept is actually pretty reasonable, but this won't work in Canada. Where would you use it? The park?😮🤣🌸~
I bet that there will be a day when people will carry their houses with their hand like a briefcase.
2:08 Clockwork Mansion
Howl's moving castle or the stack from Ready player one?
ahhhhhh....lol
Interesting
Cute idea, never gonna happen
What happens if it closes with you in it
Wow

Must be expensive.
Solar with transitional bullit proof glass please
What happened if you sleep and your house is close (shutdown)
