came here after my first game to make sure that i got all the rules right. except negative points for discarded tiles, we indeed played it correctly. Yours is a perfect tutorial for this game. instead of including paper rulebooks, game designers should be linking to your tutorials! way more time efficient!
Just want to say that I sincerely appreciate the work and professionalism on display in all of y’all’s videos. I know I can always count on an excellent tutorial/rules overview from you two. Thank you!
There are few things differents in the rule book. For example 1) The first phase ends when the factories are empty (the rule dont say anything about the stock in the middle) 2) When you place a tile you must pay the number of tiles figure in the board in addition to the tile you placed (if you played in 1, then you must pay 1 addiontional) I miss understood this rules?.
Excellent quick overview. I like how succinct it was. A great reminder of how to play after having my copy of the game sit gathering dust for quite some time. Just what I needed to get it back to the table. Thanks!
Great job! Thanks for explaining everything- all the rules. You made it very easy to understand how to play this game. Most reviews skip a few steps, but you did a fast and run through of the rules.
very helpful ! i have only played original azul, and i think forgoing of the column / abacus style design and giving a specified colors circles makes this more kid friendly (i e me also !)
What kind of tiles do you pay for placing in the center-multi color star? The same color of the one you are placing or any kind of color? For example if I want to place a yellow tile in the center star with a number '3', should I pay 2 extra yellow tiles to the discard tower, or 2 extra tiles of any color?
We played our first game of this last night. Knew I'd made a few errors in the teach so watched you video afterwards. Great job, as always. It should make our next play of Summer Pavilion better. One question; can you place on the same flower on the same Phase 2? For example, if I had three reds, could I place on the '1' red space, and then use the remaining reds to place on the '2' space?
Hi, Always Play Blue. Yes, you can build on the same flower multiple times in the same Phase 2, as long as each build is on a different turn. (This differs from the original Azul when only one placement could be made on each tile row per round)
Thanks guys, one of the best and most accurate overviews I have watched so far. One quick question for 3:51. I see that we can pick tiles from the center of the table without having to finish the tiles in the factories. I see that you are taking from the center while there are still two red and two yellow tiles in one factory. Am I right?
Yes, correct. Other than on the very first selection (when the centre is empty), you can take from the centre at any time when there are coloured tiles there.
Nice work. One question, how do you fill the middle star? Is it 3 tiles of same colour to cover the 3 or can you use 3 different coloured tiles to cover it or is it just one tile to cover any space?
Great video but I have a question. When and in what way to you use the tiles you’ve saved in the corners. Ex. Do you add them to your collection in the next round and play as usual or do they stay in the corners until used even if it takes more than one round. I can’t find information on what happens to them anywhere.
Barbara, good question. It works like your first option: you re-add the stored tiles to your collection for free use next round. You then have a new choice of four tiles stored at the end of each round.

You're welcome Paolo!
I felt this is very similar to Azul: Sintra. Felt like playing the same game..
Probably the most similar to the original one, except the chocolate one, pretty much re theme :)

I am interested in answer to this too. Could not figure it out.

Hi. For the reverse side of the board, you will need three tiles of the same colour to place one tile of that colour.
