    Most clear, concise explanation of how to play the game I found. Great job! 👍🏼

    Thank you for the succinct tutorial. I watched the video a few times before playing with others who have been playing this game for a while. I had to keep correcting them about the rules of play I learned from the video! We actually had to restart the game. In the end, everyone was happy because it was a better gaming experience. Scoring was super tight with four players. Of course the teacher won😊

    Watching many videos on Azul games and this one seems to be most liked along with original. Played original twice when first out and ok but want to try again. Haven,t played this one yet. Want to get one of them.

    Is it possible DURING THE SAME TURN placing tiles from the same color pile more than once ? For example if you have accumulated 5 red tiles that turn, using 3 of them to fill the number 3 spot and the remaining 2 to fill the number 2 spot....
    It is not specified in the rule book.

      You're allowed to do this.

    • @GameandParty
      @GameandParty  5 років тому +3

      Great question, No, you may only place one tile per turn when placing tiles, this affects the surrounding of the symbols that let you take tiles from the center board, so only one tile per turn

    • @mauriandlaw
      @mauriandlaw 5 років тому +2

      @@GameandParty thanks for the answer.
      So if I understand well, in a 2 player game We draft all the tiles from the middle and put them aside next to the board, then we start placing them , I place one (red for example), then my opponent place one, then it comes back to me and i placed another one, this is considered a different turn, the tile can still be red (in a different spot, of course), and so on till We exhaust the tiles, Is this correct ?

    So please clarify...let’s say I collect 8 red tiles in a round. On my first turn, in that round, I can place 4 on the four spot and keep the remaining four, then on my next turn, I can play three on the three spot, and on my next turn, I can play one on my one spot?
    We have been playing, a more challenging way in that you can only play on the spot that maximizes your number of tiles...so picking 8 would mean you could play on the six, but you’d lose two points for the two extra. So you don’t take more tiles than you need in a round. So if you pick up four tiles, you play on the four spot, and then only if you picked up extras from surrounding a statue say, could you pick up two more and play them on the same colored circle on the same turn. It makes the selection process more selective and the order of achieving the extra tiles more strategic since you’d need to play this four first in order to get another two to place on the two spot. I don’t know how we got to this method, but now I’m seeing maybe it’s wrong but it sure makes the game way more challenging.

    • @GameandParty
      @GameandParty  4 роки тому +1

      Yes, that does seem a lot more challenging, but you can cover the number you choose, typically you want to cover a number next to an already covered number to get the bonus for touching tiles.

  • @travisnaganuma2542
    @travisnaganuma2542 4 роки тому +1

    So you said for any tiles that you don’t use after you put your 4 storage tiles down you subtract a point. Do you also subtract points for all of the unused tiles that you had to discard to make up the tile count for placing a given tile on a star? For example if you were going to place a tile on the number six space you have to discard five tiles. Do you also subtract five points for those five tiles?

    • @GameandParty
      @GameandParty  4 роки тому

      No, do not subtract for those tiles spent, only ones left over at the end of the round

  • @wardrich

  • @hickszn
    @hickszn 2 роки тому +1

    I think I understand the concept of “paying” to lay tiles but, does the number on the tile represent the amount of tiles needed IN that same color or just in general?
    And also, do I discard any 5 tiles for placing on tile 6 or only tiles of that same color? I’m still shaky on exactly when to discard the tiles too.

    • @hickszn
      @hickszn 2 роки тому +1

      After finishing the video I think I understand that in order to place a red tile on space 6 I would need at least 6 red tiles and the remaining 5 red tiles would be discarded into the tower?

    Question: if by the end of the round, no one has picked from the middle (1st player tile is not taken), is the next player forced to take it?

    • @GameandParty
      @GameandParty  3 роки тому

      yes, that is correct, you would have to take from the center getting the first player tile and a set of colored tiles, but this usually does not happen because grabbing a large set of tiles from the middle becomes tempting earlier

  • @cmosqueravazquez
    @cmosqueravazquez 4 роки тому +1

    I assume you cant steal wild tiles on that wild color turn. I explain myself, if green is wild color you cant just go for greens on that turn. They are only used as wild when picking up other colors... right?

    Hi...for Azul Summer Pavilion...when scoring for having all the 1's, 2's, 3's, etc does that count the multi-star in the middle as well or just the colored stars? In other words, do you have all the 1's for all 6 colors or all 6 colors plus the multi-star in the middle?

    Can wilds be used in the center to fill in? Like for instance the purples are what you have and you wanna use those to fill in for blue, can you do that? Or better yet, have the two same colors in the center, one is just being a stand in for another...

      @@GameandParty to reply to this question. Let's say all opponents are done and have passed, but you have several tiles left, you place a tile and you get a placement bonus and take one from the scoring board. That is your turn, so would you refill prior to your next turn? This came up in one of my games, I'm assuming yes because you would refill after your first turn is complete.
