Valve are the only company that truly know how to stay true to their fans. Other companies are out just to grab everything from the consumers pocket, it's nice to think Valve treat us right which is why they sell most of their games so cheap and even sometimes give them away for free. L4D is my personal favorite series. But I really wish people would stop complaining about them taking so long to make games. It takes them a long time for a reason hence why there has never been a bad Valve game.
Guys, really! This one and the sequel are BOTH awesome! And it's perfect fun playing this on a console, just as much as on a PC for me and a lot of people. Another great review Mark! Keep it up
I was a big Resident Evil fan, so I preordered the game with high hopes. I was disappointed at first because I was expecting a lot more game length then the four levels (I admit I didn't look much into the game play before hand, since it was one of my first 360 games. I was fond of playing PS2 up until the end of 2008 when I got my 360). The game slowly grew on me, & thanks to its popularity you can always come back to it & find people to play with online.
still remember playing this in 2008, I couldn't get enough of this game.. got all the achievements for it within a month, then after a while there came l4d 2, played it for a while but the levels were just plain boring and weren't as replayable as in the first game.
The AI is ok on medium difficulty or lower but it's infinitely better with human players. But if you can you should get them on PC, they left the 360 version in the dust
I question if online functionality is even a good thing. I mean it's because of the dependence on online that so few games today even have enjoyable single-player experiences, support LAN connections, and so many come in only 70% complete and the other 30% on the disc has to be purchased as DLC. (even though it's not really downloaded)
Idk if this is how anyone else looks at it, but this is how I view the current generation: PC - Huge variety of games. Pretty expensive to keep up with current graphical standards. PS3 - Free Online. 360 - Popular online games/social gaming Wii - Classic Nintendo franchises/nostaliga
one other thing you may not know is the PC version of the game allows for custom maps to be made and played, so if you have the PC version it literally is endless
I agree. For the most part, they have the same games and features but only in a different format. People say the ps3 is buggy, but I have never encountered these problems. The only reason I chose it over xbox Is because I remember my older sister owning the original playstation. I know xbox owners and played the same games I have and see almost no difference in how they play out.
A classic for sure, but I think that Killing Floor surpassed it, though it did come out after it, and is not available for consoles yet, its got classes, 6 player co-op, iron sight shooting, more weapons, etc.
Left 4 Dead was meant to be a PC game, so If you get it on PC instead of Xbox you get the DLCs for free, as well as custom maps, mods and more. Unless you have a crappy pc.
I remember the first time I played this at my cousins place. She alerted the horde and ran into the safe-room while I got lost and hid in a bathroom stall all the way across the map
I'm starting to see how old I am now. Just kidding, nice new review on this kind of recent game. Anyway, would be nice if this guy did more Valve stuff. I'd love a Half Life review even though many would already know about it.
Some games are funner to play on analog sticks than keyboards and mouses, but of course a PC version has many advantages. First of all, you could easily get it for free, you could hack or mod it, and you can do so much more to it.

I'm still playing this online in 2016 on Xbox live.
I like how L4D doesn't even have a tutorial
It just throws you in and points stuff to you as you play, but only the first few times, brilliant
Still playing 13 years after release

One of my all time favorite zombie games.
is it still good single player though, as I have no friends
@MrTURBOJOHN wouldn't it be more expensive to have to upgrade your computer for new games?
favorite game ever made. which is why i am watching a review of the first game 4 years after it has been released. die hard fan here.
I have never played either of the games, should i get the first or second one?
The ending was awesome.
@SweetsTheMan Do you have DRM? - sorry I'm voting for console - besides what the hell kind of control is a keyboard!?

@homecoming1287
Where the hell have you been during E3? :/
what was that song at the beggining?
How is the AI in this game? I got a 360 for christmas and really want to pick this and Left 4 Dead 2 up.
do i need a gold membership to play split screen with my brother?
what exactly does 'achievement unlocked' do? i unlock acheievements all the time and it does nothing in game at all.
@pgf95 whats your computer specs?
@Pain0rDeath Why not just get it on the PC where the "unlimited gameplay" factor is present? To my knowlage, you can't download maps for Xbox.
didn't play it, looks great fun, but when did Zombies became fast ?
Has the original Half Life been reviewed yet?
are you going to review l4d2????
does this game have achievements for PC?
i need the names of the songs you use in your videos D:
can you play this singleplayer? Probably a stupid question
The AI is ok on medium difficulty or lower but it's infinitely better with human players. But if you can you should get them on PC, they left the 360 version in the dust
@Evanator00 what is 1337 ???
you have a good point except for it getting ruined by nintendo.....BUT do you have anything agianst L4D on the vectrex and/or sega 32x?
This game is soo satisfying and addicting, one of the Best games this gen.
whers the flamethrowers???
@datsyuk13rules

This has to be the most suspenseful CGR intro I've ever seen.

@NicolasCageMage There is an option to adjust the sensitivity on the controller. I always play at almost the highest setting.
The more you know.
@SERVER1992 what witch? xD
@bluecipo91 why is that i think is a bit better (melee, more zombies)
Heys guys and gals, I need to know if this is a must buy game for the 360
I've been thinking about getting this game for Xbox, does anybody still play this on Live?
do u hav left for dead 2?
I love your commentary :D.
@lantz8660 im not saying xbox 360 is better than pc but when i play l4d on pc it lags
dude what is your gamer tag for xbox live
@PrehistoricLoathing what about melee weapons, new infected, MORE guns, scavenge, mutations, chainsaw, new grenades, and a jukebox.....
is it on the ps3
cgr gt: wind squid?
@Pizarroconquer
its harder to code for the ps3

@XRaPeRiToX but u can play this on pc, so technically its not a xbox exclusive. Its a microsoft exclusive.
@naathaan13 i get that but i don't get why is 1337 so popular number??
@NicolasCageMage Its ok. It works for the most part. But its nothing compaired to the supirior keyboard/mouse controlls.
Mark has 1,337 videos with the latest Left 4 Dead. Win or Win?
Why not?
It's bothering me that he doesn't shove the zombies at all
Hey, you have good point about the zombies sincerity!
@Yodio12 plus it was $7.50 for both L4D and L4D 2 the other day.
@keshaz12 ya sony payed them alot for portal 2 but wenever they put something on ps3 it doesnt sell well
@Pro21xx spelled "witch" wrong ;)
There aren't any unexpected zombie pop-ups in this game is there? Cause I don't getting scared the **** out of me.
Idk if this is how anyone else looks at it, but this is how I view the current generation:

@YouveGotRedOnYa what is 1337? a clan?

One of the best zombie games out there. Dead Island and L4D2 are my favorites. If you have a PC, get L4D2 cause it comes with the L4D1 campaigns.
you should review the orange box,another valve game
@PUTNAMEINTHISSPOT its on pc and im guessing you have a computer thats either a mac or pc
@jimmy27rule If you mean split screen on your XBox. Then no, but you can only play 2 player locally.
awesome review!!!

The only reason I chose it over xbox Is because I remember my older sister owning the original playstation. its about time you reviewed this awesome game----------- awesome as long as you have some decent friends/ players
second ones much better tho
Do people still play the first LEFT 4 DEAD on PC ???
@robross1992 I don't get it why is that so important?
@MrAnnoyingFreak 1st....what is "leet"?
2nd he has allready a MW review
A classic for sure, but I think that Killing Floor surpassed it, though it did come out after it, and is not available for consoles yet, its got classes, 6 player co-op, iron sight shooting, more weapons, etc.
@Pain0rDeath get a pc then?
You should review Counter-Strike: Source next! It's on discount in Steam right now.
Left 4 Dead was meant to be a PC game, so If you get it on PC instead of Xbox you get the DLCs for free, as well as custom maps, mods and more. Unless you have a crappy pc.
I remember the first time I played this at my cousins place. She alerted the horde and ran into the safe-room while I got lost and hid in a bathroom stall all the way across the map
im kinda disapointed that mark didnt say anything about game's lack of flame thrower.
first words from this guy on the video and i already know its the best review of the game xD
I'm starting to see how old I am now. Just kidding, nice new review on this kind of recent game.
Anyway, would be nice if this guy did more Valve stuff. I'd love a Half Life review even though many would already know about it.
@MrNothing43 if by part 2 you mean l4d2 so just know that 2 l4d1 campagins have already been added and soon the other 2 will so buy it
Hey Mark can you review Transformers war for cybertron. That would be killer.
Some games are funner to play on analog sticks than keyboards and mouses, but of course a PC version has many advantages. First of all, you could easily get it for free, you could hack or mod it, and you can do so much more to it.
@skelzor77: yep it still is and the game is still having updates form time to time
If you mean shove, yes. But in the first game, there were no melee weapons.
