I love the self-control of the interviewer it's honestly top-notch!
Nigerian Aunties/mums really need to stop body shaming, be it slim or plussize no one chose their size/looks. Sometimes, they, as the older people, are the insecure ones, and they try to put it on the younger ones, which is wrong and should definitely stop.

I think we need to start understanding that the older generation is different from us. They were taught a different thing, the same way I argue with my gen z sister about things. Interviews like this should be to educate and make people see your views. This particular interview felt argumentative and choking your views on the woman. She clearly kept saying you’re unattractive TO HER. So decorum and trying to make each other see your perspective should be the concept of these sessions. Remember the difference in view, generations and upbringing. Try to make people see your views WHILE understanding that this view was also pushed when we were kids as millennials. Calling people OROBO and all. Learn to get people to see the light without making them the villain. That’s what this interview was

Being plus size(fat) is affected by genetic and environmental factors which means that some fat people might not really be slim except through surgery, however what's more important is maintaining a healthy BMI between 18.5-25.
I have a friend who is SLIM but his BMI was around 24. I don't even understand how that happened.
Truth is that everyone need to stay healthy and fit. Exercise and eating healthy food is not left for the plus sized people. However, we won't neglect the fact that being obesed which is 'unhealthy' puts you at risk for certain medical conditions e.g hypertension, pregnancy complications, diabetes e.t.c
I guess my point is that everyone need to be healthy and people shouldn't be stereotyped because of how you think they look.

    Wow, wow, wow.
Can we actually internalize the fact that things like body size, skin colour, hair volume, dentition e.t.c. aren't things that people have control over primarily, if you then think to validate based on these things and not only that, force your opinion on people, it becomes a problem.
Generally, life has happened to all of us differently, we can't all be slim, we can't all be light skin...(know this early enough), discipline, self control and being positive have so little to do with body size. There is more to your life than how you look. Have you noticed that when you acheive some things in life, people tend to overlook what they termed standards? Who even made who a judge of standards.
Society has an unending thirst for what they think you should do with your life, so its you that owes yourself the best decisions in life, to be in health, to be confident and attain heights you wish to attain fulfilling purpose.
I am a very Slim lady (emphasis on very Slim) and a lot of people have issues with that, i get bodyshamed often but guess what? That's your opinion, take it up with God, i didn't create myself and until you can successfully create what you think a perfect human is suppose to look like, we have nothing to discuss.

  • @geezforex2635

We should not be cruel to our neighbours, but shaming(constructively and with good intent) is a punishment for poor behaviour. There are advatages of being fat or plus-sized as we now call it, heck some even call it bold or chubby. But the disadvantages are greater. Being fit is the best thing a human can do for him or herself. A body-fat of 25% is okay, we do not need to be professional trainers. Having a healthy BMI is quite difficult in our current society, but it is still very doable. Fasting, exercising and dieitng go a long way to create and maintain a healthy and strong body.

God will help the milllenial and genz generation. Some of the points the woman made is true but the interviewer is still defending no matter what?
Most fat is not natural and yes some fat people have health issues related to the amount of fat in their body.
Whether we like it or not, what makes us fat is the type of food we eat and the quantity we eat, it takes a lot of self discipline to control what we eat so sometimes we like to use big big grammar to cover it up.
Yes, slim people fall sick too and if the sickness is caused by an unhealthy habit they have then they also need to discipline themselves and stop the habit. Soo if someone is getting fat because of what and how much they eat then they need to also discipline themselves.
We need to stop comparing ourselves with people who eat a lot and don’t get fat, that’s their luck, I sometimes wish I am like that but I am not, so I simply tell myself the thruth and try to discipline my eating habits.
The woman made some valid points regarding health.

Infact being plus size will make you conscious of your health. But you see some slim people, especially the ones that don't have any genetic trace of being plus size, they can be careless with their health.

There's something called BMI... once you start getting overweight and going into being obese, you need to watch it
Being obese put you at risk of cardiovascular diseases, osteoarthritis, Diabetes, hypertension etc... major thing is to cut your calorie intake. U can control it if you are intentional about it.
U r obese sister and you are not medically fit as you are at risk of a lot
It's actually about what you eat majorly, work more on your calorie intake sister, if possible see a dietician
Slim people are not saints but I say again , being obese put you at risk of a lot of medical conditions so start with seeing a dietician to help you cut down some calories through their counseling

They said they lost weight so that they can be healthy. I know many plus size ladies that have to get knee cap replacement surgery because of their weight. Please being obese is not the ideal weight of a healthy person. Let's not deceive ourselves, it is not good to mock at people and make them feel less of themselves, it is not also good to be too fat.😊
