Hey man, nice work. If I may offer some helpful experience-based advice for you or anyone planning on tackling this rad ride-improving project... while goo gone or windex will "do the trick" I've had fantastic results using Meguiars hot rims wheel and tire cleaner(NOT TIRE SHINE!!). I feel like it does a better job, it's comparable in price, and it has the added advantage of actually being designed specifically for this purpose. Also, for best results, try this project in warm, dry conditions. I'm pretty impatient as well, but warm, dry conditions will dramatically improve the effectiveness of whichever tire cleaner you choose, as well as greatly improve adhesion, and overall life of the finished project. It's also a good idea to prep the back of the lettering with some isopropyl alcohol and a clean microfiber rag or cotton ball. Just giving credit on a nice job, and offering constructive criticism. Hope this helps.
I'll be sure to do this on my next set! I was in a hurry to have them for SEMA, unfortuately is was cold and raining while doing this so I'm sure that didn't help the adhesion lol.
Now I know you have vwr lowering springs and I like them alot. Do you know if they work with DCC and how are speed bumps and speed tables with it being an inch or two lower?
+Chance Thoroman Not too sure about the DCC but absolutely no problems with speed bumps or anything else. IMO it is the perfect ride height for daily driving.
+Andres Rodriguez Yeah those are great for like a single meet or show but not really for long term usage lol. They look good though don't they! I guess some people don't fancy them.
My guess is the best thing for the tires would have been good old fashion dish soap. Its made to remove grease etc. not good for paint obviously but for your tires and this application its perfect. Goo Gone is oily AF and will prob give you more work, alcohol (which i know you didn't have) might eat the rubber. Seems like it worked out though. Thanks for the vid man also enjoy seeing a fellow mk7 owner/lover and tires look dope.
+jedadiah bauman Good suggestion, seems like that may have been a good alternative. After the first two weeks a bit of touching up was required but since then the tire stickers have seemed to be quite durable. No issues as of yet. Thanks for watching tho mate, great to see fellow Mk7 owners enjoying the content!
+ChiTown Already did a custom Y pipe with muffler and resonator delete setup for it, check out the video! May do a full turbo back in the future. All depends on budget.
yo man! just got into your channel and i have a 2015 GTI! im going to start doing some work on it soon and build for performance on the track while trying to maintain it for everyday use. keep up the good man!
The first two weeks I had to re-apply adhesive here and there about every other day. After that I have only had to glue loose ends down about two or three times. Once these fall off I will be trying another brand to compare.
GrizzlyTV gotcha, been thinking about getting some for my gti but i want to make sure once i put them on i never have to worry about them comming off lol
Ah yeah to be honest if you go this route you need to be dedicated to upkeep to keep them looking good. It will be more work when cleaning your car too because you will need to re-whiten them every time you wash. In the last month only one letter has come loose but none have fallen off yet.
Just subbed I also just got a mk7 in black and love it. Great videos and love the new tire text! Getting my windows tint 30% tomorrow. Have a great holiday
+GrizzlyTV Great contents Bro already subscribed (^^,) Keep it up BTW what's the size of the sticker is it 1 or 1.5 inch? & what's the font of the stickers? I like it
GrizzlyTV Both of us literally have the same exact car and color though lol. But mine is a 2 door. def. looking forward to putting the wheel emblems on too. Love the look.
zues2013 do some research on where this trend came from before u post an ignorant/hater comment on someone's video. rice, with or without hibachi sauce (grizzly lol) is the last thing I think of when I see white font on a tire.

I don't know about the Japanese wheel choice for the hardcore German GTI. Still nice car though. To each his own.
I'm a special snowflake.

Hope you didn't use the car wash brush...
+Jonathan Ruvalcaba Most definitely not lol. If I wash the car I use a wash mit but I only rinsed the car that day.
2 useful minutes, wow.
Honestly most people don't last 30 seconds. Congratulations, you a real one.
Any kind of degreaser would be better
You should have sanded them down a bit first
Sounds like hard work, I don't like hard work.
DANGG!!!!
How to officially 🍚 your ride
+zues2013 Don't forget the Hibachi sauce.
Rice is always better with Hibachi sauce.
zues2013 do some research on where this trend came from before u post an ignorant/hater comment on someone's video. rice, with or without hibachi sauce (grizzly lol) is the last thing I think of when I see white font on a tire.
+Eüro Nasty
Eüro Nasty say what u want about the tire stickers but you still can't explain those cringing fender decals
Way too much talking. Lawd almighty. Had to ff. Did like when I got to where I needed to see.
I clicked in to see TIRE STICKERS - instead I saw a 10 minute over-long self-serving video selfie - thumbs down
+Jet Gardner lol says the dude with a topless selfie as a profile picture. Lmao 😂
