- PART II of Maple Masterclass
We visit sidelands sugarbush and learn the origin story of MES. Dan Crocker gives us a tutorial 7 how to make 8lbs per tap. This location is where MES (Clayton Christie) started building solutions for the maple industry. 🍁 🍁 🍁
The 16ga chimney sweep is the best part of this video. IYKYK.
The loop sadle is something im certainly going to try out! We were there in 2016 for the maplerama tour its was a wealth of knowledge then and even more now.
Nate, there is so much information here. I will be watching these multiple times for sure
Yeah, there's a lot. Just wait. More mind-blowing maple content coming your way!
I have about 4400 taps in NW VT, I'm about 10 minutes away from Georgia Mtn Maples and JR Sloan. I pull excellent vacuum, but struggle to get great yields, always somewhere around 4 lbs. I will absolutely be re-working my woods after this season using this guy's knowledge. Thanks for the videos and the learning experience!!
By far the best video you have did! this gentlemen has a ton of knowledge I wish I had him here at Blue Eye Maple Syrup and Strawberries in Northwestern Pa.Thank again for a great vldeo!!
We are visiting him again tomorrow for a season update!
Looked like a beautiful Vermont day too, great video
I need to know more information on the rope and how it’s connected to the mainline wire
He uses (2) stainless wire ties so it can't slide. I'm pretty sure it was just a knot around the high tensile wire. I will see if I can look at the footage again.
This is GREAT INFORMATION Thanks Nate
He's got some good tips and hints, for sure.
How many Taps per lateral? What does he think about check valve spiles with diaphragm pump on tubing?
As a new guy running line getting sap and listening to the older guy’s information I learn so much thanks Nate keep ‘em coming
Great videos. Thanks for doing this. Probably take forever but links would be awesome. Uniseal, screw pumps, rope, etc.
Good point! Let me see what I can do.
Nate! Love it, great information!!! Greatest content to date.
These are some pretty smart folks we get to meet as we travel the maple belt.
