Some of what Don said reinforces what I've believed for a while that practical maple knowledge is very tribal. One person knows something that others have no clue about and there is no reliable and easily accessible source that can act as a go to reference for getting the latest on what you need to know. In other farming disciplines there are a lot of collaborating sources of readily available information. Not so in the maple business! This guy has a wealth of knowledge that you can't get from anyone else including Cornell university!
Hence, the growing UA-cam channel! If you want to be successful, do the exact opposite of everyone else. Cheer others' successes. Help without expecting anything in return. Share everything you know. Be transparent. Success is not a limited resource. It is an infinite resource.
We are changing some tubing install methods as we update and add new taps. Always something new to learn. Love our MES steam pans and our screw pumps. We are hopefully going to be running probably the biggest vacuum pump ever put on a maple tubing system this year. 980 CFM @28”!
One of your best informative videos. You can find plenty of what we call Yankee ingenuity in Vermont. If you see a problem, find a solution. Look forward to the next one but weather looks favorable for Vermont starting Tuesday so season will get into full swing this week, I might be late in viewing it. All the best to your son in his competition.
Clayton is brilliant. Enjoyed visiting with him and his trips to our sugarhouse. Never met the other guys, but they are obviously a wealth of knowledge.

Good question! I need to do a livestream with Dan Crocker and ask him all of the questions.
