- I had this elderly couple reach out to me because they needed help with their neglected lawn. They both have been sick the last few years. He has had a heart attach and stroke and she suffered a stroke as well. Saying they needed help is not an understatement. This property was insane to say the least. This video is part 1. We got a ton done so far but still a ton left to do. I hope you enjoy the video. I really appreciate all the support.

When I see issues like this it makes me wonder what other things do they need help with. You guys are the BEST! I’m sure this couple feels so blessed!
The back doors being over run with trees so they can't get out is a fire problem. Maybe they can't get out the back anyway because of hording on the inside?
You are correct. They probably need help with personal care, hygiene, domestic duties, grocery shopping and home repair. It is a terrible situation.
You may not realize what a Godsend you truly are for this elderly couple. . . . . it is way more than just "community service" . . . God bless you two guys !

I’ve started helping my elderly neighbour with her garden. I do the front and I persuaded the neighbour on the other side to do the back garden to share the load.
It looks like a $2000 or $3000 job you have done for this elderly couple! You truly are Angels from heaven to do all the hard work you two did for them! Great job guys!

Dont worry about the cost of the job. Most of these people do this to get a LOT of UA-cam views which pays them very well. A video with a million views gets around $2.000. Could
be a lot more depending on advertising. I would love too see some step forward and donate the UA-cam income also. That would be a real hero.

The help you give to the elderly is truly inspiring. My wife and I live in Worcester County Massachusetts. We are both permanently disabled. In the last ten years I've had many health problems twice Doctor's saved my life. We are in our 70s and live in the same house we bought 45 years ago. I recently had my foot amputated and I'm confided to a wheelchair. I was able to maintain our property up until 5 years ago now I have to pay some one to snowblow and mow the lawn every week and trim the hedges. No one works for free around here and no one in the neighborhood has ever helped us not one time. I meticulously maintained our property all these years I don't want it to be neglected now. With all the negativety in the world today you have restored my faith in humanity. God bless you and your family!

Thank you for doing this. You must have a terrible local city government which does not help vulnerble adults. These seniors can no longer handle living on their own. Please make a referrel to your local county assistance for vulnerable adults.
@@mgbsecteacher in st.louis if the city cuts your grass they charge you $500,,,,,I would charge $50 with a push mower.
I really appreciate what you do. You always have these huge projects that you take on. I especially appreciate how you stop and visit with them and make then feel included in the process. We as a nation have forgotten God.
Perhaps help was offered but was declined. You know how old folks can be - they don’t like to bother people. I should know…I am one.😄

My husband and I cant pay teens and adults to get up off the couch playing video games long enough to help us with anything. We used to be able to offer enough to make most people glad to.do it back in the day. Now we are poor. We need our window frames replaced and the roof fixed. We have nobody to help us. If we have enough money to replace things my husband has to do it himself . We are getting into old age and its hard on us. We need siding on our house too. We can't afford it. Our health and finances won't allow it. Long story there. I remember in the 70s , people always offered to help old people and even refused to let them pay. Bible says because of iniquity the love of many will grow cold. Husband borrowed a tractor to get a garden started. Then it started storming. He got sick. And hasn't got it put in. God will have to keep us from starving if things get as bad as they say. I am not able to do much. Old age isn't for sissies. Im a sissie. But thank God for us being able to fix it where we at least have water. And a wonderful lady bought us an air conditioner so we won't die in this Texas heat. God is good. God bless those who help those in need !❤🙏
Thank you for helping this couple out. It's bad enough to have one elderly and disabled but when it's both elderly and disabled that is so devastating and depressing. Believe me I know. Many blessings for your hard work.
I'm sure it's a surprise to you discovering there is hard scape hidden beneath all the years of overgrowth. I enjoy watching you find it and can tell it takes a lot of digging, scraping, shoveling and raking to name a few. Glad you brought all the tools. You and Justin are a great team.

Firstly, it’s admirable that you agreed to tackle such a huge project.
Secondly, wow, those trees are so invasive and it looks like they won’t take long to pop up again.
Finally, congratulations on your noticeable weight loss and I hope you are feeling the benefit of your fitness regime.
It must be a good feeling to lay your head down at night knowing you did unto the LORD to help & for others.I'd like to think I speak for the many other of us seniors that may be in the same position, I'm usually at a loss for words but when I see this I tear up, this means so much to me knowing there are good & caring people such as you both.GOD BLESS.

Yeah always funny trees don’t always grow where you want them to you but they will grow through concrete wood just about anything else! Lol and definitely happy to have Justin back with me! Blessings to you and your family
Tree roots and building foundations are not a good combination, they might have structural problems. It would be prudent for the couple to factor in some very basic house maintenance as well as yard care. Great work you guys, love the channel!
Bless you for helping these people. It was pretty scary seeing the trees growing and actually blocking the door to the outside. Could be so dangerous if there was a fire and their main entrance was compromised. Looking forward to seeing the final transformation. I'm sure you took a load off their minds.

I saw that detail also and yes that was a serious fire hazard. They really opened up their living space if they can now get out there in the yard and enjoy some fresh air and a cup of coffee/tea. You lifted a ton of depression from that property. Meaning it is opened up, cleaned, made safer from tripping hazards, uncovering the paths and making them safe to walk on has made this property much happier looking. It must make them so proud of the work you did. It's not just making it look better for the neighbors it made it safer for the couple that live there. God sees your efforts to be a better helper and he is proud of you two.
It was their back door... to their back yard which was inaccessible to someone in a wheelchair anyway.
If there was a fire and main entrance was “compromised”, someone in a wheelchair wouldn’t be able to get out anyway. Anytime you see a wheelchair ramp, you never see TWO, which would be an alternate egress point for a handicapped resident in case of an emergency.

Hello Mr. Brian: With all the good 👍 you have done over the years & all of your supporters I'll bet we almost fill a stadium. Thank you for your prayers after my wife's 2nd stroke. I'm doing almost everything I can to assist her. We had a home health aid for 3 days & she did nothing but charge us & I still ended up doing everything. Here in N.J. it costs $ 2,000.00 a week for a home health aid. As always my prayers are with you, my buddy Tyler, & the rest of your family. Please stay safe my friend, TMP from N.J.

God bless you for doing this for those people. The older we get the harder it is to take care of these things ourselves. And I'm sure that they are living on social security so they have no income to speak of. I sure wish there was some generous soul in my area, like you, to help us out. Everyone I talked to is money hungry. Like I said before, God bless you, you will be rewarded.

I’m always amazed at how the ‘volunteer’ trees seem to take over a garden there! Excuse my ignorance but where you cut them at ground level, will they grow back or does that kill them?

I realize he told us some of the cuttings were green, implying the rest (how much) was already dead. I also dread the warm-up & spring rains, because it's been my experience that volunteers do indeed revive.
This was my question as well. I’m afraid those trees will just grow back. It won’t make a useable lawn with 10000 tree stumps left in the ground. Maybe we’ll find out in part 2
Much depends on what they do. If someone comes and mows once a week, it'll kill the suckers and new growth as they pop up, and the root system will eventually starve. It can take a year or so, however.
That is a big project you both are getting done. I could only imagine how much work is still not done. Can't wait to see the other videos. Keep up the great work. 👍

Wow. There are just no words to describe my admiration for you. The transformation is incredible. Speaking as a senior citizen myself, it is so easy for your yard to get away from you. I've been hiring a lawn company every year but with these times of stunning inflation, I might have to stop even that. Good going guys.

One good thing about New Zealand is that when the elderly register with the council, a phone call is all that is needed to get their yards maintained at no cost to themselves.

I can't stop saying wow, just wow! You did what I would not think could be done, it is amazing how much work that was and still is not done. They had a forest growing on their property and you tamed it and obliterated it! It is beyond words of thanks how wonderful you are.
