- This time at the Quick Speed Shop I went from hating life with a badly tuned Holley 600 cfm on the Magnum 5.9L in 1980 Dodge W200 to ripping 4000 rpm shifts with a wide ratio truck trans. Win! Jetting issues and choosing the work power valve led to a super rich mixture. Summit Racing came in great with Holley jets and gaskets to fix the problem. This thing runs good now!
Please like, share, and subscribe. I put out new videos every Wednesday and Sunday.

Sounds freaking good man. your getting her dialed in Josh. I love it. Thanks for this AWESOME video. 😁
The 4bbl noise with the open element air cleaner is what I like the most.

I love that its a 5.9 360. I have the same motor, remanufacturered stabbed in my 1998 ram. Not a fast motor but i like tonsay for what it lack in power. It makes up in resiliency. What alternator are you running? Different than the stock 2nd gen trucks for sure
The alternator is the stock 1980 alternator. I switched the front of the engine over to LA accessories to get rid of the serpentine belt.
@@QuickSpeedShop ohhh. Ok I see. 👍🏻
wonder if holley changed the numbers? my highboy 390 ran lean after rebuild so bought brand new holley 650 according to their chart at the time bolted it on ran beautiful right out of the box and I drove that truck like a race car but now holley website recommends 600cfm for 390cid
I'd think 600 cfm would be on the small side for a 390, although, I do have a 600 Edelbrock on my 460. It's doesn't get wound past 3000 rpm and seems to do okay.
did they put the secondary jets in the primary and the primaries in the secondary.Did you check.
I don't think there are secondary jets as this is a single pumper, vacuum secondary 600. It doesn't have the jet plate like the front bowl.
Jet sizing doesn't translate to orifice ID 1:1. They're sized for flow
👍
Holley Sniper it. EFI 1000 times better. Carbs are so inefficient
EFI involves two things I hate, electric fuel pumps and computers.
