Also, it's been a while! Sometimes life throws you a few curve balls but now I'm back and ready to geek out on your voice again :)

HELLO GOOD MORNING I'VE LEARN SO MUCH YOUR INFORMATION I LOVE IT THANK YOU 😊😇
So happy to hear! Thanks for watching :)
I also want to be a singer
@@singgeek what about Apple juice can that ruin your voice
@@singgeek thank you for your Knowledge, but I want to make my voice soft and sweet and thin Voice, and not like My Nose voice, coming the Voice from my Nose, this is the Main Problem for people that want to make their voice Beautiful, please give me tips
@@singgeek Thanks for Knowledge, but give me tips for Soft thin sweet clear voice pleas reply
So in other words, stop drinking everything you like and only drink lukewarm water.
Right!!!😂
If you don't want a good voice, ya go ahead and drink whatever you want but if you want a good voice drink in a limt or try to avoid it. It's really upto you 😒
I know right???I'm a singer but I drink all this apart from acidic Drinks and my voice is good😐
@@elizabethnyamburanjoroge1161 then that's good u drink it wisely not foolishly 😁
I love cold drinks but now I'm avoiding
drinks not to have:
no cold drinks - affects muscles by not letting them be as agile and free for producing sound and singing. it can hurt your voice too.
acidic drinks - soda, coffee, fruit drinks, sports drink, etc. these can cause acid reflux which can cause the vocal chords to swell and be irritated, making singing difficult and possibly painful.
milk based drinks - can also cause acid reflux. it creates a coat on your voice and messes with mucous production.
caffeinated drinks - dehydrates you.
alcoholic drinks - also dehydrated you and is usually cold. a lot of them are carbonated which makes you gassy... which won’t be fun whilst singing (drink responsibly)
you can do all of these after you’re done on stage or performing but never before because it may mess you up!
hope i saved you time! but also feel free to watch the video for some details i could’ve left out
Damien O'Brien Thanks!
Thx
Thanks for writing it!
Thank you for writing this! So many people got so defensive over this so quickly lol. I drink soda milk and juice all the time, but i always make sure to drink a ton of water inbetween having these drinks. And if i have a concert or am practicing, I just drink water until the concert or practice session is over.
BeyondTheRain yes drinking a lot of water helps with that
just started this video...I saw the coffee on the preview and thought “please god no...”
What about tea
Same!
Omg i can't when i saw the coffee
My mom would be like: ugh heck no
guys! this drinks “dont’s” are meant for when you are using you voice for a show or studio. the rest is ok in moderation.
Yea that's right!
When I’m supposed to stop drinking those before a show, how many hours? Thanks :)
rose does stuff Thanks but for professional singers like Broadway with shows almost everyday they didn’t just stop this all the time?
@@LaraditHaut I actually think they stop drinking all the other stuff because if I would be singing on Broadway I would do anything to sound the best I can
@Bloep Bep yes in the case of Broadway singers or show singers I’m sure that when they are working for a musical they eliminate those things for months I’m sure when they’re free they indulge a bit . But they absolutely have to take care of their voice that includes diet (for reflux), sinus es and throat .
So basically, the only liquid we should take is water!!
And herbal tea with honey...
@@stan_dimash7947 i guess so, tea has many benefits for the body, just make sure it has no caffeine, but in general, teas are very healthy
@@stan_dimash7947 What if you're vegan?
unless it as ice in it
Pretty much. I mean, it is the only natural thing to drink and how our entire species survived for millennia
Thank you so so much for your precious advices 🙏💖 I'm preparing to try to get my singing voice back, after 15 years of no singing..
Good video, it's enlightening as you explain why it's bad. Thank you, the cafeinated drinks (coffee and green tea) are hard for me but switching for water is always better!
Definitely, I also love coffee and green tea very much :)
Hey, this is really helpful, some of the voice coaches I met, they usually tell me the same set of drinks to avoid when you're about to sing.
Thank you for sharing your experience and these great tips Ronja!

Well...I did a cover of the sound of silence, and after I was doen
I thought to myself
"I want a soda" so I got a cup of ice and dumped my soda in it drank it... and tried singing again after, and couldn't hit the notes anymore..and that's how I got here.. thank you very much for this. it's very helpful. now I know what to watch out for.😊
That's exactly what my doctor told me. No coffee, alcohol, acidic, or cold drinks. He also told me to avoid hot drinks which you didn't mention. Spicy and saucy food is bad too.
question! what about wasabi, and spices that burn in the nose rather than the throat?
yayy, Im so excited!! I recently found your channel and Subbed to it. This is the first video you posted since I subbed!!! Cant wait for more 😊😊
Aww that is so sweet of you to write :) I'm excited to make more video too.

Gabriel DeRapp, That makes me so happy to hear! I wish you all the best with your singing :)
Hello! Thank you for all your videos, especially the ones about soft palate! In the upcoming videos, if you have time, would you mind explaining how come some times our voices "crack" (for me, it's usually the higher notes or around my 2nd passagio)? what's going on, and how to prevent that? Many thanks!
Welp this explains a lot, I literally have been trying so hard to improve my voice and I legit drink every drink listed on this video, I do drink peppermint honey with a pinch of cinnamon, usually is enough for my voice to “clean up” and be more precise.
Peppermint honey is also one of my go to. Nice one :)
@@singgeek mam , may I know how to prepare pepper mint honey ?
why is it so helpful?? thank you!
Thank you, very helpful ♥️

Hi SingGeek, and thanks for a great video! Can I ask what is your opinion on cheese and butter? Thanks!
Question - water and food go down a different “pipe” the pipe that your vocal folds sit in. How then does the temperature of your water affect your vocal cords? :)

This so nice of her.
Hi I use a CPAP machine even though it has a humidifier when I wake up in the morning my voice feels dried out but nonetheless like a lot of people I do drink more sodas than water and I noticed when I'm on stage singing my voice might crack or squeak because it gets so dried out so I know I need a drink a lot more water..... One music friend of mine mentioned about squeezing or biting a lemon to clear out your throat I'm not sure if that's a good idea or not?
what kinda teas do u drink and what kinda brands?
Hi sizter
I always listen to you and it did work
Hlo I learned so many thing from u but I like one thing from u that is your are replying your subscribers I love it. I have 1 question plz reply can I eat sour things if I want to become a singer.i hope u will reply
Interesting to hear about the Gatorade! For me, it works really well, as it hydrates me quicker than water! A doctor told me once, "Clear pee, clear singing" So I always used to have a bottle of room temperature Gatorade, and personally it really helped me! I do agree that it does make you burp a lot!! hahah Btw great channel!! Love your content!!!
Hi FxMx3, Thanks for adding to the conversation. This is a really good point. In my understanding the electrolytes in Gatorade helps you hydrate faster and this is beneficial for your voice as well as the whole body. If you do not experience acid reflux with Gatorade, and you find that it is actually something that benefits your singing, then that's awesome. Different things work for different people and I think the most important point is to be aware of how your body reacts and go from there :)
@@singgeek Absolutely! Keep posting amazing content!! Love it! :))
@@singgeek Dehydration from caffeinated drinks is a myth. You gain more fluids than you loose.
@@donkeypong1847 quite a lot of these are myths/received wisdom that are not really backed up by evidence.
