I was replaying the Marrakesh because it's remained one of my favorite levels and I didn't even realize I was doing that well till I finished the mission and got a 5 star Silent Assassin rating. Oh I totally know the feeling Ash is talking about though from a different game. I'm trying (with emphasis on trying) to get the plat in Super Street Fighter IV now and the "only" hard thing to do is the hardest thing in the game which is to clear all trials with all original characters. And the difficulty is insane. So far I've cleared only two charaters' trials and they the easiest ones and still it was insanely hard. But the feeling of accomplishment when you clear a trial you've spent days on is incredible. Having said that I'm stuck on the same trial for four days now.XD

Prince of Persia Sands of Time had a parry mechanic that had to be exactly on time to work, but when you got it right, you could parry up to 4 attacks back to back before stabbing them with the dagger and it was so fluid and smooth and felt like you were dancing. It felt so satisfying every time I got it right. Especially those big sword carrying sand monsters that you couldn't jump over. Ahh, just perfect.

Getting gud in God of War. But specifically, doing a jumping overhead smash attack with the axe on a valykrie. The ones where you need to stop their un-blockable explosion attack by throwing your axe at them while they are in the air. If you then sprint at them while they are kneeling on the ground and press R2, Kratos does a jumping overhead smash where he calls the axe back at the peak of his jump and smashes down with a big runic explosion. Such a satisfying combo. But so is every situation where you meaningfully throw the axe, switch to another mode of combat and call it back just in time for another axe attack.

I have to say, one of the oddly satisfying moments was in the 2016 Hitman. On the Sapienza level there is a guard tower near the gate entrance, once compromised I decided, "okay, this is where I make my stand." I'd down them on their way into the tower, how many guards could the game possibly send? Apparently a lot, or infinite as I built up a pile at the tower's doorway and would dump out the window bodies of the guards that made it inside adding to the mass. Eventually the game started to freeze up and glitch from the sheer number of bodies on screen in a heap. Eventually I figured the game would quit on me and I wanted to see the body count, so I finished the mission to receive a total of 0pts after the Non-Target Kill Points were deducted. The satisfaction though was in seeing the game strain to display the amount of bodies but it kept generating more guards.

    Beating Necron in FFIX.
For context, I got the game for my tenth birthday when it had just been released. It rapidly became my favourite game and I got all the way to Trance Kuja before the save data corrupted.
Downloaded it on PS4 during lockdown one and, after a battle where I was convinced he’d won after an unlucky Grand Cross, Steiner hit the finishing blow.

I ended up giving up last time when the diffiiculty spike of the 3rd pantheon hit and the realization came in how much of an impossible task it would be to beat the final pantheon. Now, after jumping back in and getting enough practice in, I managed to make it through the 3rd and 4th pantheon. Now I 'only' have the final pantheon left. It still seems really really hard, but I'm enjoying practice again, and things don't seem as impossible as they used to anymore.

    Defeating the Burst in Furi.
That boss fight has something like 7 phases with the penultimate one being an absolute gauntlet of bullets and laser you need to dodge and dash through while also moving from cover to cover avoiding her sniper fire. Oh and she's invulnerable while in this phase so you have to just wait it out. All to a killer Carpenter Brut Synthwave track.
When I finally did it I had a sliver of health left and had the final phase which involves blocking and parrying some simple attack strings you've dealt with a dozen times earlier in the boss fight, but this time with your hands shaking from the adrenaline. Every time I pulled off a perfect party and recovered some health my shaky hands would mean I messed up the next one and my health kept going right back down to the last hp before I'd manage to get the timing down again. Failure meant starting the whole fight again.
When I somehow managed to pull off that last parry and land the killing blow I pretty much screamed in triumph. I've never felt happier conquering a boss fight knowing there was no exploit, no cheesing, just learning the skills needed to win.

I love collecting as many Relics as I can find in Knack/Knack 2. It's soooooo satisfying to get as big as I possibly can and just mowing down everyone in my path.

Oooh yeah, finally beating Genichiro was satisfying. Almost as satisfying as beating Isshin the Sword Saint. "Hesitate, and you lose." I hesitated and lost a lot.

I like how all of their moments are essentially "earned" or "deserved", a culmination of the effort they've put into the game to learn it so well

The single most satisfying thing in any game is navigating the Ashtray Maze in Control.
Through the entire game you have felt the creeping sense of dread instilled by the constant suggestions from the hiss. You have been in an opressive sound scape that constantly serves to unnerve you. The upsetting chanting filling you with the utmost uneasiness and loss of control. The Ashtray Maze has served to symbolize this loss of control - complete misdirection - no sense of place - a space that denies you.
But then you finally put on the walkman. The lyrics commanding you to take control - drowning out the hiss and their otherworldly chanting. Finally you are in control both over mind and matter. The rooms shifting in place for you, while you rain down vengance on your astral enemies. It is a section of complete badassery - and ultimately satisfaction!

Having never thought I could do the Knight Pantheon, I'm on the verge. I'll bet you can, too!
    The last one? Yeesh.
Oh. You beat Zote. In my game I did things in a weird order so he's alive but stuck in the coliseum. He uh... Isn't in the sage Pantheon. I feel like a fraud.

My recent satisfying thing in gaming is defeating Weiss in FFVIIR intergrade. The music puts you in a trance while you relearn your staggering basics again as you fight a Shojou manga version of Sephiroth. It was really gaming bliss.

I got Demons Souls in 2010 and abandoned in the PS3 because I didn’t understand the game. I returned to From Software in March of 2021 in this order: DS3, Bloodbourne, DS1, Demons Souls (PS3 after 11 years), Sekiro all platinums, and DS2 in course. From software is just different. I feel a young kid challenging my self to beat the stop point I’m in. That feeling that a boss is unbeatable until I read his moves feels like matrix neo, just like you said. That’s pure art. That’s beautiful.
