Big yard sale, whatever is left donate to Salvation Army. Ridiculous waste of space & time. I know its memories but sort it out. So many people pass away w/ so much crap.

yes, he definitely have lot of stuffs people wanna buy. either sell at the fleat market booth or sell as bulk sales to eBay resellers.
Man... as smart as you are. You not doing it right. You got the supporters. Sell postcards, Vinyls, Cassetes, art, everything on your website or make a website if you don't have one. You will be alright. You are a cool guy. A likable person. I am sure people will support you.

I agree. A website or online store would be a great way to build on your YT success. I'm sorry that you gave up your Henna gig, but having a spot on the beach like that...where people can find you in person...was really cool. Interesting people like you and have stories to tell and share, want to take selfies with you, or give you a heads up for their clubs and events, and YT content ideas. Maybe consider doing an official meet-up, or a pop-up. Check out Chrome from Vancity Vanlife. He's doing big things with t-shirts and stickers, a new shop (but, he's had to hire and pay people to help.) It's a lot of work, but he's having fun doing it.
Nah man. The amount of work it takes to sell postcards and stickers is not worth the return. Maybe if he could sell those entire boxes to a stores looking to stock hundreds of postcards, and even then each box is probably worth like $20-$30 at most. Time spent making good YT videos can yield a much better return than dealing with all that. He knows what he's doing, don't think he doesn't understand the cost of this stuff having hustled on the beach for so many years. Mike is the man.

As a fellow German I have to admit that I haven't been able to get rid of a couple of smaller boxes full of cassette tapes myself. I keep trying to tell myself that I could listen to it for free online but then, I'd probably want to make a list of those cassette songs first before chucking them (and even if they sound like chewing gum from constant play LOL). When I moved from Germany I had to get rid of a lot of items that I would have loved to keep. I now only have those 2 boxes of cassette tapes left and a few photo albums. Those times will never come back!
dealing with storage and throwing stuff away is an existential crisis for many of us so this brings up my own memories and stuff; I think your storage unit looks really organized!

Yep, Goodwill promotes themselves as a "job training" opportunity for some, but they get most of their inventory for free and their prices have escalated and quality of their wares (especially clothing) has diminished. I rarely patronize them anymore.

Last year I FINALLY unloaded the last of my storage items, and it felt GREAT! It's so worth it to feel unburdened. I spent a couple years working at it and sold A LOT of the things I had. I used local networks to sell most of it except for items that I knew had a good market on EBay. Once you get into the groove of it, it's not too hard and doesn't take a bunch of time. If you start picking away at that pile you can get through it in a year easily. Maybe you have a friend in Venice who will let you set up a table of stuff to sell for items like hats, postcards, etc.
Mike, I think you have a lot of opportunity in that storage unit. Whether it’s eBay or a swap meet booth, or some items in a rented booth in someone’s shop. It seems like some of those “vintage” items would be great sold to people who buy props for movies, people also buy those types of items for restaurants as decor. In the end, you have cash in hand. Not judging, I have stuff too, and I clean out and sell, give away.. and it is freeing. Not easy to get started and do, but once you get going it becomes easier. Peace and love.

There will be a lot of people with a lot of ideas of how you can sell some of your inventory. So many people know you and love you, even 1 of those postcards would be worth 10 times much if you autographed it. And I know you are about giving people great value, but don't sell yourself short! Also, I know how overwhelming it is to see all of that stuff. Nothing needs to be done today. Take a breath, take some time, ask around, and then take action!

I think most people in the U.S., are burdened with stuff. It accumulates over the years, and adds up to a lot. I've been getting rid of my things for years. I rented space at craft fairs & tailgate sales, to do it. At least I got the money back for what I paid for things. Now, I think before I buy anything, because I do not want to be cluttered ever again.
