    When I hear these cases I always find it so unbelievable that people actually live their lives this way. One crappy decision leads to another crappy decision which ends in murder. Such sad pathetic lives...and deaths. 🤷‍♀️

      Bad decisions lead to bad food for life. Jail food. Why would you indulge your horrible impulses, harm someone, and condemn yourself to jail food? For life? They don't put that stuff on Instagram.

    • @aarondavis8943
      @aarondavis8943 Рік тому

      Yeah but none of those crappy decisions lead to murder unless you are capable of murder. And you can't manipulate someone to commit murder if it isn't already deeply part of their nature. Ashley is probably a psychopath herself which would partly explain her attraction to a sadistic bonehead like Tracy.

      When you put it this way, it reminded me that one good decision can lead to another. Hopefully watching these encourages us all to try to interrupt and reverse these downward cycles in our own lives (though I optimistically hope that ours are less dramatic than these cases!). Loved your comment.

      It makes no logical sense... but I have seen this same behavior in many female friends of mine-- a pattern of romantic attraction to dangerous or criminal behavior-- and then inevitably those relationships end horribly, sometimes damaging friends and family as the relationship comes crashing apart... and the the female goes and does the same thing again and again over and over again with the same result for years. Maybe Dr.Grande can explain why some women have this pattern of behavior, and inability to learn from it to change the pattern.

      @Angel Arch The majority of people would reject this guy outright once they found out about his violent criminal charge, regardless of whether they believed his story or not. Very few people want to deal with that kind baggage. Men/women like Tracey have a kind of radar that can detect stupid, naive or poor judgement. When they get the signal, like carrion flies they make their connection.

    One last thing Dr. G.
    I just wanted to thank you. Because of your videos, I was able to recognize some negative "things" within myself that I didn't recognize before. Truthfully, I wasn't self-aware. I'm now seeing a psychiatrist and therapist. I'm getting professional help to improve myself and become a better person. I was recently enrolled in DBT and just had my first group session, which went well. I just learned about "DEER MAN" which is helping me regulate my emotions, among other things. I know it hasn't been long, but I can already tell that my personal relationships are starting to improve, which is slowly increasing my quality of life. Surprisingly, my fiancé made a comment about it. For the first time in a long time, I'm optimistic about the future. I can't thank you enough for helping me realize that I needed help.

Don't ever think that you won't get sent to prison for a crime that you didn't commit. I don't care what kind of person he is. Tracey sure was a dreamer. Thinking he came anywhere near looking remotely like those celebrities enough to be their body doubles. That was the funny. I will never understand why a woman is so easily fooled by a mans looks, and vice versa. Looks means nothing. Intellect, kindness and respect means everything. Once a man or woman disrespect you, just once, leave. If you allow them to get away with it once you've just told them they are free to do it again and again until they've broken you. No one is worth that. Life is better alone.

      I've seen documentaries about the case before, and it is very clear that he was the manipulator and she the young, naive and scared party who craved love and wanted to 'save' her man and thus, sadly, was all too easily manipulated. She also was sorry for her deed (and very guilt-ridden), something he will probably never be. How anyone can find him attractive is beyond me, he gives me the creeps. Love Dr. Grandes slight: "One would think that this would be a hopeful thought […]. Never finding somebody like Tracy Humphrey would be a good thing." And horses are actually highly sensitive and intelligent beings (but because they are usually kind and gentle and flight animals, people often don't give them credit for that), so: well done, horse and horse-human ❤️❤️!!

    • @itsmackenzie
      @itsmackenzie 2 роки тому +6

      @@ember1794 I've seen a documentary on this as well and I agree. It's been a while but if I remember correctly when Ashley met him she was a young, overweight, naive, insecure girl. Tracey put her down for her weight, controlled what she ate, forced her to exercise, etc. I don't think she had the best homelife either. Tracey manipulated her from the beginning. Probably love bombed her in the beginning before turning into an abuser. Not saying Ashley doesn't deserve what she got, but sometimes it is hard not to feel a little bad for someone like Ashley, who probably would have never committed a crime if she didn't meet Tracy.

      yes that would be useful to look at his upbringing. He could have had experienced some type of violence in his childhood too. That could have influenced him to have that immature type of personality. The behaviour that includes tantrums and demands of being liked by all ppl around usually stops at 3ish yo. Being immature at this age leads to disappointment with ppl and life in general, then leads to aggressiveness, manipulations and so one. Sorry for my lengthy speculations.

    Another excellent analysis. I would like to say though, I think you’re missing a great opportunity, especially in cases like this, to offer insight into situations where someone watching might find themselves in their own lives, or their friends and family. For instance, narcissistic abuse, the power of trauma bonding, the superficial charm of (somatic?) narcissists… when Ashley said she was worried she would never find somebody like Tracy, that would be an excellent opportunity to mention the absolutely addicting patterns within narcissistic/codependent relationships; how individuals who have an unhealthy paradigm of how relationships should work can find healthy relationships…. sort of boring. Like, without the extreme highs and lows of abusive relationships, people with histories of trauma might find healthy, supportive partners dull and monochromatic. Anyway, just a thought. Great work.

    Dr. G, I have a random question.
    When you watch movies, do you shut off your analytical mind, or are you constantly "speculating about what might be happening" with every character? For example, when you watched The Dark Knight for the first time, were you questioning the Joker's openness to new experiences? Do you consider "ocean" with most villains? Or, do just shut off your mind and watch the movie? lol I'm genuinely curious how your mind works.
