So the custom ringtone for special people like family members, but can the setting be quiet for all others? That would be great for those who get so many messages that we sound like an arcade game. I hope it works that way.

iPhone X? You should be able to get all (most?) of this on that, providing you are using iOS 15.

Hi! Thank you for your video! The text features are cool but what words do you use for fireworks, heart and beam and the ones for screen? I have my display set as zoom and since the dynamic island is at the top on the 14 Pro it blocks me from switching to the screen effects. Thanks for your help!!
I think Happy New Year gets you fireworks. Pew pew is lasers. Not sure if there is a word trigger for the hearts.
Awesome content Gary thank you. In order to hide alerts in a group chat do all the people in that chat have to have an iPhone? I'm in a group chat and have "hide alerts" turned on but continue to get alerts. Thank you.
Not sure, but it makes sense that if some have SMS instead of iMessage then it may not work the same way.

I think you have them, right? Just without face movements. Those require the true depth camera.

Hey garry, hope you will read this message because i'm so pissed of with mac because in windows by pressing control and scroll up or down we can zoom the content zoom in or out but in mac there is a option but it zoom(maginifine) the whole screen which i dint want if you have any solution for it please please reply.

Wow... awesome job!! I learned a lot!Here is. question for you. My number one feature request would be to have "folders" to group various types of contacts into appropriate "folder" . Example, I have 24 tenants at one of my buildings. Would be great to click a folder and just see those tenants. Another folder might be my web design clients. Etc,,, Any way to do this? ;-)
No, no way to do that. But you can customize the icon for your tenants to all look the same at least.

“Shall I watch it? Nah!, been using Messages app for years” - OMG what? Especially that space-trackpad thing… (oh yes, works in other apps too)
Very interesting and great fun. Just one thing - on my plan at least, I get charged extra for doing anything fancy with the messages so I just do straight texts (which is a shame)
For the most part the "fancy" stuff is for iMessages (Apple to Apple) and iMessages is an Internet service, not SMS. So not only shouldn't you get charged extra, but your carrier doesn't even know you are sending messages.
Hi I have only subscribed to your channel recently and enjoy your tips and tricks but I would like to point out you could be more inclusive to those of us who are blind. Or vision impaired, according the the WHO (world health organisation) there are over 30 million people world wide who are blind and over 300 million people worl wide who have a moderate to severe vision impairment so it makes great sense to try and include us. If you go into settings then accessability and turn voice over on as this is what people who are blind or vision impaired use to makke all apple devices accessible, when you show something on screen and do not verbalise what you are doing to showing we have no idea of what is going on so verbalise or turn voice over on would be of. Great help, many thanks for your time on. This matter and keep your video’s. coming Jeff
I send Happy Birthday messages to people all the time using either the balloons or the confetti screen effect, and invariably I hear "how did you do that?" I taught my nephew that trick and he showed it to all of his friends as if it was his discovery. One lady said I "hacked her iPhone" because I did that. Hilarious.
Hoping you can help...my husband's iPhone 12 cannot receive Verification Code Texts from our bank. My phone can. We both have the same version phone and the same carrier (shared plan). I have checked the settings a hundred times and cannot figure out any reason. Tried turning off/on Airplane Mode, re-starting his phone, software is up-to-date. Thanks so much!
As issue with the phone number? Can he receive other texts (not iMessage, but SMS)? Maybe he has SMS turned off? Check with your carrier too as SMS may be disabled there.
@@macmost thank you so much for your reply. I've been holding off forever calling Verizon. I just called them, and they told me that SMS had been turned off by them (Verizon) since 2019. LOL! Yes, he was able to receive/send only to iPhones, not androids. Thanks again! Very much appreciated.
@@deniselupinacci8564 Verizon , I’ll no longer use them . lil fella from the store took my hubbys info . His Apple. I’d and p/w bc they asked for it and hubby innocently didn’t know he shouldn’t have given it out. again , nor should they have asked for it .Hubs don’t look at his stuff like I do and evaluate things as often. but when he did he started seeing charges on his bank account from iTunes and it’s just a big fat mess at this point . 🤦🏻♀️!!!
Two things I like to do with Messages:
1) You can type your flight number and a pop-up will appear that shows the flight status.
2) You can send a message to your own number as a note or reminder.
How to do #2?

There's no good way to do that. I think you need to use special calling services to do it, and then take into account various local laws and such.

If you simply type “I am at” and hit the space bar a prompt appears blow your message to send the location.

I would like them to stop saving my texts. don't need them for 30 days. bTW I was just shipped my new iPhone 13 pro max in alpine green. my previous phone was the 8.
30 days, 1 year or forever are the only options. If 30 days isn't short enough, and you really want to spend time on this, then just delete each message manually as you want. There's no other option.
@@macmost nothing seems to be easy with apple. they want us to do it their way. I have to contact support my phone for messages is not verifying my telephone number

When I send a picture in a text from my iPhone 11 to my wife iPhone 11 the picture is blurry ... When I send her a picture I have to email it ...
That’s interesting. is it just your wife or anyone u send a pix to. If u have not sent to anyone else with an iPhone , I’d do so. Then also an android user . see what it does and go from their.
A pity most of my friends use WhatsApp so I have to use it too!
