- South Carolina's women's basketball team is getting even stronger in their frontcourt next season as they add the No. 3 prospect in the country according to ESPN's HoopGurlz Rankings in five-star forward from Camden, SC, Joyce Edwards. Edwards, however, shouldn't just be viewed as added depth and athleticism for Dawn Staley in the Gamecocks frontcourt, as based on what she displayed in the Nike Hoops Summit against International players this past weekend, the potential is there for her to be the most skilled post player the team has had since A'ja Wilson. Why could that be the case? Andrew breaks down the skills and different ways Edwards can attack defenders, the three 2025 high school prospects to watch in WBB recruiting, and discusses the ongoing situation with Cam Scott and why Lamont Paris and South Carolina's men's basketball team could have another shot at landing the Palmetto State native!

I love Joyce Edwards game and her skill set she is a special talent and should be great for the South Carolina Gamecocks
💯
Well said
Great job my guy.... Joyce is going to rock the WBB world during her tenure @South Carolina get your popcorn ready🎉... 👌🏾💯
Joyce will be immediate impact on the team
Completely agree
Kitts is a BADD GIRL LOVE HER
I Diggs Kitts. Everytime she gets the court I just automatically start singing Do you wanna build a snowman!!! I love real life Ellsa Kitts got ice cold veins she's a walking bucket
We got 3 803 players 👍
excited for the next year..lets go Joyce
What was wrong with the UCANT #1 recruit, Strong in the Nike Hoops Summit game?
We Gamecock FAMS know that Joyce Edwards IS the number one player!!
Yes Joyce Edwards is definitely the #1 player in the country!
I’ve been saying this. Edward’s is much more athletic than Sarah. Besides shooting the 3 and passing the ball
Next year’s theme should be Love extended 😅
I agree it is going to be so much fun 🤩 next year a lot of biting nails! We will win the Championship however we might lose a couple of games! We will learn from and continue to get better Go Gamecocks 🏀🏀
Who do you think we will lose to? Just wondering.
I love Joyce. She's amazing, but I'm not ready to say she'll be better than Boston
That’s why we hired Lamont Paris. He’s got to land this kid and he’s got to start landing some efficient players.
C - Feagin Reserves: Tac and/or Watkins
F - Kitts or Watkins Reserves: Kitts or Watkins and Edwards
G - Tessa or Hall
G - Fulwiley Reserves: Pao
G - Raven Reserves: Pao and Fulwiley
McDaniel still healing helps unmuddy the waters a bit
I just don't see Fulwiley comin off the bench next yr... Watkins & Kitts battle scares me. Kitts is the better overall player, but Watkins athleticism and upside is tremendous...I hate it for coach, cuz somebody's gonna have to sit some
Raven, Fulwiley, Tessa , Fegan and Watkins.... Pao Pao is good but believe her D isn't that of Tessa...
The saving grace for me is that ANY player on this team can be a starter, and I don't think a single one of them care about coming off the bench, especially when the bench out scores the starting line up!
It doesn't matter who starts! It's who finishes the whipping our Ladies will be putting on the poor team we're playing!
Just Love the future of the Ladygamecocks basketball.
gamecocks don't need any center transfer. Play Feagin at Center w Joyce as her backup, she's that talented can play all 5 positions.
Joyce is not a center
@@rover7139 it's a good thing Dawn doesn't care what you think. She will play where she is needed.
@@BillyBobCooter lol...the pot calling the kettle black, tell your self that kid.
And stop talking about basketball you're embarrassing yourself.
@@rover7139 i hear a lot crying, your diapers might need a change kid.
Everyone is just glad you stop talking basketball .
Most teams would be ib in top 10 if they had Lady's class coming in. This program is built to win it all every year. Dawn will figure the rotation. Enjoy this dynasty because it won't last forever. If we hadn't lost that game to Iowa in 23 , we'd be going for 3 straight perfect seasons.
I see more of the same..... TOTAL DOMINATION..... again....then again ....and again!I just hope all our Ladies stay healthy and safe! And stay in school! Be safe my friends peace out and..., Go Gamecocks Go Ride Gamecocks Ride! Hello from Missouri today!
Welcome aboard
Fuwiley will start over Pau Pau. She made the decision to play one more year and that is awesome for the Lady Gamecocks, but Fuwiley wants it more
I think I could foresee Paopao starting and still getting around 20 minutes a game, but I agree with you in the sense that I think Fulwiley will eat into some of those minutes this season.
It's Breezy that Lay should replace in the starting line up.
I THINK CAM WILL COMMIT TO US
The problem with his overall analysis is he is not considering the LOYALTY that Dawn has with her players who have produced for the program. Winning national championships and those who contributed to that is important to Dawn. Yes, Edwards will play meaningful minutes and be in the rotation, but that does not mean Watkins or Kitts will be less important. Second, he's not considering any improvements these players will make going into a new year. Kitts will be stronger and is by far the best shooter of the forwards. Also, she is a more versatile defender who can play 3s too. Watkins is more of an interior defender. These are tried and tested players. You can say Kitts struggled sometimes, but you can also say look at what she contributed overall. Her numbers were equal to Watkins, especially if you look at the minutes played. But much like Fulwiley, who was a very heralded freshman, Dawn did not start Fulwiley all season and still found a way to incorporate her, as she had the most FG attempts of all players, even with established guards in Raven, Bree, and Pao Pao. Let it play out my guy and don't assume anything.
She going push the starters for min next season so they better be working on there game because she is going to play
SC is loaded but it's Tessa Johnson team, Joyce Edwards is a top freshman but Sarah Strong has a better IQ of the game, shot and passing, by tournament time she's gonna be a handful, with Paige and Fudd they're gonna be a tough out.
There’s a difference between skill and athleticism.
Watkins
Brie Beal
Sacsin
These curls are good but not highly skilled
Free throw shooting , 3 point shooting and dribbling are examples of skills
I agree and think Edwards could back up Hall or Watkins or Kitts.
If they don’t get a portal big
The starting 5 is
Raven
Brie
Pao Pao
Watkins
Kitts/Fagsn
Edwards - replaces Breezy or Kitts/Fagsn
Milaysia - Pao or Raven
Tessa - Breezy or Pao
Gagne - might start at center
Tac -10-12 per game
This team will have fire power for days.
Edwards will start by mid-season and keep the job due to her skill
Your list looks good accept Malaysia Fuwiley will be the starting shooting guard next year. I love Pau Pau but it's Fuwiley turn.
@@raiderguy104 That’s entirely likely but the way the team culture is, She would have to take a big leap to start.
With Pao Pao going to the league likely, that wouldn’t help her development but I could see them switching off and on starts at best but Milaysia coming in sooner.
They’ll work that out.
Agreed her starting or not is not important, she will play solid minutes and SC will once again overwhelm their opposition with minute by minute sufficating hell. 💯👌🏾
@@earlismarks7108 AMEN!
USC starting 5 ,raven poa,fuwiley,Watkins,edwards
Hall will be one of the starters due to her length and experience, but I can see someone like a Tessa Johnson eating into some of those minutes next season.
I’m not entirely sold on Watkins being the starting five. Could wind up being totally wrong, but we’re not talking Auburn and Kentucky, we’re talking 30+ games being at that spot.
No way Brezzy Hall isn't a starter!
@@virgilwimberly2071 we see
Aw stop it u just gonna leave off feagin and Bree hall who started most of the season this year
Bree will definitely be a starter
Do you have something against Khloe Kitts
I think that Chloe had some trouble dealing with the physicality at the four spot this season. Granted, she’s a freshman by age, so maybe that’s being harsh, but it was tough for her at times, and Watkins eventually became the starter in that spot.
If she’s going to remain at the four, she’ll have to hit the ground running this offseason, because Joyce Edwards isn’t getting garbage time minutes with what she can do.
Watkins is going to have to play center because all of these forwards someone’s getting the short end of the stick
And what would be the short end of the stick, because they all seem to get playing time.
I think you might be a undercover fan
@@raiderguy104 right now Saniya feagen and Chloe kitts some games get limited minutes and I think Watkins played less then ten in the natty so add another forward who’s potentially better then all three forwards and I just don’t see it working out for one or two of them it’s not a bad problem to have just would love to see how Dawn juggles
Someone will either have to play more at the wing, or like you said will be left unhappy.
I just don’t see Watkins as the center. Like Feagin at that spot more.
No way Beers comes here
I agree, but we don't need her anyway.
Why would you think Beers wouldn't come??
Andrew Lyon doesn't know what he is talking about.
Noo the most skilled is sonia feagin don't get it twisted
In love feagin ,but you got it twisted .
Joyce Edwards by helping to get environmental engineering AKA Trasnvestite major excites "I don't know what a woman is" coach.
I think Joyce is 6'3". Standing next to 6'2" Sarah Strong, she is clearly taller.
Alexander has committed to Cincinnati, from what i can see.
