Hope you all enjoyed today’s video😊
This is so great to see you and Grandma Ok reacting/meeting unique people (especially in a conservative country as Korea) !! I’m enjoying this so much 🥺 할머니는 정말 좋은 사람이에요 ㅠ 천사 일 줄 알았는데
Honestly, that end had me crying too :'3 bless them both!
Same, I got all teary eyed!
Don't worry we did too
You have to be so proud of your lovely grandmother. She's so kind. This brave young woman was awesome too!
Grandma OK being like "Do you have a boyfriend? Does he have a good job?" is the best energy. Grandma's always looking out for everyone and their security and happiness. What an angel upon this earth.
"When are you getting married?" 👀 Peak grandma energy. She won't judge you for being trans, but she'll judge him for being a scrub and not making an honest woman out of you, and P.S. when is she getting her invite, young lady????
Right!! She is the best
Grandma: Does he have a good job?
Me: Grandma OK always asking the important Grandma questions
“I did surgery to become a woman, not a Barbie doll.”
-A strong, beautiful woman named Pungja.
I love her so much 💗
She's so iconic
What an amazing line 🙂 so true
@@Gotsui ikr 💗🌸
@@fd3 yes 😭✨
Don't quote her wrong, not wanting to be a barbie and having surgery are two entire different topics. Also you don't need surgery in order to become a wo/man, you are what you are, and those operations just make you look like what always has been there. Even without operations, she still would be a woman.
I wish everyone had a grandma like this, it’s so sad that so many parents don’t support their own children just because of things like this..
It takes a LOT more than just having sex to be a decent parent for sure.
Yes fr true
My grandma: I’m a hardcore Catholic, will never waiver.
Me: what if I was gay? Wanted an abortion?
Grandma: I’d find you a girlfriend and pay the clinic. 🤣
I love that woman.
My grandparents parents on my mom side had their minds set for if your happy we won't judge. They just loved people and as long as that person is happy their fine with it. Everyone different. Like I'm gay but my dad parents hate it but my mom parents support me and told them if I'm happy they hope I find a lovely women to share happiness with.
Yes defintley
Pungja talking about how happy she is in her relationship with her boyfriend and his family made me smile so wide, and Grandma Ok asking to be invited to the wedding made me tear up, I wish both ladies health and happiness in the future ♥️♥️♥️
I know! I was so happy when Grandma Ok asked to be invited! I bet Pungja feels like a granddaughter to her! 💕💕 I hope they both live happy and healthy lives too! They are both amazing!
"Well, of course, you are a woman."
Most accepting grandmother ever!
She is a woman. We can all learn from this. #transwomenarewomen
Everyone's talking about Grandma OK, but I just want to take the time to appreciate pungja because everything must've been so hard for her, as changing your physical gender is *not* an easy thing, especially when you have to go through it by yourself. But because she stayed strong, I think that she's a beautiful woman inside and out. They're both so inspiring 🥺
This!! Pungja is such a strong woman, even after having to face all those difficulties she's still very positive and grateful, she also said that her life's very privileged, what a strong woman 🥺🥺
@@NekoPanda122 and the fact that she's so thankful for everything, and managed to stay so humble is just amazing
@@user-vc5yh4vn1p The right term for 'physical gender' is sex, or biological sex. Just correcting the terminology ☺️
@@petkamoravcikova thanks :) But I was just trying to describe that she never really changed her gender because she was always a woman, but she was born physically in a male body. So, I was just trying to emphasize that she only changed her physical appearance in easier words.
@@user-vc5yh4vn1p That's the point of distinguishing between "gender" - which describes identity, and "sex" - which describes the physical features. "Phyiscal gender" is not the correct terminology - gender is not physical, sex is. She didn't "change her physical gender", she adjusted her body to finally fit her gender.
:)
I'm so relieved to know she lives the life she wants and found someone who understands her ! That's so heartwarming to know that her boyfriend's family accepted her as she is and gives her a lot of love ! May she be happy forever ! Fighting !
This grandma is very open-minded. Of course, she still has some misconceptions, for example, a trans woman doesn't owe to be conventionally pretty or "to pass as a cis woman" to be valid. But I know that she doesn't mean any of this in a negative way, she just genuinely tries and does her best to overcome her own prejudices with an open heart and it makes me truly happy!! 🥰
I think Grandma Ok was just blown away by how beautiful Pungja is, she has a pure heart 💕😌
It’s crazy that it took her longer to be exempted from military service than to actually attend and do it. Being trans is hard everywhere but I’ve never heard the point of view of a Korean trans person so this part was very interesting to hear. Also, trans women who look masculine are just as valid but Pungja is crazy pretty
The first Korean person i heard not obsessing on being skinny as the ideal body type. Kudos girl. You are an inspiration.
Wish everyone was as compassionate and understanding, non-judgemental as grandma OK.
I love that her boyfriend's family was so accepting.
Grandma's face when she heard that made me cry. Like she wasn't expecting that, and it made her so happy and relieved
Yeah that is so great!!!!!
I'm crying. This is honestly the sweetest thing ive ever seen because I was raised by parents who don't understand and a grandma can understand....never in a million years would my family understand but your grandma does...... So sweet
it ok you're not alone 😭😭😭
💗💗😞
idk if you need to hear this but i understand. being cis or trans is just a natural thing that happens and nobody should ever be shamed for that. i'm lucky to be in a country where a lot of the transition surgeries and therapies are free. i witnessed some of my friends blossom into their real selves and be awesome and beautiful; i feel so lucky to know and support them. maybe it's not much but i support whatever you want to be, cis or trans or whatever you are on the spectrum. love from quebec
"some people will never understand, and they don't have to." Idk why that's such a powerful statement to me. Maybe it's better to not fight to change people's minds, and just live your best life
Last time I saw your name, you were making comments on "Tale of 1000 stars"
I agree. Unfortunately only people who are open to change will try to see new perspectives and respect what they don't understand, there are a lot of people in the world who are too stubborn and set in their ways to do so, and it's not worth using up your energy and frustration on them.
It really stuck with me too. Sometimes it feels like we HAVE to convince people to understand us, but if someone isn't open to understanding, it's not a fight worth taking on. You're right about living your best life regardless of what people think. Sometimes that's a lot more impactful that arguing.
Exactly. Always remember: you do you.
@@orlane97432 oh really?? Lol I watched that series pretty late after it released, so I didn't think anyone would see my comments lol. Thats pretty cool to see you recognize me in a completely different area of UA-cam, thats fun
I love that Grandma is so understanding and still so a grandma: “do you have a boyfriend? When will you get married?”
I'm so sorry i don't speak korean and you probably don't understand this but you are such an inspiration to me and i hope to be just as cool of a woman as you❤😊
i am also transgender and i just wanted to say i am proud of you
This was so heart warming 🥺🥺🥺 I was between crying in sadness for the difficulties with your father, pride for grandmother and the joy of watching this episode. ❤️❤️❤️
Why don't you have a voice feminisation surgery at Yeson Voice Center? You definitely need it.
@@berkedemirezen2540 no she definitely doesn’t.
I cried watching the first part when she mentioned her father, and I cried again in this part when she talked about how blessed she is. She is so strong and positive, I definitely want to learn to be more like her. I wish her all the best!
I was very surprised (also pleased at times) about the military thing. The process surely wasn't a pleasure to go through, but the fact that the trans community is acknowledged and has the possibility to ask for exemption sounds pretty good to me, or fair at least.
I wonder what would happen vice versa, I mean for a trans man. Would they be able to go to the military?
I think trans men have to go through the same process? All the paperwork to prove that they will live their lives as men and probably counseling too like this woman did.
@@brigittesnelson2354 I'm really curious about this topic now, because I never thought about it before listening to this conversation. I think you might be right but at the same time I feel like it could be more difficult for them to get accepted. Mostly because the military system has never been opened to the LGBTQ community and I'm not sure about how a trans man would be welcomed or treated. - Note that for me this consideration is not based on the Korean military system but on every single military system, from whatever country or part of the world. -
Her military story was really interesting because I heard about a case from months ago about a transgendered woman who wanted to serve in the military who was discharged and later found dead.
@@aznmochibunny what! That is so sad... 😔
@@aznmochibunny I’ve heard about that one too 🥺🥺 💔
"you will look stunning in a wedding dress" i am crying
Grandma Ok is the purest soul out there. So gentle, so kind, so loving, so nurturing, she deserves nothing but the best life has to offer. ❤️
I just love how accepting grandma is to everyone
So many feels, I'm bawling like a baby. I'm so happy for Pungja, finding herself, finding love, and she is so pretty too. Grandma OK is the most wholesome loving person on the plant. I want to give them both big hugs!!!!
Two amazing women. Makes me proud of my Korean heritage seeing this.
I love Grandma OK! What an amazingly open and loving person she is. Her family must be so proud of her.
I love how understanding grandma is
Grandma Ok being so thoughtful and kind towards many people of different walks of life warms my heart
Such a sweet pair of women! Grandma OK is a natural interviewer! She is so sincere and compassionate. She makes everyone comfortable. I want to hang out with her. She reminds me of my mom.
I love how grandma ok was honest about her expectations at the end ! She knows that pungja is a real woman, and that her initial thoughts before meeting her were wrong and now she has another lovely wedding to attend 😭 she’s completely right though, pungja is beautiful ✨
my heart is literally melting rn this is so cute “does he have a good job?” “when are you two getting married?” XD shes so sweet and supportive also the women (idk her name😭) is extremely beautiful and i absolutely adore her personality 😕☹️
This has been my favourite video on this entire channel so far.
Grandma OK has honestly shone so brightly. Not only was she being educated, she was educating the masses that when you don't judge someone, you can get to know know wonderful person within.
I bet Grandma OK never imagined herself living outside her comfort zone in her sunset years! She truly has a warm, loving soul.
Also, the transgender lady (I cannot remember her name) is such a lovely person too. Sorry you had to endure so much at the hands of others, but jm glad you were wise enough to turn that cruelty in to wisdom and a tougher skin.
I hope you have a truly wonderful life.
Grandma's sigh of relief when she said her boyfriend's family shows love and support 😭😭 she genuinely cares
stop making me cry with these shows! So lovely. I grew up a conservative christian. After 40 years I left. I love watching stuff like this to undo all the braining washing I had in my life.
We need more people like Grandma OK And that's a Fact
My eyes turned into waterfalls, what else can i say... having people who are this understanding reassure me a lot. We need more people like this, cos it really aint that hard to be nice and respectful, even if you don't understand something. That grandmama is the living proof of that, and we (i think) are thankful for that !
This series is amazing! Miss Pungja's story is so inspiring and Grandma ok's kindness is so warm! I think everyone watching this felt like they were getting a hug from her.
I wish every good thing in life for her, and what a blessing grandma is! They are both making the world a better place in their own ways, and we could all use someone in our lives like grandma. She is truly a treasure.
What she was put through by the military sounds so heartbreaking. No one should have to go through a 3 year process to prove what's in your heart no matter strict laws are. She's incredibly strong ❤️
Unfortunately you should have to. Some examples of why; a man called Zuby in UK wanted to prove the issue with self-ID so claimed he was female to enter the UK female weight-lifting championships. He won. All those females who worked har ddidnt stand a chance. He didnt genuinely ID as female but wanted to prove the point. Another example, there was a man claiming to be female who had been put into a womens only prison. He also happened to be a multiple times sex-offender. He ended up raping one of the female inmates. Socially there is no issue with peoppe IDing as the other sex but to keep certain spaces female only we have to know who is actually female. If someone has transitioned then they usually are someone with gender dysphoria and arent someone trying to say use an excuse to get out of military service. If we allow self-ID anyone can attempt to get out of military and then when they're past the age of doing service, somewhere in their 30s, they could revert back to being male. It's too much of a sneaky loophole for people to avoid military. There was one Korean rapper who pulled all his teeth out simply to avoid military. I forget his name but you can find it on a google search.
Grandma OK is so sweet and loving and accepting I love herrr❤❤❤❤
This made me cry. I adore Grandma OK and how she is so kind and accepting and loving and openminded. Wish we had so many more people like Grandma OK in the world. What a wonderful lady!!!
I didn't catch her name but this lady is absolutely beautiful and she is so courageous to fight this fight alone for ten years all I want to do is hug her....
I’m soo happy for Pungja she has found happiness through years of struggle and the ability to find that can be so hard finding that acceptance and finding that love is such a struggle sometimes. I’m so glad she has a loving supportive boyfriend and that her family has become more accepting and that her bf family is supportive.
This whole interaction was so wholesome! I'm happy she has the life she wanted and she's loved plenty! Wish her the best in the future!
Grandma Ok deserves the best of everything. She is a beautiful person and has a beautiful soul. Punja also seems like a beautiful person--inside and out. She has been through a lot of hardship but you can see that she can still see happiness in the world.
I'm so touched! Really my eyes are teary. Your grandma is so understanding and warm. Her attitude touched my heart, even though I'm not a transgender. Also I feel so sorry for what Pungja has to deal with. Good she has love and families that love and accept her. Such a warm video!
I shed a tear at the end. What beautiful souls.
Btwn strangers who've just met, Grandma Ok and Pungja have the sweetest interaction I've seen in a pretty long time!! 🤗🤗
I love how Grandma Ok is so open and forward-thinking, and how comfortable she and Pungja are with each other.
I also agree that Pungja is beautiful... absolutely love her eyes and lips!!
Best wishes to Grandma Ok and to Pungja and her boyfriend!! ❤❤

I can't stop crying T.T
I havent cried in 5 years...this is the closest this video has taken me...so damn wholesome
*Small kindle of faith lit, bits of faith in humanity restored*
Absolute landmark conversation for Korean culture and all cultures. As a Korean American, I'm just blown away.
Grandma is a model of compassion and open-ness, while Pungja is a model of courage. So moving.
This made me cry oh my GOODNESS. What a wonderful encounter. So pure. World - take note.
This grandma truly have the greatest mindset ever, it warms my heart to watch her
9:26 That hug made me tear up :’)
I don't know why I got goosebumps when she told me about how happy she is in her relationship, and how well she is treated by her boyfriend's family. I'm so glad that she found people wo genuinely care about her, and love her for who she is.
Also, it must be terrifying to have to go through that military process... A few pieces of paper to describe who you are, and a long, long wait? What if they deem you 'not a woman' at the end of that? Imagine the pain that would cause to the lady in question. I can understand why such a thing is needed in a country where every guy's supposed to serve their country, I imagine that there's people who would try to get out of it using fake excuses... but as someone who is genuinely going through this life changing procedure it sounds horrible... having people question you like that... I'm just glad it ended well for her.
If you're someone going through this right now... hang in there, show them who you truly are. This weirdo from the Netherlands is supporting you in spirit.
I’m so incredibly happy with Grandma Ok’s reaction and how accepting she was. She is the an amazing example to counter ignorant and bigoted elders who use generational differences to validate their hate against trans people.
I do wonder though: would the reaction and the questions been different had a trans woman who was “tall and muscular” had come in instead. What about if a trans man walked in?
One of the greatest if not the greatest Korean Grandma interviews ever to date thank you both so much
I love Grandma OK. She’s a wonderful human. We could all stand to be just a percentage of the kind of woman she is.
Great to see 2 persons connecting on such an open and honest way and finding respect and interhuman love! Great recording!
This made me so warm inside… Grandma is a blessing and to hear that this young lady is living her best life is nothing but a blessing 🙏🏽
Aww so sweet! This is a great video to help show other Korean netizens too, that there is nothing to fear or hate (fear leads to hatred). I hope some watch it and it helps expand their minds! Grandma OK was wonderful as always! Thanks to Pungja for the interview and being so open!
This was so beautiful it made me shed a couple of tears. I wish all the best for both of these lovely ladies!
This is such a sweet conversation between two amazing people. Wishing Pungja all the best!
Your channel brings me so many laughs, smiles, and hope. I love that you guys are so open and honest. Thanks for being a bit of light in the world. And even the videos of people being hateful, thank you for calling them out. Though this is definitely not one of them. :-) Please give everyone, including your grandmother, a hug from us! We love the channel and you guys. Can't wait to be back in Korea next fall.
We’re so blessed to have Grandma Ok. Just filling up my heart every time I see her. Wholesomeness is next level. ❤️
So sweet! Pungja’s bravery and openness should be an inspiration to all. I went to her UA-cam to check it out, but it looks like it’s mostly livestreams that I can’t keep up with, not knowing Korean. I’ll stay subscribed in case she ever does something in English, I’ll be happy to catch up on her journey 💖
omg I really waited for this pt2! These whole 2 eps were so wholesome and heartwarming and the way the two parties were interacting was so comfortable and friendly that I felt like I am also close to them and was thankful for the fact that I get to see their beautiful lovely conversation. Grandma is very right, Pungja nim is such a beautiful and lovely woman. having an older sister like her would be such a blessing. I wish the best for her and Grandma. these 2 were the loveliest!
Welp. That was a teary eyed session. This was a beautiful interaction.
I'm happy that Pungja is able to live the life she dreamed of. I'm glad she does have love and support of those she's close to. She's obviously went through a lot of painful things to get where she is today and i love how Grandma OK is just a concerned grandmother who is worried about Pungja's wellbeing and looking out for her best interests.
Beautiful.
grandma is really understanding and it’s not easy to find people like that, especially in the older generation.. it’s really nice to see how open she is and how she’s able to see things in others’ perspective💕
I actually love how they also keep grandma's initial prejudice, like expecting her to be tall and muscular or when she asked the gay couple of they have feminine roles. It shows how much we can learn once we communicate and understand, if we listen with an open mind.
Yes! And I think it’s good for people to see that acceptance and understanding is itself a process, and that it’s normal to not fully understand it from the start.
pungja answers soo honestly to these question, you would think that her and grandma kay are just having a casual conversation, without the cameras. such a beautiful video to watch, i hope it inspires others💜💙💗
Oh so heartwarming! The way we can feel so happy watching happiness, here Grandma Ok and Pungja is so unbelievable! So fulfilling to watch this series! Great work channel! So much love and wishes to both the beautiful ladies in this video and also behind the camera :)
I too was drawn to her beautiful eyes!! The sparkles under the eyes is 🔥 Grandma is one of the sweetest most kind women I've ever seen before!
Awww this was lovely. I hadn’t almost forgot that i was waiting for this part 2.
grandma OK being so accepting and open-minded makes me heart ache with happiness.
Your grandmother is a lovely woman, full of love and compassion. She always fills my heart with joy which I see her, and especially in this video. We would all be lucky people indeed to have a grandma like her. I love her
Your Grandmother is such a wonderful woman. Her heart is so open to understanding and accepting others. Her look on life is beautiful and so is she. Big hugs to the both of you for doing these eye opening videos and hugs to the woman who came for the interview. She owes nothing to noone, she is just living her life. Please keep up more videos like this and help break that wall of prejudice against others. In this day and age you would think we would be more understanding towards others but it seems we're just not there yet.

I love this women supporting women. Doesn't matter the time you come from, you can be loving and also supportive to those who seek it. ♡
"I want to swim in your pretty eyes"
That was the most beautiful sentence I've ever heard! Idk if it's common bc i'm french and we don't say that but that was incredible.
Grandma and is so pure, loving and with a beautiful soul ❤ I wish all people could have her compassion and understanding ❤
This world would be a much better place if everyone was like Grandma. She is so special. I love this channel !!
Wonderful! Pungja is so beautiful and so brave! I look forward to the time when women won't ever have to go through what she has had to endure. Examples like you, Zoey, and our beloved Grandma OK, make me think that time is coming soon. Thank you!
Grandma OK warms my heart every video. Thank you for sharing her with us on YT.
