Adding Bluetooth To Micro HIFI! Sony HCD-BX1/CMT-BX1

In this video I cover how I added a cheap BlueTooth module into a micro HIFI system I purchased for my kid back in January 2023. There is a model that looks exactly like this that has BT but I got a little mixed up and bought the wrong one! I knew there were modules available that I could likely stick inside and utilize the line-in circuit to tap into. I just needed to find some acceptable power and it would be easypeasy. Or so I thought.

just curious - what's the benefit of doing it this way versus using one of those bluetooth audio receiver?

Fair question. I just wanted it to be integrated. I thought about hanging a dongle on the front aux but then I would also have to worry about keeping it charged or powered.
