What else do you wanna know? Racing technique suggestions?
@@FTspeed left foot braking (maybe idk kinda seems strait forward), double clutching especially to first (for smooth driving in unpredictable low speed situations), brakingu dorifto
@@FTspeed ah yes, ^ my good friend over here has made some great suggestions already. I want to include learning how to hit the apex, it would be nice to add this technique to his list
Watched this the first time and watching again to support 💪🏽
You're the best :D
You inspired me to go and kill my clutch studying this. I will not regret anything!!!!
nice video as always. When I started it I used to always over rev it, then I realized that all it needs is a touch of throttle and you'll be good to go most of the times
Yeah well you gotta look at for what cars they use, you know. If you just have a lot less torque then obviously you might wanna give it a lil kick to get going so to speak
Nice I actually just bought a manual brz 3 2 days ago . I’m new to manual so I definitely need help lol
I'm getting mine today, first manual car as well. This channel is amazing and very informative!
I just learned so much from you and that’s excluding the heel toe
Heel toe is not always necessary, especially on the street. Turning in the street, a moderate brake will end up with a rpm around 2000 for a proper gear. Then you don’t need a heel toe for downshift, just lift your foot from clutch gently. On the track, though only a super hard and deep break will let you foot get to the position for heel toe. That is actually the wisdom from the engineers who design this car. If you want to practice heel toe downshift, go with hard deep brakes in high revs, not actually the one shown in this video. I don’t try to be picky, just share some of my experience.
The problem with H&T when hard braking is that you might lose the brake pedal in a crucial moment. Though I agree with you that it is easier to H&T when pressing the brake pedal deeper, which brings it at the same level as the throttle.
My guy over here getting some traps
Re-upload gang 🤘🏽
Thanks for sticking around :D
Wish I could heal toe my car but the pedals are to close together. But them being so close allows me to quickly blip the throttle change gear and then break, not as elegant as heal toeing but it works.
Cool vid, I would just remove the background music to hear the motor
Why do they call it heel-toe when it should be called big toe-pinky toe?
watched again ✌🏻✌🏻
You're the best xD
Perfect presentation style. I subscribed
Hey Tomas, were did you put the gopro to record your feet? Ive tried to find a spot in my BRZ to record onboard in circuit but no way...
I used a pedco ultra clamp with a 1/4 20 gopro mount adapter attached to the steering wheel tilt adjustment handle.
FTspeed thanks mate
@@jet_trooper Not a problem. Now go out and get them foot pics.
@@FTspeed After quarentine for sure when I hit back the track!!
Zamn thomassss you a stud
2nd time watching 😤
watcing again for support #reuploadgang
You're the best :D
So exciting
He gotz big feet, you know what THAT means.....big boots.
lol at the end :)
Hey there guys. I have Toyota 86. My exhaust set is invidia N2 with a catless front pipe. I’m ready for the rumble. Any recommendations what headers I should get for the best rumble? Thank you.
No brand rumbles signifiantly more than the other.
You're uel or you're not.
Many thanks for your sharing
Hey FT speed! I want to buy either the invidia N1 or invidia q300 for my BRZ but could you let me know if either Of the exhausts is louder than 95 decibels at 3000RPMS due to California’s dumb law, thank you!
If you have both your cats, you should be fine with either, but if you have either cat removed (from a front pipe upgrade or header swap), the N1 will be way too loud.
R'lyeh the Dead thx for the response, but if I kept my car stock and bought the invidia N1 cat back system with the exhaust and the down pipe (the one for around $500) that’s legal, right?
@@jonnysimps5339 Ah, the down pipe and front pipe are the same thing. If the pipe you want to buy has a cat, you're good. If it doesn't, but has 2 resonators, you're good. If it has 1 resonator or 0, the N1 will likely go illegal. Q300 will be good no matter what you do though.
R'lyeh the Dead Im so sorry if I’m asking too many questions but you said the Q300 would be ok would the R400 also
be ok? appreciate you so much thanks for taking the time for responding
@@jonnysimps5339 You're good bro. The R400 is slightly louder than the Q300, but not by much. Mostly just the tone is changed. Either would be legal in California.
Will I lose mpg for downshifting like this ? Been down shifting with throttle blipping for awhile in my 86.
If you're already rev-matching then braking as you rev-match should actually require less fuel since you're bringing your wheel speed down as you shift, meaning your target RPM for the lower gear is lower, requiring less of a blip to get there. Just don't do it how he shows in the video. Big toe on the brake + little toe blipping the throttle = very little control over braking pressure and a high likelihood of slipping off the brake pedal.
Center the ball of your foot on the brake pedal and move your knee inward. Then kick out your heel to blip the throttle (you'll probably actually hit the gas pedal with the blade of your foot unless you have tiny feet). This gives you FULL control over the brake pedal with the ability to modulate pressure as needed throughout the transition. The way he does it in the video allows for initial braking control, but then when he blips the throttle he's creating a lever action to do it, which releases pressure from the brake pedal. It works when you don't *actually* need to brake very hard, but becomes dangerous under hard braking.
I taught myself how to downshift just by messing around. But the heeltoe thing I am still learning
👍
Posted yesterday? ;)
Yes, Tech tip Wednesday too? There was an audio sync problem with yesterdays upload
Nice video! But I want to see you doing heel toe or foot on gas wearing your black converse chucks in the following videos,it's nicer and more comfortable!
Any information on the gr86 coming out next year?
Sounds like a 260hp 2.4 engine may be coming.
@@FTspeed are you going to have one for the channel?
@@kgthegreatone943 ;)
@@FTspeed will it rev as hard though?
I'm assuming whoever gave thumbs down probably bought the automatic :D
Holy is this a April Fools joke? did not under the video at all, is this expert level? When do I blip the throttle? Right in the middle neutral or after neutral into third to second. Your teaching is to fast my dude.
It think it just means you need to go and keep practicing regular upshifts and downshift and maybe putting car in neutral while braking and then rev matching to the right gear when throttle needs to be applied. Eventually when all that is second nature heel toe will naturally follow. Goodluck fam
Can't do that in the Supra. ;)
Again?
Had to reupload because of an audio sync issue. Feel free to watch it again xD
@FTspeed can I get discount on some sparkplugs please , I was going to change my sparkplugs & some one came & stole all my tools & took my sparkplugs man 😓
So like my comment before, this is not heel toe. What you are doing is more like toe toe. Not recommended as you are intentionally putting your foot at an angle on the edge of the brakes. Can cause a horrible disaster if your foot slips off approaching a curve. Please research proper heel toe before showing viewers bad technique.
Exactly. This is the heel-toe technique for someone who doesn't actually need to brake at all 😂
Instructions unclear. My wife left me.
Now you've got plenty of practice time.
