It still baffles me that we have audio recording of Trump asking Georgia to simply give him an extra "11,780 votes" and just "tell the people that you miscalculated", yet half the country supports him. Because in 2021 there was a (corrupt) republican attorney general Mark Brnovich who obviously didn't want to pursue prosecution and tried to bury it. Kris Mayes was elected in 2022. Then you need time to put the case together, you can't just pop it out like an Egg McMuffin.

In Michigan one elector claimed they forged her signature. In Arizona I think 2 Republican electors wouldn't sign and they put other names on the certificate. Even the fake certificates had fake electors.

The point about them not merely being alternative electors chosen on a contingency basis is absolutely crucial. It's the difference between honest, good faith, preparation for the potential results of pending legal challenge to the election results, and a criminal conspiracy to commit election fraud.
