Thanks... This one took a bit to put together. I did have a quick question for you. Not sure if it is a resolve thing or something with my computer, but in fusion... sometimes...when I make property adjustments (ex changing the position on path for the text path)....the viewer just goes blurred while I am making adjustments, then clears up as soon as I stop making the adjustment. Do you have this issue very much?

@@WilliamJusticeMedia I've seen that on other people's videos, but I don't experience it. Is your Memory Configuration maxed out in the System Preferences? For the travel map wouldn't it be easier to use the "Write on" parameter on the text?
It's also a way to avoid the concave curve at the tip of the line due to the mask. And dashes would appear on full, which is a style choice, but could look like 'footsteps'.

Hi, I have a question. I connected the animation of line and text mask and it was very convenient to animate one node and animation of another one was following. When I do it now the line is positioning in the center of the text mask. Earlier, I could reposition text masks to place it in the right positioning for revealing text right after the line goes.
My actions are 1. Line animation 2. Create rectangle mask 3. Choose the rectangle mask and in the inspector right-click on (Center XY) and choose path 1==>position. Now, this 2 element are connected and the animation of the text mask follow the line. But the line in the center of the rectangle which makes the text reveal the wrong way. Before, I could position the left edge of the rectangle on the line and text was revealed right after the line. What I do wrong?
I know there are other options to match the animation of 2 nodes but I have found this option, this is convenient but I can not repeat it now:( All day try to figure out what is wrong....will not give up until I found the decision. Anybody please help.

Thanks for the question...DId you figure this out? Not sure I am exactly following which part is not working. If there a timestamp in this video that shows what you are trying to setup? Which part of that is not working?

@@WilliamJusticeMedia Thank you for the answer. Here is a stamp I made. drive.google.com/file/d/1R_fhIzMI4b47Ekx4Akft2vA0rUGjkwCA/view?usp=sharing
Earlier I did somehow when the line was on the edge of the text mask rectangle and text was revealed right after the line.

I just came across your channel, but I want to ask if you could make a Slow motion and hyper lapse blend for DaVinci? I’ve looked everywhere I could but I’ve only seen Premiere Pro tutorials!

Hi William, how can we map the dotted line to an ellipse node? I'm needing to do this because I need a perfect ellipse of specific dimensions, rather than a hand-drawn shape. (Looking forward to hearing updates of your journey with your health. God bless you).

    • @WilliamJusticeMedia
      @WilliamJusticeMedia  3 роки тому

Hi, There are probably a lot of different ways to do it,, but if you need to create an ellipse path... Try going to the text node, click the layotu tab and choose type of circle... you can adjust the circle width and size to create an ellipse
OR if you want to have a bit more control you can try creating your own ellipse path..Add a polygon node. Then before drawing a polygon, right click in the center of the viewer window... at the bottom of the popup menu select, polygon: polyline... select create and then ellipse... You can set the ellipse width/height. you can use a text node to create the dotted line. in the text node, click the 2nd icon for layout, select type of path... then right click the "right click here for shaep animation" select remove path.. THen right click again and connect the text to your ellipse polygon path.
      Hope that helps!

Hey William, thanks for the great video. I tried to do the ravel map animation. However, in my polygon I don't have the position and length option. I think I did everything as you described, but maybe I missed something. Do you have any idea why I'm missing these options? Thanks ;-)

Hi William, Amazing video You could teach us how did you create the audience and the stage. I have a good idea about how to create that, but I think that because I have no great skills in video editing I could end up creating it in a very bad way in terms of management: I mean, I certainly would not create my project in an optimized way. For example, I would not be sure wether would be better to create and isolate each people of the audience (the transparent background) using the color page or doing it in fusion. I also not sure wether it would be better to create a single fusion clip including everybody in the audience in this clip or instead puting each person from audience in a separated fusion clip. It would be nice to know the way you did it since this can be the difference between having a project rendering by many hours or having it rendered in a shorter time or between spending hours just to made a small change in your editing or a few minutes (for example, changing the place where someone is in the audience or creating a reusable asset that with a few clics gives you a new person with a transparent background to be added in the audience by just changing a media in node in fusion). Thank you very much.

Hey Bruno... this audience was a bit job to put together... Not sure if I did it the best way,, but it worked... I filmed myself on a green screen. I used fusion to key out the green screen...I think created a png graphic for each rows of the seats...I then layered the people clips on top of the seats..... I wanted to do everything in one timeline but it was too much for my computer... so i ended up creating a separate timeline for each row... Then rendered each row.... after that i created a new audience timeline and brought in each of the pre-rendered people rows. The trick is that when you render each row you have to make sure that you are exporting the transparency..

@@WilliamJusticeMedia Thank you very much. I had serrious issues while using fusion to create an audience here. When I finish my project I will put the link here so you can se my results. It's far from being such organized and beautiful like your stage, but it worked. My computer quite good. not high end, but it was also too much for it to handle the audience in a fusion clip. It would be impossible to create my entire project in a single timeline too. Thank you again

Thank you William. Indeed I had an idea of a video for my students and for that procject I would need an audience for the video. So I was having exactly the same issue you have described in your answer above (the performance issues to get the entire audience in just one fusion clip). So I had to do exactly what you did: to render the audience separatetly so I could use it on my timeline. I'm learning a lot with your videos and they are very inspirational to me for creating videos for my students (I'm a professor and I'm trying to create some fun contents to my students during this dark period of coronavirus pandemic). I watch all your videos and find your channel one of the best UA-cam channels on Davinci Resolve.
I'm very uneskilled on Video Editing/Davinci Resolve, but I love to think about creating nice videos.

Glad you got the audience part figured out. It is a lot of work but I had fun putting it together. I am sure that your students enjoy fun and interesting videos. If they are watching and engaged that will only help the learning process!!!! I am learning too... Really I don't know all this stuff.
