Join me on Lake Garda at Toscolano Maderno for the 2024 Mad Of Lake urban downhill race.

My bike of choice is the super versatile Orbea Occam. I have modified the bike with a bigger chainring, 7 speed drivetrain, air shock, 790mm bars and most importantly, fast rolling hard compound tyres.
The race itself was never going to be easy; The track is renowned for being very physical and with two 3-times world champions on the start list, my day in the saddle was set to be very tough...

great race run! Would like to ride 50% of your level - it still would be freaking scary :)
Also interesting is the choice of an Occam bike instead of a Rallon. do you feel better on it?
Too kind mate. Whilst the Rallon is better designed for gravity riding, the Occam is better under pedalling and it's steeper head angle and seat tube angle all helps with agility and speed on a course like this one. Hope that helps mate!
