Yo! That comment you said- "don't know, don't go, don't throw" or something like that, dude put that on a T-shirt with your logo on the front. They would sell like hotcakes.
So about the bass question, Florida has about 4 species of bass. The "largemouth bass" that you talked about aren't actually Largies, but a separate sub species called the Florida Bass and they are the most common to find in Florida. There are also Spotted, Suwannee, Shoal, and Peacock (even though they are more related to cichlids I just mentioned them). Most of the other bass I named besides the Florida Bass (and Peacock) are usually found up north in certain rivers and creeks. I hope this helps and I hope you knowing the names of some of them lets you understand them a little more. :)
Hey Mike … I know it’s frustrating dealing with injury , keep your head up … keep the content going … keep posting … even if you don’t catch fish. Eventually you will pull through and we will be here to support you all the way. Thanks for the vids
Me and my buddys fish there and we seem to only catch catfish we've seen people catch striped bass at night but never had luck ourselves. Love the vids keep up the good work.
Hey man I love ur fishing videos I learned how to fish on fresh water because of you and now I just make this chanel about freshwater fishing but everything on Spanish I suscribete like 5 years ago love the videos!
I have actually caught a gray mullet on PAPER in istanbul turkey. they strike anything that touches the water and are nicknamed “dumb fish” by the locals.
In-line spinners work great in Florida ponds. I use a 1/4 ounce (green/orange-ish w /gold leaf. Was out today actually 6 fish : 4 bass and 2 bluegill. (One was massive) It’s ok to fish a little small you will also get the pan fish including cichlids.
Great vid as always man, you’ve been my favorite fishing YTer for a long time. Even tho this is a Florida video I appreciate you showing people how great our state (DE) is for fishing and putting it on the map! 👏
Hey florida fisherman here and if you wanna get anything at these places? Those tiny sunfish you caught? Hook one up live, one up cut up in the eddies and flat water around the current. Or even just along the rocks. We lack the flatheads and blue cats here but we do have some big channels and bowfin love sunfish! But they don't like fast water, and that right there is too fast for most. Drop a nice cut bait or live gill where the fast water meets the slack and you will probably hook up eventually. The stripers and shad you mentioned? WAAAAY too early. You wanna go there around late dec through feb if you are after those. We rarely if ever get those outside the runs at those times of the year. This time of the year you wanna hit slack water for fresh, and salt can be most anywhere. Mirrodeens, peeled shrimp, and small lived baits work. Peel a shrimp and put TINY bits on small hooks for bait and toss them around structure and shorelines. Don't wing em out like you would in other states. Also bring some chicken necks or legs to throw out on a line for crabs! If there are mullet you can catch fresh blue crab. Small ones can be lobbed out as bait for fish too. It is honestly hard fishing right now anywhere, but that is the advice I can give! Once it starts cooling down chase the mullet run in the rivers and on the beaches for huge fish! there are glass minnows already showing up in the salt water beaches and estuaries which is a good sign!
If you ever decide to go back use crappie jigs all white double rig em with a 1 to 1 1/2 oz weight and fish under the shad swimming along the wall. You’ll catch fish guaranteed
yo i think it would be cool to start back doing some fishing challenges, budget challenges, species challenges, survival challenges, etc. a new version of camping overnight on the beach would be fire
not a fan of big dam spillway fishing, ive only ever seen catfish and gar caught around my area.. ive caught much better and varied species on down from a spillway like that where the current is calmer. yea people use "dough balls" down here, and in that calm spot you were in i woulda been tossing little crappie jig with garlic scent on it. Liver for long distance catfish attempts. Ive used fishgum in freshwater too and works just as good
Is that Rodman I’ve been there a couple times so many shad there it’s hard to get a bite they get wipers hybrid stripers in the winter there they catch a lot of big panfish off the dock on other side
It's still a banger video🔥 your definitely putting in that work in that Florida heat 💪👊 I've been too the rodman dam twice it's definitely tough!! You will be changing lures all day there 😂 i agree with ya try it again in the winter that's what i wanna do keep up the great work. Looking forward for more videos. 👍🔥
@@FirstStateFishing I’m in the Bronx but there’s a huge fresh water stocked lakes stocked with massive trout and small and large mouth upstate!! Also I’ll take you to fish the Long Island beach (saltwater)
@FirstStateFishing Yup, at your first spot, if you jig a tiny jig along the wall you'll catch crappie all year long. Doesn't need to be only in the cooler months.
What would you throw at a spillway like this?? 🤔🎣
A magnet
Minnows
Mackerel
Inline spinner or spoon or live bait inline spinner for imatating bait fish and spoon does the same
definitely a crankbait or a jerkbait

Yeah man they really would

I’ve grown up at that dam and I caught a 7 pound striped outta it and my dad caught a 8.04 pound large mouth bass
Crab Orchard Lake in Illinois has a large population of hybrid striped bass
Large mouth are light in color and have a line from front to back smallies are darker with lines up and down
Find cotton fishing shirts and a wide brim straw hat. Too hot for plastic/poly shirts and shorts
made another vid🔥🔥🔥 love seeing vid notifications
Go to that spot where the running water is hook it below the dorsal fin live blue gill who knows what will bite it.
