I am currently in Greece with my wife on a sailing holiday. People like you have inspired us to learn to sail. So tonight we are sleeping on a yacht moored on Ithaca. Thank you. ❤
That's put a huge smile on our faces just reading that now. We hope you guys have an epic holiday! ☺️🙏🏼⛵️
@@CadohaAdventuresdon’t suppose you have link or name of the spear gun you use to fish with plz sir
Entertaining. I especially liked the bit when you went off-camera to kill the crab, then returned to demonstrate exactly what you did to kill it. Your sense of humor is lost on UA-cam censors. Well done all around.
Ha ha, it's the finest of lines between being demonised or not when it comes to harvesting your food. The crab would likely get you demonetised but shooting fish doesn't, yet.
Glad you enjoyed the vlog ☺️🐟
Bro your voice is so soothing, literal National Geographic material! Love the videos
Nice head shot! That kind of skill will serve you well when you get to the Land Down Under!
(Struggling fish will attract sharks here.. a quick kill is the best way to not draw attention from them.)
We have plenty of sharks here by all accounts too but no amount of struggling fish seem to attract them in, thankfully 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼☺️
I worked in the Superyacht industry for a number of years and now my son is an engineer on a Superyacht. I've followed your channel from day one and unlike all but one of the sailing channels on UA-cam, yours is the one I actually look forward to watching the latest from. Keep it up, don't get pretentious and stick to your beliefs.
Glad you're enjoying the vlogs, Johny, and we'll do our best to just be ourselves, aside from all my cunningly edited out mood swings that is, ha ha, because who needs to see that anyway? 🤣😬😇
Out here I. NW Washington State USA I believe those crabs would be Dungeness crabs. Wonderful eating. We also cut the mushroom stems so the plant can rejuvenate itself. I don’t know if that makes sense but that’s what mother said and I could not argue with her! Love your channel, thank you
The mushrooms here are very short lived but I may look into that just incase we can cap some at the beginning of the season, perhaps?
The base of the mushroom is not the reproductive part. They reprooduce only from the spores they emit. One needn't worry, there are plenty of them that will spread the spores.
Hi Dominic and Carly, Another fabulous video to set ones dreams alight as sleep beckons! Where were you anchored, sweet dreams! Mark
Hey Mark, we were actually in St. Mawes for that video, apart from the clip right at the beginning, that was Porthscatho 👌🏼☺️
Such a lovely couple !
Love your channel.
Turn on the commercials...you deserve every dime! They don't diminish the Vlog
Ha ha, thanks, Tim, the temptation is always there, but I just enjoy the viewing experience myself more without interruptions in the middle 😬
A fine job of foraging and a sweet shot on that bass.
Thanks, Mathew, that shot is certainly getting better now. Practice, practice, practice ☺️
Hi , some more magic moments as the season is coming to it,s end . well fed and plenty of exercise , lets hope you make it through the night . Fair winds and thank you all for your video .
Ha ha, I'm not mushroom expert yet, just picking the most obvious edible ones. Glad you're enjoying the vlog 🙏🏼☺️
Obviously a change in climate. Love the warmer attire. I dream of catching gathering this type of food.
Thank you again for sharing the lifestyle. Autumn is coming.
Autumn is indeed upon us and although it makes us sad that one chapter closes, the autumnal months are a beauty all to themselves ☺️🙏🏼
I’m sooooooooo glad I found this channel! You guys are amazing! So inspiring! I feel like watching a BB C show because of your great voice and way of directing all (even tho I don’t watch TV no more). Thank you!!! You earned another subscriber! 😊
As a French-Canadian, I always remark on your choice of music being "Adventuring English". I love it since I feel I am going on a quest with Dominique.
That's because you are going on an adventure with us ☺️⛵️🐟
I wish there was smell-a-vision (and taste-a-vision).😋
100% the video footage alone doesn’t nearly do justice to the overall experience. Augmented reality probably isn’t that far away though, maybe that’ll be a feature there 😬🤣
You're getting braver Dom when underwater but I still hear the Jaws music every time you are diving! (I have the same problem). Another great vid.
I feel like I am too, although it still doesn't take much for me to freak out. For example, I was busy trying to hunt a long Bass next to a reef when a giant grey creature just came out of the murky blue and I damn near had a heart attack on the spot. It was a large bull seal which just swam past me, whilst staring directly at me, then as quickly as it had come into view it had vanished again.
I was on my own and it freaked me out enough that I couldn't hold my breath for very long at all after that and so I called it a day.
@@CadohaAdventures I had a moment on the barrier reef, pulled my brother in law behind me as I swam past him back to the boat! No shark I saw something and freaked out. He still hasn't forgiven me 😁
Thank you for all the work you put into these videos. I really enjoy them.
Glad to hear it, Michael. If others are, by and large, enjoying them as much as we enjoy making them then that’s a win! ☺️👌🏼
One of the very few videos on YT where to see how to cut filets the right way! THX
Haha ... Awesome video! Hope you are both well and coping ok with the weather this weekend.
You guys are awesome at foraging your food. Dom, you are braver than me, I would never stick my hand and arm down in a hole not knowing what may be in it. Your meal looked absolutely mouth watering good. If only UA-cam had smellivision.
Thanks 👍
The meal was great and the truth of the matter is that you're likely just smarter than me not to put your hand in the hole! 😂🦞
Brilliant, thanks 🙏 and now I’m hungry after watching that!
Watching it back I really fancy some fresh sea bass now! 😋
However it's winter time again so the local supermarket will have to do for now 😫
Good to meet you guys at the Dolpin inn, Your adventures on the boat look amazing, we're both back to the grindstone and i'm scouring the net for boats... to Holly and the kids disbelief!!
Fair winds and good seas

Hi guys thanks for the video really love the way you where picking stuff from the wild fantastic cliff from Logan city Queensland Australia from the big island 😊😊😊
Hey there, it’s been a lovely voyage of discovery for us too and glad you enjoyed it ☺️👌🏼
Way to go. Looked like a very nice meal. Well done 👍
It was absolutely delicious and we're sure missing that fresh food now 😞🦞

Thanx for the „recipie“ with the mushrooms. Sounds great and will be cooked and tasted tonight.👍
Tested and cooked your Mushroom Dish today and it was super tasty 👍
Wow you guys are fantastic.

Awesome content guys 🥰
Glad you enjoyed the vlog, thanks for taking time out of your day to spend it with us ☺️
You've definitely found your groove with the videos and the boat ⛵.
Remember you getting the boat, day one...that's a lifetime ago... hopefully see you out there next year, perhaps in the Isles of Scilly...?
You’re not wrong, it certainly does feel like a long time ago now, but you know what they say, time flys when you’re having fun ☺️
I’m not sure exactly what the plans for next year are yet, it really depends how the upgrades for this winter go, but hopefully we will indeed see you out there 👌🏼☺️⛵️
From port Hardy British Columbia.... Food is absolutely skyrocketing in price. We've always fished for pleasure, but now we eat fish 5 nights a week. It sure does keep the costs down when you catch your own dinner.
Yeah inflation doesn’t look like it’s going to be all that ‘transitory’ after all, so just doing what we can to offset some of the worst of it 🙏🏼☺️⛵️
That’s the life I’ve been dream of❤
I'm sorry but you got to love carly she waits till dom bout to eat then mimics death choke lol
Yes the cost of everything has gone up. I believe more people will be doing thus to feed their family 👪 ❤
I have enjoyed watching your evolution from beginner, into a proficient spearo. Echo and I are about to head to The Bahamas aboard our sailboat, Thalassa, for an extended period of living “off the land”.
Ha ha, well as much as I feel like I’ve made good progress this year with Spearfishing, I still very much consider myself a novice at it. ☺️🐟
Brilliant Video, Fantastic array of food.
Poor Hank only Pedigree Chum...
Ha ha, noooooo, Hank's food is probably our biggest expense! He eats a brand of food called 'Butternut' and it's human grade food that smells good enough to eat, as a human! 😮
@@CadohaAdventures Now your talking 😋
Very interesting video... Thanks. I cruise up in Scotland and have been reluctant in the past to venture south after hearing stories about the high mooring/berth costs! However, hearing your experience of costs under £1000 for the season... Adventuring south now sounds very affordable! 👍
It really is, although again I have to say that most of our time was spent at anchor and we did catch an almighty amount of food ourselves, but if you stock up with food and drink in advance and are happy to anchor out, then it's perfectly doable 👌🏻
Loved the film guys. St awes is a w derail place isn’t it. I love the foregoing for real food as I call it my wife unfortunately won’t eat anything hunted. 😏 when we’re on a gullet in turkey once the man and wife team were great. Memmit would go out spea fishing. He would bring the catch back to the boat where he would cook his catch and serve for dinner. My wife never ate it tho. Lol. Great stuff.
Ha ha, well it’s not for everyone I guess but I’m with you, it’s a very satisfying way to consume food. Something just feels very honest about it ☺️👌🏼🐟
Nice forage, but your never gonna get em out a hole that deep unless you get it first time. Try 2 gaffs and get it to bite the first as u get one in behind n whip ir out.
The parasol mushrooms, besides having a loose skirt, also have an empty leg. The poisonous doppleganger's flesh turns red if damaged so that's another difference.
The poisonous mushroom isn't deadly though. It'll give you food poisoning but I don't think anyone died from eating one.
Good channel. Lovely shots of St Mawes. 18 seconds in is that not off Portscatho, spent many a family holiday there in the sixties, went back this year early summer and it's hardly changed
Keep up the good work
That’s a good eye you have there, it is indeed Porthscatho 👌🏼
Beautiful spot indeed ☺️
@@CadohaAdventures T'wer Gull rock off yer starboard bow. Many a year camping in Arthur's field and waking to that view. Sailed around it a few times, twernt 'alf smelly on the lee side.
That was a female crab you did there mate - I only take the males - think - more crabs in the future. To quickly kill and clean a crab - Hold the crab right side up facing away from you at the base of the legs, hand on either side - find a corner or firm protrusion . Smash the crab face down on the corner catching ~ 1" of the corner. This knocks the top carapace off the crab and kills it. Still holding it twist / tear it into right and left halves - flick the guts away . Dunk clean it and voila ready for cooking . A tip from the west coast of Vancouver Island , Canada . You can get collapsible crab traps (don't take up a lot of room) Bait it with head etc. of the fish from the night before - tether it to a float and leave it working 24/7 - plenty of crabs even when throwing the females back 🙂
Did you see what your wife did when you ate the first spoon of mushrooms.. The funniest part of the movie !!!
I did indeed, she can be a wind up merchant too sometimes 🤣
@@CadohaAdventures I live in Canada where we don't use that term "wind up merchant". So before my reply here I had to look it up on Google. Well I guess it turns out she is a comedian !! I laughed so hard. (hand across her throat). Great Sailing video... and so glad you are doing well and having fun.
Go chief hunter Hank, on the prowl 🐶
He’s quick to point to the food, it’s just in his DNA 😍🐕🐕🐕

You know it! ☺️🐕
Dom When you were foraging on the shore why didn't you collect some Winkles , They are full of iron and Good eating.I love them.
They look like a lot of work for little in return, but I’m not above trying them, hell I ate limpets last year 😬
:o 11:28 As little chidlers my mother always encouraged us to rather wipe our hands in our hair. Easier to clean.
Ouch, make sure to take care of the ring of Macrolepiota procera, it is a delicacy!
Dom, great video again! Can I ask how long do you tend to stay underwater for? How long are you holding breath for I guess I'm asking and any tips for holding it for a long time?
That's a good question and the truth is... It depends. For example, my personal best holding of my breath under water, in a 'static apnea' (holding my breath whilst not moving) is 5:03, but know that I am doing nothing, I resemble a floating dead body and I had a highly trained supervisor with me, making sure I didn't black out.
When I start moving around that time drops way off. On average I'm under for about 1 minute, or 90 seconds max. I'm often diving on my own so I don't try and push myself, I surface the second I feel the urge to breath, again, I don't want to risk blacking out, because, well then you drown 😞
I also always 'breath back up' to get rid of CO2 build up in my system, which again, can cause black outs.
My advice would be to check out some free dive forums and look into apnea training to get a better handle on the ins and outs of it. I'm very much still a novice in this area, I had never done any free-dive training until this summer and even then it was only half a days training, so take everything I say with a huge dash of salt and be sure to speak to some people who know what they're doing, in one of the free-dive forums. People will be more than happy to help you.
Hope that helps?
Best of luck and be safe! 🙏🏼
♥️♥️🥰🥰
😬🙏🏼⛵️
Cadoha....Im so jealous having to work every fracking day.....I wish I could do what you are doing..........are you going to stay on all winter.....?x
Yes we’ve lived on the boat for a few years now. We moor up and work all winter, save as much money as we can, we also repair everything that broke and the we make modifications from lessons learnt/ luxuries wanted from the previous summer. Then when it gets warm again we cast of and explore this fine kingdoms coastline ☺️🙏🏼⛵️
The plan this winter is be build more systems for power generation and an alternative winter heating/ cooking method.
@@CadohaAdventures wow that's fantastic.......i am looking at a bavaria 46 so can retire and live like you do.....but the marina prices for winter mooring seem very expensive and relying on marina electricity must have its ups and downs .......fantastic videos you lovely people maybe one day we will cross paths......🙂Bavaria 46 mad man waving !

Loved this! How did you learn all about foraging?
A channel I watch the most when it comes to fishing and foraging is ua-cam.com/users/TheFishLocker
For spearfishing I often watch a guy from this neck of the woods, called ua-cam.com/users/JoePkSpearfishing
@@CadohaAdventures Thanks! Will follow them, too.
@@mikeisanisland let them know we said hi 🙏🏼👋
@@CadohaAdventures will do! Cheers.
I think I know what you were doing there, surfacing with your fist closed.

Hi Guys, How much does the solar degrade as you get into autumn? We have 400W but used mainly when it was sunny this summer (in the same area of the country as you). I guess as the days get shorter, so does the solar output? Great videos btw.
It drops off considerably by October for sure. The winter months is almost doing nothing for the day.
I think we’re going to install a couple of wind generators to go along with all the solar and see how that works out 🙏🏼☺️⛵️
@@CadohaAdventures We have a center cockpit boat so wind generators have been banned as too noisy by far. I note you have gone back to cooking with what looked like gas - is this another casualty of the shortage of sunshine? We managed to be in different harbours to you all summer despite spending 10 weeks in Devon and Cornwall. Let's hope next season is as good!
Dom, I love watching your content. Just a question tho, why do you surface from a drive with your arm straight above your head? Thanks keep the videos coming.
Ha ha, there’s no good reason, I’m just having fun in the water, pretending I can fly. 😬🤣
@@CadohaAdventures Oh that's interesting. I see others on UA-cam doing it as well and thought it must have been a safety thing of something like that. Much more fun to think you're bringing out your inner Superman!!!!!!!!! Keep doing what you are doing. Love your channel.
If you find your mushrooms are running away from you, you may be eating the wrong ones.
Ha ha, that makes sense now 🍄😬😇
What are you guys up to ?
Just trying to live as freely as we can. The last two years shone a light on just how many people welcomed being locked up with draconian rules and how governments in what we always thought were free countries seemed to enjoy their new dictator like powers, all of which made us realise that we needed to build out a freedom vessel.
That’s what we’re in the middle of 🙏🏼👌🏼⛵️
How long, approximately, can you hold your breath under water by now?
It really depends. If I’m just doing a static apnea training session, basically resembling a floating dead body in the water, face down, my record is 5:03
If I’m actually doing anything in the water, swimming/ diving etc, then 90 seconds is a good time for me. I’m nearly always diving on my own though so I’ve never pushed myself to see what my max dive time is, because I’m scared of blacking out. Generally, on average I’m down 30-60 seconds, but when I’m really relaxed I naturally just end up down closer to 90 seconds before I start feeling the urge to surface again.
Wow Dom, that’s impressive. Great!
With the WHM-training about two years ago I could make it to 05:16 laying flat on the bed. But, in water it is different. I’ve been swimming 50 meters under water for several occasions and then I try to calm myself in kind of a meditation.
One year ago I did the mistake of combining yoga and apnea - passed out for the first (known) time of my life. Found myself on the floor… Then my body (or rather brain) got afraid, so I quit doing WHM.
Now I spontaneously make my own apnea training and I feel it is very much better to bring the tempo down. So with very little effort I can easily hold 3-3,5 minutes and that’s good enough.
Good luck with your training and keep it slow 🤞🏽
If you put blackberries in water you’ll be surprised how many maggots pop up to the surface 😳🤮😂
It’s all protein 😋

what's with the Jesus sandals, just wear flip flops xx
Ha ha, whilst I agree that flip flops do indeed look way cooler, these things were amazing when you have wet feet and are waking along slippery reefs 👌🏼
Wow are you guys broke! If I hadn't lost my job two years ago and been denied hip replacement surgery to let me go back to work I'd donate. Ya know...she could probably do rather well on 'only fans'.
I guess the term broke is a relative term because we feel pretty fortunate and rich in many ways, certainly when I think about many of those less fortunate and struggling right now.
Nob
Sorry about this...
Just not so keen on the product placement, the merchandise beanies and frankly, the smugness of it all.
I get the feeling that you might be playing at off-grid but actually very comfortably off and maybe weekenders?
There's just something rather too self-satisfied....and the commentary just reminds me of a Gordon Ramsay documentary.
Self satisfied? I mean we were pretty satisfied with what we found, possibly why we sounded... satisfied?!
Are you saying you’d enjoy it more if we sounded insecure?
We live on the boat 365 days a year, half of that time is spent off grid, and we’re building out our boats systems to hopefully one day be able to be unplugged for a full year.
I mean we own a boat, so I guess we are well off compared to many people around the world, and feel very fortunate for the hand we’ve been dealt, as in we’re both fit and capable, reasonably intelligent, and born into a free country, in the age of the internet, which in the grand scheme of humanity is an absolute winning lottery ticket in terms of sheer existence.
In the winter we both work manual labour jobs, we just choose not to spend the money we make in nice holidays, new clothes, fancy cars etc, etc, and instead put it towards being able to spend half the year away, living on the boat, exploring, adventuring and hunting for food.
Selling some beanie hats also helps us live this life, and since we’ve spent many thousands of hours now creating videos and building our channel, it seems like a good place to let people know about them?! Yet you take offence to us sharing what we’ve made? Would you rather a Visa/ MasterCard advert broke up the videos instead?
Are you essentially saying it would bring you more joy to see us be a bit poorer and struggle a more?
Thinking about it, even if we were rich, which we’re not, but even if we were, why would that be something to be ashamed of?
I’m detecting some serious Stalin vibes going on here, Comrade 😵
When it comes to sailing and sailing on UA-cam...I simply prefer real adventure, genuine challenges and a bit of humility.
