Happy, Happy Wednesday!!! The boy's got a second UA-cam strike on THETEXASBOYS channel :( So they will not be posting anything for 2 weeks. Again thank you so much for watching today's video. ~Faith
I'm so glad you have an established channel TM, not only for your videos, but the ability to keep a line of communication open for TTB subscribers also.
Thank you for this! I was seriously considering using T4L for my 6th grader next year. This answered my questions 100,000% and I'm so grateful. It doesn't sound like it's where our money needs to be spent.
I so appreciate all this great info! You got me excited to start homeschooling my son (he's almost 3) and now I have great resources to check out. I just love you and your family and can't wait to meet you in glory one day! Thanks for all you do and may God bless, protect, and guide you! 💛😊🙏
T4l started it last year and I noticed it with my 4th and 6th grader and didn’t renew this year. Teaching textbooks has been our new favorite math and reading we use different types of curriculum and science good and beautiful
I really appreciate your input on making sure your homeschool doesn’t need to look like anyone else’s homeschool! Thanks for those words of encouragement and wisdom!😊❤
Thanks for all of the information. I have been following your family for a few years. Thank you for creating your own channel. We are actually visiting South Texas next week to check out the area. You have been a huge encouragement!
Dinotopia are so fun! I recall poring over those books for hours and hours as a child! Thank you for reminding me of them. I’m shocked to hear about this Time 4 Learning thing. Yikes! Well, I suppose I shouldn’t be that surprised. For what it’s worth you had me laughing out loud trying to skirt around all the banned words. 😂 We used to use Monarch during those busy seasons but I haven’t been very happy with their retention. My kids are quite good at reading the text, answering the questions, and promptly forgetting everything they just learned. 😝 We have always loved Teaching Textbooks for math starting around second grade and ideally we use Ambleside but that’s really hard to keep up with a large family and a busy homestead life. I’m so excited about this new channel. As always, thank you for taking all the time to share and encourage others. Blessings! By the way, Faith and Grace are excellent names. 💕
My little guy loves the books from Answers in Genesis. He has a lot of Dinausaur books from them. He was so excited to see your Book from Ken Ham. He is six. ❤❤❤
That would be fabulous! My boys end up just reading classics and nonfiction because the mainstream books written for teens are so junky. I’m always looking for something new for that age range.
I know I am writing again, but I wanted to know that you are an answer to prayer. My precious son is having a hard time figuring out letters. His teacher has been helping him, but he is falling behind. I asked my Saviour for help so he can learn. He loves books and reading is so important. Thank you for your suggestion for kids who are dyslexic. You have made this mom's heart very glad.
T4L was recommended to us early on in our homeschool journey by our Dept of Ed. We used it for a few subjects but I felt like it wasn't a good fit for us and we dropped it fairly quickly. I'm saddened to hear what they are teaching but not shocked.
So exited to see your first video ❤ Going to look into the books for my Grandson so thanks for the recommendation. Btw I don’t homeschool as my kids are grown (sadly they grew up in government indoctrination camps 😢) I didn’t know any better back then. But I wanted to say I heard that “The Good and the beautiful “ is Mormon based. Again idk much about any of it just going by what I have heard so maybe you can check into it.
If you ever want to switch curriculum, I highly recommend Christian Light Education! It can be done mostly independently :) Thanks for sharing your homeschool journey!
My oldest has been using acellus for her high-school classes and I have really liked it. Her name is Faith :) I also have a Hope, a Joy and a Grace. 4 girls. I started using TTRS, teaching textbooks, and the good and the beautiful after you talked about them a couple years ago so thank you for sharing. My Grace is a year younger then your Grace and thinks it's funny to watch another little girl with her name.
Thank you SO much for the T4L warning. I had encountered a few things, but not what you mentioned. This gives me pause and doesn't align with my views.
Wonderful information, thank you. I would love to hear more about how you graduate your kids. We definitely do not want to follow the public schools in our homeschool, but I have doubts about whether or not we need to "graduate" our kids "officially " with "credits" or not. I feel to increase the practical life learning in these years, and it seems that Biology, Chemistry etc will take over and bring too much work to add anything else...
I am very interested in Power Homeschool. Are there books that need to purchased for this curriculum or is it strictly online? This was an amazing video and I've watched literally hundreds of homeschool videos. I am so happy your venturing out with your own channel. I look forward to future videos. Thanks so much.
The author expresses several grievances related to homeschooling and their experiences with online platforms and censorship: 1. **UA-cam Bans**: The author mentions that their main channel, Texas Boys, has been banned twice from UA-cam for discussing prohibited topics. They express frustration with the increasing restrictions and the need to navigate these limitations carefully. 2. **Time for Learning Curriculum**: The author is upset about the inclusion of certain controversial topics in the Time for Learning curriculum. Specifically, they are concerned about: - **Gender Identity Confusion**: The health class includes content related to gender identity that the author finds inappropriate and confusing for children. - **Historical Theories**: The history courses promote a theory that critiques certain skin colors, making some feel better and others worse, which the author believes is divisive and abusive. After confirming these issues with the company, the author decided to cancel their subscriptions and stop promoting Time for Learning. 3. **Nationwide Education Standards**: The author is dismayed that these controversial topics are part of nationwide education standards, making it difficult to find suitable curriculums that align with their values. 4. **Balancing Homeschooling and Life Skills**: The author emphasizes the importance of integrating real-life skills into homeschooling. They highlight the various practical skills their children have acquired, such as woodworking, baking, leatherworking, welding, and computer skills. The author values these life skills highly and believes they are crucial for their children's overall development. 5. **Homeschooling Philosophy**: The author stresses that homeschooling should not be a miserable experience but rather a joyful and enriching one for both parents and children. They advocate for a flexible and enjoyable homeschooling approach that adapts to each child's needs and fosters a positive family environment. 6. **Concerns About Education Quality and Content**: The author is dedicated to finding high-quality and appropriate educational resources for their children. They mention considering other programs like Acellus and Power Homeschool, seeking alternatives that align better with their family's values and educational goals. In summary, the author's grievances center around censorship on social media, inappropriate and divisive content in educational curriculums, the challenges of finding suitable educational resources, and the importance of a balanced, flexible, and positive homeschooling experience.
I also can’t support TGATB because of its non Christian founder. Mormons aren’t Christian. I was one once upon a time. So the curriculum will portray that.
A belief in Jesus Christ is at the core of all teachings in the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Some might refer to the members as Mormons as we believe the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ and the Bible are both scripture; however, members prefer not to use this term as we are not followers of Mormon (a prophet) but Jesus Christ. We wholeheartedly consider ourselves Christians. In my experience, many who claim that members are not Christian do not know the full title of the Book of Mormon or the teachings contained inside and/or have never personally attended services or spoken directly with a member of this church, but are confused by incorrect assumptions or information shared by others. I understand that this is not your case as you state that you were a member once. Yet, I want others to know that The Good and the Beautiful was created by someone who loves the Savior, Jesus Christ and tries every day to follow his teachings. Before creating this curriculum, Jenny Phillips was a contracted singer. You can find her music on UA-cam and many of her songs are about the Savior.
I homeschooled all of my now-adult children and now they’re all homeschooling my grandchildren. 😊
That’s the dream! 👏 👏 👏
Happy, Happy Wednesday!!!

What caused each strike
Hey! I’m a brand new homeschool mom. Have you used Miacademy? I don’t have much experience with online programs. Thanks for any insight🥰✝️

Great job Faith! I am sorry that Texas Boys got banned for 2 weeks. I am praying for God's protection on your family! God Bless!
🌼🌷🍄FAITH🌾🌻🌺!! Love it 🥰 My siblings loved Dinotopia as well. I was older when we found them but liked them too.
Thank you for sharing!💞 I just ordered "The Mitten." I think my little ones will really like it!

Homeschool was the best choice we ever made for our family!
Love your in-depth look at the books !
Thank you for recommending TTRS and The Good and Beautiful. We've tried them both and love them!

Mommaof3 here! Yes to power homeschool!! We are doing it and have really enjoyed it!!!
I have some young teen boys in my house. I would love to have a few book ideas for them!

Thank you so much for informing us…
I love that this is your first video! I’m so thankful to soon start our official homeschool next year.

Great suggestion!
what will you be using now in place of T4L?
Can you make a fall favorites video?
Have you looked into AOP Monarch?

I’m just wondering if Accellus will have the same thing going on because they are secular and based on national standards.
As they are written into the nations curriculum, then just more curses for America. 😢
💐🌻🙌🏻❤
Thank you for this. I literally just emailed them asking if they pushed political ideologies. Now I know.
Hi there "Faith" & "Grace" 17:10
How is Power Homeschool program? Is it any good?
