CycleCruza those horsepower and torque numbers are not for the bikes entering the US market my man. Those power figures were released for the bikes that are being sold in Europe, Japan, China and other countries that have very strict smog laws. We wont know the power figures for the US market forsure until we get our first shipments but the industry rumor right now is that it's supposed to have 38-42 horsepower and an equal amount of torque
Ryan T this is exactly what happened with the wr250r. When the specs were first released everyone was in an uproar because it was stated that the wr250r would only have 15hp, but once it came State side we saw 20hp plus. They do this all the time with motorcycles, they release the European specs first
Teck Rylee no it’s definitely misinformation, the 450L has 25hp in Europe but has 40hp in the states. There’s more to the list but as far as the video is concerned it’s not quite accurate.
Nope.. your source is incorrect. Honda has not posted HP numbers yet but it will be slightly less than than the crf450x..high forties. Cycle Cruza...don't be a fool. I like your website but...you are wrong. This bike is going to be a game changer. The WR250 is more of a turd than this crf..the WR250 should be crushed and melted down.
CycleCruza Honda just wants to stir drama and have people talking about the bike and making videos.. Wait until the release date and you will see. But for now your giving them free advertisement
It's almost physically impossible to have the same power as the CRF250L Rally...24hp and still pass emissions. They would have to run it so lean and choked down it wouldn't be reliable at 12:1 compression and 450cc. Honda is a multi-billion dollar company. They are breaking ground here.... 25hp is ludicrous. I like the channel brother, but you are listening to dead wrong speculation. It will be mid to high 40's easily. Mark my words..
This was VERIFIED from HONDA :www.hondaprokevin.com/2019-honda-crf450l-review-specs-motorcycle-dual-sport From his blog: "Quite a few people have expressed concern on multiple forums, comment section below and on social media etc that the CRF450L’s horsepower rating on this page is a typo or incorrect. *The horsepower rating below is not a typo on my end. The 2019 CRF450L horsepower and torque numbers are directly from Honda* Thanks as always for the feedback though guys, you keep me on my toes when it comes to information like this and at times I do make mistakes so having thousands of extra eyes on the information can be helpful."
ADV Forum - Lengthy conversation with Honda Dealer about this bike. This bloke knows his bikes back to front, including rebuilding, ergonomics, compression, suspension etc.. When I informed him of some of the specs floating around for the bike he laughed his ass off...... According to him the bike will be mid to high 40's BHP (Laughed that a 450cc would be same output as the underpowered 250L) "That's one hell of a restrictive metal corset" he stated. All the increased detail internally is aimed at increasing service intervals to 8000 - 10000km for oil/air filter. ("No point dicking about with the engine if service intervals is the same as the MX versions, what would have been the bloody point..!") The rear frame can take loading, "Not hauling 200kg beer loading, but extra fuel/rotopax, camping gear no worries.", also stated "Yup the fuel tank is the size of a bee's d.......k...... but honda looking at giving a 11L or thereabout option then there will be a safari option within a very short time frame." YAY!.... Will be interesting to see how much BS has been published about this bike and what is indeed fact.... I tend to believe him more than the internet as he'll honestly slag any bike he thinks they cocked up on even if he's selling it... ("250L should have been a great bike, small fuel tank and ridiculously underpowered", according to him LOL..... )
It's got a throttle stop like the wr450. Takes five minutes to remove. It will make over 50hp. It's going to be a great bike. My 2014 wr450f made 20 horsepower when I got it. You take the throttle stop out in 5 minutes and put a plug in it's place. Makes over 50hp in 5 minutes. Buy a Vmax by the way. Yes it's heavier because it has quality components.
You are wrong what you read is fake news the bike has a race engine and it's going to be fast it has the same engine as the crf450r just different cams and piston it's going to have the same power or a little less power then the race bike thats why theres so much mantaince do your homework a little more before you post this video to give people the wrong information
Trusting 1 article written by 1 guy is not research. Show me REAL indisputable proof that this is true and I'll believe it. Until then I'm not going to trust Pro Honda Kevin!
25 horsepower is horseshit. I have a 250 starter bike for my daughter and it has 25 horsepower. If a 450 is only making 25 horsepower that is an extremely inefficient engine.
I was in a Honda dealer in Australia yesterday and the sales guy told me two versions will be available for Australia. He actually saw it last week at Honda hq in Australia. And I've seen Facebook photos to declare one of them is in the country. Now, in Australia we have this thing called lams. For learner riders. They get same bike, but restricted. All of us full licenced riders get un restricted. The 25 horse power version sounds like a lams bike. He told me that we can buy restricted or un- restricted. And all is needed to change the from one to another is ecu swapped over. I guarantee, the un-restricted version will pump out 40-50 horsepower at the crank. I was considering a wr before this was announced by Honda but now going to wait till this is available in October. it will shit all over the 20 year old, drz. This dealer sold Suzuki, Honda and BMW. He said it looks great in the flesh and they've not done a half assed job on it. I commented on reading that it had 25 horsepower from a internet site in the states and he said that they have really strict emissions controls and they get their bikes choked up from the factory. This will be a game changer. Expect, Japanese manufacturers to follow suit.
CRF450X is not street legal, therefore was not neutered. CRf450l has 3 ring piston restrictive modified air box and a heavy crank. Power is reduced drastically. Read Pro Honda Kevin's blog on the crf450l, he deals directly with Honda: www.hondaprokevin.com/2019-honda-crf450l-review-specs-motorcycle-dual-sport
bro my CRF250L is 22hp and only 20lbs heavier and half the price, I don't really trust his break down - I highly doubt he got his hands on one and put it on the Dyno... I also heard 19,000 miles as the first major service (also supposedly honda verified)... lots of talk going on with this bike, but I would hope and assume the 25hp estimation is inaccurate. It obviously won't be a KTM, but I would be happy with like 35hp and 19,000mile service intervals.. hell I love my 250L just like you love your WR250 haha
Sum Gui But they do... honda says the wet weight and hp on all their bikes ... you must accept that honda probably really fucked up ... and bdw honda did approve the stats that the ,, some guy,, said :)
Dude cmon maaaaan? Lol. The horsepower issue is wrong. That dude is not talking to Honda. "Fake news" "turd"? Lol did you get that from me? Dude get a 500!
No, I keep it real and inform my viewers. However, some people can't handle the truth: www.hondaprokevin.com/2019-honda-crf450l-review-specs-motorcycle-dual-sport
FYI - Unfortunately, I did not have the power specs when I made the first video, the bike had just come out the day before and the power specs were not available at the time. I was updated by a viewer in my first video and found a reliable source, Pro Honda Kevin who got his specs directly from Honda: www.hondaprokevin.com/2019-honda-crf450l-review-specs-motorcycle-dual-sport
CycleCruza fair enough, not knowing the specs beforehand I can see the disappointment. But being reasonable the only way they can transform a hot motocross engine that measures maintenance intervals in hours into a reliable dual sport with maintenance intervals way further apart was to detune it. Honda is just being honda and keeping it conservative.
For sure Yammie is going to step up to the plate but with the mt07 tenere, I doubt they will fill the gap with a 450r given that the 250r does a great job already.
Another thing, I don’t think Honda is stupid enough to put out a bike at this price point and have such little power. You’re talking like crf250l power...ya know, a bike they already fucking make. They wouldn’t release this and with such little power and expect it to sell on brand loyalty alone. That would work in their favor about as well as a lead ballon
I’ve been riding dirt bikes since 1973. Your facts are 100% incorrect! I own a modified 2009 WR250R which I LOVE!! I also own a very heavily modified 2006 Suzuki DRZ 400S with an RM fork on it--don’t ask it was a royal pain although it is as great as a 5 speed carburetor fed dual sport bike which needs a sixth gear can be. I also owned a lightened up modified KTM RXC 620 (They have a 608cc LC4 MOTOR). I also had a 2004 KTM 525 MXC-G Desert Racer with a six speed tranny and a stock 3.5 gallon tank. The first KTM was modified by and the second one was purchased from the same dealer in Las Vegas. The heavier RXC 620 will wheelie with just the throttle at over 9,000ft. The 525 KTM would pull a wheeliie in gears 1-3 again NO clutch was needed do do this from 2,000ft--10,000ft plus. Un-modified, HONDA’S CRF450L will wheelie with throttle only at 5,000+ft.. THERE IS NO WAY IT COULD DO THIS ON 25HP!!!! By the way the two older KTM’s I once had used racing pumper carburetor’s and they developed 50-60+HP depending on the bike. The bike I test rode today with far less modifications than my 2009 WR250R and the KTM’S I mentioned would EAT THEM ALIVE FROM 2,000-10,000 FEET!!! Only the 525 MXC-G could give it a serious run for its money. Will the CRF 450L ever beat Husqvarna 501 or the KTM 500 uh NO 50cc is a lot to overcome when bikes are fuel injected. Can the CRF 450L be uncorked so it runs so close they can’t ever lose sight of it on their heels? YES IF ALL THREE ARE RIDDEN BY COMPETENT RIDERS OF SIMILIAR EXPERIENCE. IF THE CFR RIDER WEIGHS 50LBS LESS THAN THE TWO AUSTRIAN QUEENS THEN THE CRF COULD BEAT THEM. IS THE WP XPLOR SUSPENSON BETTER THAN THE SHOWA? Yeah. Enough to beat the CRF? I doubt it and I love WP suspensions! Put a 50 lb lighter rider of equal skill and experience on the CRF450L AND IT WILL EQUAL OR MOST LIKELY BEAT THE AUSTRIANS! There is one area where THERE IS ZERO QUESTION AS TO WHO WINS HANDS DOWN AND IT IS HONDA BECAUSE HONDA ABSOLUTELY MOPS PLANET EARTH AGAINST KTM, HUSQVARNA AND ALL OTHER EUROPEAN MAKES--WITH A MUCH LARGER NETWORK OF WORLDWIDE DEALER SUPPORT WITH HIGH QUALITY PARTS WHICH COST A LOT LESS THAN THE AUSTRIAN AND OTHER EUROPEAN BIKES. I rode KTM in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Cost of parts, new bike quality and reliability below Honda, Yamaha and Suzuki eventually lead me to get rid of all my KTM’S what back when people were still asking “KTM, WHAT KIND OF KAWASAKI IS THAT?” I’m serious! Have I test ridden the new bikes? YES!!!!! I’m ECSTATIC TO SEE THIS SURGING OF THE EUROPEAN DIRT AND DUALSPORT MARKET BECAUSE NOW PEOPLE KNOW KTM IS NOT A MODEL OF Kawasaki!!!! We have MORE CHOICES OF HIGH PERFORMANCE AND QUALITY DUALSPORTS than we once did in motorcycles!!! (O.K. I admit my last statement isn’t true but it sure as heck seems like it!) One last suggestion, unless you personally own, have owned, OR have a family member, friend or a dealer with a bike who is willing to let you seriously test ride it I suggest dialing back the unsubstantiated “I AM THE AUTHORITY/EXPERT” rhetoric and commentary!!!! Now to be AS FAIR AS I CAN BE TO YOU, I must tell you, the 25 HP is supposedly for some European Union countries. HOWEVER, AS I AM NOT A EUROPEAN I WILL NOT STATE THIS AS IF IT IS FACT!!! ALSO I AM NOT GOING TO FLY OVER TO EUROPE TO VERIFY THE THE VALIDITY OF SUCH A STATEMENT! I read this and some U.S.& Canadian Rocky Mountain Honda dealers looked into it and they feel fairly certain this is correct-BUT ONLY FOR SOME EUROPEAN COUNTRIES! However, even the HONDA Dealers wouldn’t make a concrete statement about castrated EUROPEAN CRF450L’S. With 45 years+ of riding experience I know the bike I was fortunate enough to try at over 5,000+FT altitude is a mid to high 40’s HP stock bike which is whisper quiet!! It could easily be legally uncorked to enhance performance up to between 50-60+H.P.-depending on your budget and state-with an equally impressive increase in torque. Outside of Comradefornia this bike has definite potential far beyond stock. Bikes don’t wheelie at over a mile of elevation above sea level when they are built as big as the one I rode on with only 25HP!! SORRY CYCLE CRUISER BUT IN THIS CASE IT IS YOUR “facts” WHICH ONLY HAVE 25 H.P.!!! I DO NOT MEAN TO SOUND RUDE DISRESPECTFUL OR CONDESCENDING BUT YOUR “facts” aren’t even factual they are FLAT OUT WRONG ERRORS!!! NOW BEFORE YOU JUMP ON ME OR OTHERS ATTACK CYCLECRUZZA, PLEASE REMEMBER WE ARE ALL HUMAN AND WE ARE ALL ALLOWED TO MAKE A BIG MISTAKE NOW AND THEN!!!! AND THIS IS PRECISELY WHAT I’M CHALKING UP YOUR COLOSSAL ERROR TO IN THIS CASE. I’M STILL GOING TO FOLLOW YOU!!!!!! ONE TIP-(or piece of advice from a guy who was riding when rear mono shocks didn’t exist and remembers when they were new and is closing in on 50 years of riding)-ON REAL NEW MACHINES, IF THE FACTS DON’T JIVE WITH WHAT THEY SHOULD BE, RESERVE JUDGEMENT AND COMMENT UNTIL YOU HAVE TAKEN A LOT MORE TIME TO VERIFY NUMBERS OR YOU HAVE PERSONAL EXPERIENCE!! Now admit your error, and get back on your bike and keep on cruising so I can follow the AWESOME CYCLE-CRUZZA who made an understandably human mistake. DUDE YOU STILL ROCK IN MY BOOK AND I LOVE YOUR YOUTH AND ENTHUSIASM!!! SO KEEP RIDING AND KEEP AND SHARING PLEASE! YOU DO AN EXCELLENT JOB SO I/WE’LL SPOT YOU THIS MISTAKE!!!!! PEACE AND HAPPY TRAILS. OLD DOG
Better off with the wr250r or drz400. People were asking for a 450 dual sport WITH dual sport maintenance. Not this shit... Suzuki has a chance to update their drz with a 6speed and efi. May have to go back to the drawing board but they would steal the market!
Collin Mac - Get a wr250r and mod it, trust me, it's a great bike. You wil ride more than wrench and it's ultra reliable with parts that are super easy to get. Even when I add a 2 stroke, I'm keeping my w250r which can do a little bit of everything. It's like having a swiss army knife of a motorcycle that will never let you down.
$10k for a dual sport is way to much. I would rather just get an outdated drz or the wr250 brand new... Customize either one and still have money leftover well below $10k..
Man not to say anything bad but I do miss the old way you did things. Top 5 top 4 is just getting old. Let’s see some riding again. Sleeper van was awesome.
Are we absolutely certain on the Performance stats & service intervals? If what you are saying is accurate than I just can’t understand why anyone would invest in this. The old 650 dual sports are better. The WR250R is superior. It’s confusing to me. Something appears off.
CycleCruza it makes no sense because its bs you clown. Yes I understand to be euro 5 compliant it needs to be restricted but not by that much, it's either got a throttle stop that's easily removed or it's simply just bullshit information. The majority of non high performance 250cc motorcycles on the market today make around 20-25. Honda aren't stupid they will not spend millions of dollars developing a new motorcycle for it to be no better than their 250 for gods sake. And at the price their asking? Common........
I have WR250r, FMF Q4, powerbomb, removed all crap, airbox open, 13/48.... it is AWESOME - exactly all I want and need in this bike. I change oil every 1000 - 2000 just because I love it and that is overkill..... this Honda looks like a miss- good vid this time you are right :) LOOOOOVE the channel!!
What if you just take out the exhaust-restriction and the intake-restriction?? In my perspective it's just the same as all those Euro-bikes (Husaberg, KTM, Husqvarna 4-strokes).
Y because that's what u have so it must be the best? All 6 of my families bikes are honda and ktm.. They're on the same level... Plus there no way this bike has 25hp, the 450x has 45 and the same compression. Or just throw a bigger carb and exhaust on there and make it a street legal 450r with triple sealed piston for longevity..
Beta 500RRS Is the best deal on the planet period. Fully loaded 1year full warranty, awesome local and USA factory support, been in business the longest...did I mention ridability? Compare for yourself...out of the box nothing comes close, you have to spend big $ on mods to make them work as good as a stock Beta
That bike is marketing & engineering genius for the manufacturer. It will generate residual income far beyond what it is worth; however in this business endeavor as a single paying customer it's best to heed the strategy, apply it to your business and let them find another sucker. Thanks for the tip Cruza.
Just keep on doing those videos and do what u do. It’s fun. Bottom line: u r the first video I watch on a daily basis, so let’s go for a ride... cheers
@Gerry Nicholas - Also, the DRZ only has 5 gears and is *25 lbs heavier* with not all that much more power and requires a little bit more maintenance compared to the wr250r, especially the carb maintenance.. WR250r valve check is at 26,500 miles vs DRZ400 at 18k miles. The Wr250r valves are known to NEVER go out of spec either, even at 50k miles.
yep, I rev the snot out of my wr250x and all I do is fill gas and once a year oil change. I don't even check tire pressure or rad fluid beoz I know they're good
See Honda knows people buying this bike don't want a motocross bike, they give you enough hp to get up the nastiest hill climb but not shred your rear tire when on pavement.
It was a bike with great potential, a bike that was long in the making (looking at you Suzuki), a reliable, low maintenance, 450cc daul sport with FI, a 6-speed transmission, an weighing less than 300lbs, so news of its release was exciting, thus the previous video. However, with this update, it appears Honda made $10K gutter trash called a CRF450L, thus this update video. It's not called being Bi polar or flip flopping. It's just the nature of reporting on something new. Thank you CycleCruza.
The U.S version will have far more power due to different licensing requiremeNvts for our riders. Also, think about how rediculously easy it will be to upgrade this entire bike with Ebay's deep stockpile of CRF450R parts.
A KTM 500 EXC-F requires pretty much a full engine overhaul at 135 hours. My buddy has one and showed me the owners manual. But that's why I'm gonna hang onto my little WR250R a little longer it's hard to beat.
My KTM supermoto is reliable af! I got an old 2000 520sx that was 6 speed swapped and I made it street legal. She has never let me down! I've owned it for over ten years and I've never even done a top end rebuild on it! I even used to run it in the sand dunes/ sand drags with my off road/ sand tire setup. And the miles and miles and miles of wheelies that bike has seen on the street! Can't beat it!
I have the 2017 KTM 500exc, Plenty of "Usable" Power,,,,,, stock! No Motor mods needed, including the exhaust. It did get a skid plate and better seat, not very comfortable long distance, but, offroad, it will do anything and go anywhere. Happy with purchase. $10,500 otd in Phoenix Az.
I bought a like new 2013 XR650L with 1,300 miles on it 2 months ago perfect bike I have two big Cruisers in my garage they sort of just sit there now on a trickle charger LOL that 650l makes me smile every time I pull the sheet off of it and take her for a run
There is NO WAY Honda would even try to sell a bike that size, with that price tag, and basically NO POWER. Honda is way smarter than that. CycleCruza, you received some inaccurate info my friend.
It's hard to believe but pro Honda Kevin says his info was straight from Honda. He has dealings with Honda. www.hondaprokevin.com/2019-honda-crf450l-review-specs-motorcycle-dual-sport
CycleCruza If true, that is quite a failure. I dud hear that the Euro version with more strict emissions limitations would take a hit to power, but that the US version would surpass 40hp. On another note, it's a shame the wr250r is discontinued. I wanted one for years and planned to get one if I get back to the ussa. Too late now.
Got your facts straight! The 25hp was a typo made by an European site.. Honda claims OVER 40hp, and they never list HP on their race bikes.. like this one.
HONEST reveiw! thankyou. Ive had 1-120xr, 1-125cr, 1-350xr,1-250cr,2-500cr & 1- 490 Maico. Ive had a good life with all of them. Honda's are the only way to go! But that Maico,,what a bike!! Ive subscribed. just sayin X2
just like ktm's, honda has put restrictions in the airbox and give it a lean map so it can pass emissions. just remove restrictors and load full power map tu ecu. 40+ hp in 5 mins of work.
Why moving up from the 250, isn't it light, and powerful enough for the trails and fast enough to get on the freeway? I remember hearing you said that 450 would be heavier and harder on the trails.. that KTM does look sweet but I am loyal to Yamaha... so far I have had a good experience with 3 bikes from them... hoping it remains that way.
Detuning doesn't change the bike as bad as people might think. It usually brings the horsepower down but ups the low end torque. So on paper it won't look as good but the power is there where street riders and trail riders need it. Hopefully the 450 will be better than it looks on paper
This all but guarantees he’s going to get one of these now. You would have thought he would have been smart enough to know that that hp figure has to be a mistake.
If I were Honda I would't release true power figures yet, just in case competition takes advantage. Anyway 25hp sounds like a typo to me, we'll have to wait.
Moreover, I won't battle over the comparison with the 500exc. I think KTM did an awesome job on that bike and I'm currently in the market for one. I've been hunting for a supermoto conversion worthy 450cc+ bike and that one checks all the boxes for me. That being said, I too, am a big Honda fan and have been for years. I'm on my 2nd CBR1000RR (I've had a '15 Repsol and '15 HRC -now) and I've had a '12 NC700x, a '07 600RR and a '15 CRF250L, so I can vouch for the performance on each.

CycleCruza I
CycleCruza those horsepower and torque numbers are not for the bikes entering the US market my man.
Ryan T someone needs to change their tampon
Ryan T this is exactly what happened with the wr250r. When the specs were first released everyone was in an uproar because it was stated that the wr250r would only have 15hp, but once it came State side we saw 20hp plus. They do this all the time with motorcycles, they release the European specs first
why though? KTM is European and street legal and has shittons of power.
This video is misinformed and not based on experience you should change it or take it down
Honda fanboy
Teck Rylee no it’s definitely misinformation, the 450L has 25hp in Europe but has 40hp in the states. There’s more to the list but as far as the video is concerned it’s not quite accurate.
"Here in Ohio we don't care about facts"
You dead wrong on this one Cruza... Look forward to the follow up video saying how completely wrong you were...
Honda fanboy
Teck Rylee I feel like you’re actually Cruza with a fake profile
Now would be a great time for some one to say “ you shouldn’t believe everything you read on the internet “
CycleCruza is a dumbass. You can believe that.
Fake news
www.hondaprokevin.com/2019-honda-crf450l-review-specs-motorcycle-dual-sport
NOTE: Pro Honda Kevin WORKS AT HONDA!
honda doesnt even advertise horsepower on their CURRENT bikes and you think this dude got the hp specs for a brand new unreleased bike.
Nope.. your source is incorrect.
Yes.. Hope CycleCruza comes to his senses and deletes this fake news vid. I like CycleCruza but this is a lot of BS in this video.
This was VERIFIED from HONDA :www.hondaprokevin.com/2019-honda-crf450l-review-specs-motorcycle-dual-sport
From his blog: "Quite a few people have expressed concern on multiple forums, comment section below and on social media etc that the CRF450L’s horsepower rating on this page is a typo or incorrect.
CycleCruza it wasn’t a typo on his end, it was BS info from a Honda representative. There’s no way in the world this bike only has 25hp.
("No point dicking about with the engine if service intervals is the same as the MX versions, what would have been the bloody point..!")
The rear frame can take loading, "Not hauling 200kg beer loading, but extra fuel/rotopax, camping gear no worries.", also stated "Yup the fuel tank is the size of a bee's d.......k...... but honda looking at giving a 11L or thereabout option then there will be a safari option within a very short time frame." YAY!....
Will be interesting to see how much BS has been published about this bike and what is indeed fact.... I tend to believe him more than the internet as he'll honestly slag any bike he thinks they cocked up on even if he's selling it... ("250L should have been a great bike, small fuel tank and ridiculously underpowered", according to him LOL..... )
PRO Honda Kevin WORKS AT HONDA! Research is your friend. I tend to believe someone who works at Honda rather than some dude on a forum. lol
You are wrong what you read is fake news the bike has a race engine and it's going to be fast it has the same engine as the crf450r just different cams and piston it's going to have the same power or a little less power then the race bike thats why theres so much mantaince do your homework a little more before you post this video to give people the wrong information
www.hondaprokevin.com/2019-honda-crf450l-review-specs-motorcycle-dual-sport
Pro Honda Kevin works at Honda. Research is your friend.
Trusting 1 article written by 1 guy is not research. Show me REAL indisputable proof that this is true and I'll believe it. Until then I'm not going to trust Pro Honda Kevin!
CycleCruza will kevin still be your friend once the real specs are released and he is wrong?
450L engine is not the same as the 450r by any means
The 250L and 450L have the same hp? I dont think so. Time will tell until honda releases official data
Do they tho?
They have.. In europe for example
Once the ACTUAL Specs are out you will be making a third video saying how good this bike is again.. I will be waiting
25 horsepower is horseshit. I have a 250 starter bike for my daughter and it has 25 horsepower. If a 450 is only making 25 horsepower that is an extremely inefficient engine.
It's because this is fake news. It will have probably double that.
It has over 40
41.7 HP for the CRF450L
UPDATE: Honda clarifies horsepower for CRF450L (Much Faster!) ua-cam.com/video/fUmtzOlqAtc/v-deo.html
Why is this video still on you tube. This was wrong info?
Where are you getting these numbers from man? The CRF450X that this is based on, with same compression, piston etc pushes 45 hp...
Sum Gui Honda itself has confirmed the service intervals:
600miles Oils/Air filter
1800miles valves
~19000miles rebuild
that's where the 19000 miles comes from then, I got ya
Sum Gui Yep. Little bit dissapointing for a street legal enduro bike isn't it.
What do you think about the 2018 cb1000. Looks like a good bike
Dirt bike =KTM all the way
Anas Alalwe
Naw... Maico is better. And KTM has absorbed Maico.
Nah, Yamaha invented everything about dirt. Rest is copy cats :) You know its true.
Anas Alalwe = FANBOY all the way
NEW VIDEO: 5 Reasons why I DID NOT BUY *Honda CRF450L* and Got YZ450FX Instead: ua-cam.com/video/oyDM5VBcKQE/v-deo.html
Dude ktm says that the excf 500 has 25hp but in reality it makes 60hp
Exactly. That figure means nothing. I bet it will be about 40bhp.
Where? KTM does not even release it's hp numbers. Somebody put the 500 exc-f on a dyno, 63 hp!
yeah he never said that the ktm made 25hp?
Honda doesn't release their HP numbers either... what some guy who never dynoed the bike says is hearsay until the bike is put on a dyno...
Sum Gui
But they do... honda says the wet weight and hp on all their bikes ... you must accept that honda probably really fucked up ... and bdw honda did approve the stats that the ,, some guy,, said :)

Dude cmon maaaaan? Lol. The horsepower issue is wrong. That dude is not talking to Honda.
"Fake news" "turd"? Lol did you get that from me? Dude get a 500!
www.hondaprokevin.com/2019-honda-crf450l-review-specs-motorcycle-dual-sport
CycleCruza yeah. That guy is not Honda. He is quoting the European Honda Press release. We still don't have numbers for the North American version.
You didn't even ride this thing.
Really man? You back and forth on every topic, just looking double the channel view count?
(O.K. I admit my last statement isn’t true but it sure as heck seems like it!)
One last suggestion, unless you personally own, have owned, OR have a family member, friend or a dealer with a bike who is willing to let you seriously test ride it I suggest dialing back the unsubstantiated “I AM THE AUTHORITY/EXPERT” rhetoric and commentary!!!!
OLD DOG
THATS THE EUROPEAN VERSION
Inb4 he buys it and says it's the greatest bike in the world
naw man. lol Honda is no longer in the business of making cutting edge bikes. Their full on dirt bikes are still good though.
PSYCHOCRUZA
*NEW VIDEO:* 5 BAD Things About Dual Sports: ua-cam.com/video/h9JIs9jADgA/v-deo.html
Better off with the wr250r or drz400. People were asking for a 450 dual sport WITH dual sport maintenance. Not this shit... Suzuki has a chance to update their drz with a 6speed and efi. May have to go back to the drawing board but they would steal the market!
Exactly! It may cost about 9k. Would you still buy it?
Fuck yea! It would definitely help my channel grow
I don't understand how KTM can make a 500 exc-f and japan can't? Probably because KTM sells less bikes, they must get an exemption..
CycleCruza who knows man. I might just say fuck it and get a wr and mod it like you lol
Collin Mac - Get a wr250r and mod it, trust me, it's a great bike. You wil ride more than wrench and it's ultra reliable with parts that are super easy to get. Even when I add a 2 stroke, I'm keeping my w250r which can do a little bit of everything. It's like having a swiss army knife of a motorcycle that will never let you down.
im glad you are open to being wrong after hyping the thing up before it flopped, good work
DRZ is loling right now
7k vs 10k, I'm still set on the DRZ400SM just for that reason alone and it will be more than enough as my first bike.
Well it's not going to have 25 hp this guy is a idiot. But drz is shit to throw some slicks on on a real motobike. But yeah Suzuki is shit.
They're both good and far from being trash/shit but DRZ400SM is just better and still the king of supermoto/dualsport lol
Just don't buy a drz if you want to do highway- 5 gear problem solved lmao. Just wheelie it and smile on the back roads
PistnRods I have a 2017 DRZ 400 SM and I was considering trading it for this bike now I’m LOL Ing as well
$10k for a dual sport is way to much. I would rather just get an outdated drz or the wr250 brand new... Customize either one and still have money leftover well below $10k..
Exactly, and wayyyy less wrenching and better reliability.
Still only have something half baked either way ....you have to pay to play ...always have
The way I read it, the European version has 24 hp. The U.S. version is closer to 45 hp.
Man not to say anything bad but I do miss the old way you did things. Top 5 top 4 is just getting old. Let’s see some riding again. Sleeper van was awesome.
NEW VIDEO! My YZ450FX vs WR250R - Do I HATE my WR250R Now: ua-cam.com/video/_-cJj5AlncI/v-deo.html
Are we absolutely certain on the Performance stats & service intervals? If what you are saying is accurate than I just can’t understand why anyone would invest in this. The old 650 dual sports are better. The WR250R is superior. It’s confusing to me. Something appears off.
It makes no sense to me either. Why would someone get a crf450l with dirt bike maintenance for $10,300 but is only a 25 hp?
I’m kind of hoping the hp and service figures will be improved once actual bike is launched. I got really excited when this was first announced.
You're just better of picking up the old XR650L dual sport. All for the nice price of $6000.
No FI tho and a bit heavy.
Deep Verma they have a brand new one for $4900 where I live new old stock
Its tall as fuck too!
Collin Mac i had one and it was the best bike ever.... if you were 7 feet tall
where is one for $4900 ?? Thanks, William
crf250l is 22.8 hp. There's no possible way the crf450l only has 25hp. Honda made a typo...
My opinion this bike is craizy toooooooooooooo expensive !!!
especially with those shitty power specs. For $500 more you might as well get a KTM 500 exc-f that kills the crf450l in every way.
Thomas Taylor
And here we have another honda diehard fanboy :\, im sad to bring you the news but, it is way too expensive for what it is ...
I'm confused. Why does my 2018 ktm 300 2 stroke have almost double the hp and is street legal. Same hold true for my 2010 Kawi' KX450....
Damn I was hyped but after hearing those specs it sounds like trash
ManaChan Yeah it doesnt hold enough oil to be a dual sport
What if you just take out the exhaust-restriction and the intake-restriction?? In my perspective it's just the same as all those Euro-bikes (Husaberg, KTM, Husqvarna 4-strokes).
ffs, as I said before. Get a KTM / HUSQVARNA it's just better in every way
Remus Gherase Beta...
RJ proved it, the 701sm that he had for 2 weeks shreded the street
Except long term reliability.
That bike is marketing & engineering genius for the manufacturer. It will generate residual income far beyond what it is worth; however in this business endeavor as a single paying customer it's best to heed the strategy, apply it to your business and let them find another sucker. Thanks for the tip Cruza.
Guess I'll keep looking at DRZ400s on Craigslist
Just keep on doing those videos and do what u do. It’s fun. Bottom line: u r the first video I watch on a daily basis, so let’s go for a ride... cheers
1 hp more then the 250l lol
Soichiro Honda is rolling over in his grave.
Id rather get the 250l. Yes its heavier but you het dual sport maintenance and i believe a slightly larger tank with better mpg at half the price lol
truth
The 25hp was a typo
I have a crf450l with an aftermarket ecu and exhaust. It rips. Please tell me you mind has changed over tiem
hey cycle cruza
WR250r's rule dude,,(thumbs up)
So far nothing is better, as far as super low maintenance and the ability to be able to do a little bit of everything and ultra reliable.
Only thing I’d say is better is the drz but if I remember right no fuel injection with those.
Not enough hp and the engine is to small.
yep, I rev the snot out of my wr250x and all I do is fill gas and once a year oil change. I don't even check tire pressure or rad fluid beoz I know they're good
This is a 40+ hp very reliable well designed bike. I own a ktm 640 and considering a switch to the 450l.
See Honda knows people buying this bike don't want a motocross bike, they give you enough hp to get up the nastiest hill climb but not shred your rear tire when on pavement.
NEW VIDEO: WR250R 3.0 Stealth Bike Finally Revealed: ua-cam.com/video/qhwO1rlDLYM/v-deo.html
How can you evaluate the bike without riding it?
It was a bike with great potential, a bike that was long in the making (looking at you Suzuki), a reliable, low maintenance, 450cc daul sport with FI, a 6-speed transmission, an weighing less than 300lbs, so news of its release was exciting, thus the previous video. However, with this update, it appears Honda made $10K gutter trash called a CRF450L, thus this update video. It's not called being Bi polar or flip flopping. It's just the nature of reporting on something new. Thank you CycleCruza.
If I had the information I have now, that first video would be this video. I'm just updating my viewers.
So if u had to choose wr250 r or the ktm500 for first bike what would u choose????
So your saying if I make a crf 150r street legal I pretty much have a 450l?
The U.S version will have far more power due to different licensing requiremeNvts for our riders. Also, think about how rediculously easy it will be to upgrade this entire bike with Ebay's deep stockpile of CRF450R parts.
Great video! Awesome van! 😁💖👍
A KTM 500 EXC-F requires pretty much a full engine overhaul at 135 hours. My buddy has one and showed me the owners manual. But that's why I'm gonna hang onto my little WR250R a little longer it's hard to beat.
I asked for an xr 650 with a water cooled motor. 25 is soft. The price? I can get much more bike.
Great reviews man always love watching your reviews I just got me a Honda PCX 150 scooter life baby
I told you bro . Glad you saw my comment last video.
I have photos of the CRF450L. First one to arrive in Florida. I'm picking it up tomorrow :)
J.W. King where did u get it
My KTM supermoto is reliable af!
Ps, thanks for the new riders playlist I'm going to work thru it nightly before bed and learn what I can from you
There is NO WAY Honda would even try to sell a bike that size, with that price tag, and basically NO POWER. Honda is way smarter than that. CycleCruza, you received some inaccurate info my friend.
but how much torque does it have?
I'm a huge honda fan but this guy is speaking truth, he didn't leave anything out
hondas are always under powered. compare the honda 680 rincon to any 500 cc quad, and they make the same horsepower
still love honda anyway owned many
I don’t think that’s right. 25hp? I hope you’re wrong I got really excited for it.
I don't believe for a second that the horsepower on this bike will be less than 40. No way.
It's hard to believe but pro Honda Kevin says his info was straight from Honda. He has dealings with Honda.

If true, that is quite a failure. I dud hear that the Euro version with more strict emissions limitations would take a hit to power, but that the US version would surpass 40hp.
On another note, it's a shame the wr250r is discontinued. I wanted one for years and planned to get one if I get back to the ussa. Too late now.
Wait for the second generation of this bike.
A review of a bike you don't own, haven't ridden, full of misinformation.
Exactly
Got your facts straight! The 25hp was a typo made by an European site.. Honda claims OVER 40hp, and they never list HP on their race bikes.. like this one.
Intake, exhaust, tune. This thing will rock. All this from a KTM guy.
Hey CycleCruza what do you think of a klx250 compared to the WR250?
WR250R all day!
I'm never getting rid of my wr250r. I will probably add a 2 stroke at some point, possibly the new 2019 KTM 300 tpi.
Detuning doesn't change the bike as bad as people might think. It usually brings the horsepower down but ups the low end torque. So on paper it won't look as good but the power is there where street riders and trail riders need it. Hopefully the 450 will be better than it looks on paper
I own a 2018 fe 501 and it comes out the box with 30 hp. U need all the fuel kit fmf pipe and emisions delet to get any where near 60hp
I’m just gonna continue saving up for an Africa Twin as an upgrade to my CRF Rally
Just purchased mine. Picking on up in the morning. I’ll let you know what I think.
I looked on the Honda Website. I found no mention of HP. Where did you find the HP stat?
Pretty sure the HP figure was misprinted. Seems like a crazy mistake though.
My 1995 KLX250 has 27 hp stock and that thing is a beast
I'm not a dirt bike guy, but I enjoyed this video. I like your point of view and thorough review.
Thanks!
Well... back to building our own again LOL.
This all but guarantees he’s going to get one of these now. You would have thought he would
have been smart enough to know that that hp figure has to be a mistake.
Tell me why Honda would sell a 450 with the same power as their 250 dual sport...should i spend $10,000 or $5,000 for the same amount of power
makes zero sense but Honda has been getting more vanilla every year.
but the 450 is 28 pounds lighter...nothing in the world makes sense anymore
If I were Honda I would't release true power figures yet, just in case competition takes advantage. Anyway 25hp sounds like a typo to me, we'll have to wait.
I have to say. I really don’t like when people review bikes they haven’t rode. Regardless of manufacture or model.
Does it really make 25 horesies where you got the number i cant find it if hand made like that i guess WHY it makes like 3 more hp than the xr 250
I'm on my 2nd CBR1000RR (I've had a '15 Repsol and '15 HRC -now) and I've had a '12 NC700x, a '07 600RR and a '15 CRF250L, so I can vouch for the performance on each.
hey CycleCruza, now that you're talking about bikes specs, what do you think about the KTM Duke 390 ?
I'm not 100% sold on KTM street bikes reliability. KTM Dirt bikes seem to be pretty solid these days.
haha, no problem man, thank you :) good videos
