Those "breaths" that are taken in between shifts sound AMAZING!!! Each gear revs nice and slow for you to enjoy and then that gasp in between is musical!
Van31 A couple things. I know my 74 targa has a 915 transmission and by modern standards, the throws are very long with the OEM shifter. Thats why you get those gaps in between. I wouldnt doubt he is double clutching all the shifts just because he wants to. The 915 transmission just feels better when you double clutch both the up shifts and down shifts. Its also a lot more fun too. You dont have to, but its just nice haha. If you ever get the chance to drive one, do it. Hope this helps! Cheers! ^^
A masterpiece ! You guys really nailed the feeling of driving that kind of car that I imagined, just the engine reving, no music, always wanting more RPM
This video exemplifies the feeling of being one with the car. Nothing like a night time drive in a very analog car. This is what it feels like to be ALIVE.
Awesome! Respect to the camera operator, too, really getting among it in some of those gimbal shots, they're not afraid to be part of the action, that's for sure.
Imagine how hard it must have been to run alongside a Porsche 911 at 60mph without falling over or dropping the camera. Or clinging to the roof without falling off or etc.
I love how Magnus has almost brought a new perspective on not only porsche as a brand but its culture and following an a whole! Now if only we could get him to come to the PNW. Porsche cruise anyone? :)
What Bubble? For a bubble to exist they have to be making more of something. And they are no longer making vintage air cooled Porsche cars. I think the sky is the limit, I just hope that real people will continue to own the cars and drive them. They are art in motion, and should be used.
Josh Austin Not necessarily. There can be a finite amount produced, all that needs to change is amount introduced to the market following a sudden increase of demand from shift in extrinsic value of consumer base leading to an upward spiral of market price. The fact there is a finite base makes it even worse because growth is impossible and capitalism relys on growth and surplus value which there is none of. It's happened in different car markets before. The expensive stuff stays expensive and sometimes gains price actually but the not so special high volume produced stuff, that got a boost in price with an increase of the rare volume stuff going up, drops in price. Like for instance the 911 SCs of the world that are far to expensive for what that are or the 912E.
Rene Hourian We can agree to disagree, I own a 911sc and love to see the car that I paid a cheap price in Porsche terms turn into a 40k car. I can't say I have seen it in other car markets, but right now the air cooled Porsche does seem to be the one to have. Not sure why the SC got the bastard Porsche moniker, even though it has a much better put together engine with the 3.0 and far less mechanical problems than years past. I understand it's not a turbo, or an S. It's also not a 912 which are still going for crazy prices, I passed on a 912 about a year ago that went for $7000 which I thought was nuts, and now they are trading for high teens to low 20s. I still say they are not making anymore air cooled cars, so I don't see the value going down. But I don't care, mine is not an investment, it's my fun get my ass in trouble car, I throw my track tires in the back and go to a track day and bolt back on the street tires and drive her home. I hope you have one and are enjoying it as well. Take care my friend.
Same, out of al my friends who use those weaponized vehicles, I'm the only one who takes the driving aspect in the game to heart. When I'm not online with them doing the latest Heist of some sort, I'm on the highway driving the Futo (I like the AE86 and its the closest I can get) to its limits. I don't go for a lot of power in it, all I have done is the engine and transmission at race-spec, along with the brakes and suspension. It's fun to just drive around on the game and even cruise with other players!
Can never get over the shot at 1:25 Midnight cityscape in the background, the way the car's stiff suspension makes it bounce on the slightest bumps, the sound of that intoxication downshift.... this is my automotive dream
Awesome, trully awesome.....life is really too short to drive boring cars....this is real tribute to all that love classic sport cars, just for what they mean and make us feel....no bussiness or politics, just pure passion....
I used to drive through LA and remember how beautiful it was at night (depending which part of town and if you can beat traffic). I just realized something.... Most designers love the 911s. I remember talking to another fellow designer at the Pasadena Art Center and I remember how they would talk 911s and it's pure shape and form. It's not like other cars. The iconic shape is like a blank canvas and you get to build it exactly the way you see it and yet still hold the 911 shape. I believe designers love the 911 for it's simplicity and it's just a badass car. Your video is motion art brother. love it!
As I sit here wistfully lamenting that the time in my life of roaring engines on lonely streets has gone, I also am thankful that I am still here, alive and in one piece, save for the ravages of time. Good luck to the young who can still risk take and gamble, may you survive to pass the message of joy and regrets.
This weekend I'm driving down to Kentucky to pick up one of my all time dream cars, a 1981 Datsun 280zx. It's definitely on my bucket list now to run the LA lap in that car.
Fantastic! I love the cinematography in this piece. So difficult shooting at night as it is but to get such amazing shots is fantastic. Bravo and more like this please!
Just pure music to the ears. Nothing quite like an air cooled flat 6 Porsche. Magnus is sure one fortunate cool guy. Shame such cars now are so expensive to the normal car enthusiast.
Thank you for not adding any music. Nothing better than the sound of a flat-6
