I recently got a Miele Triflex HX1 Performance cordless vacuum and I must admit it erased the thought from my mind that I need a dyson. Absolute beast of a machine with up to 60min of runtime, changable battery, high quality materials and whatnot. However I still love to watch your videos about these products!
I was ready to buy an hx2 when I saw some videos on it but they won't be released in the states until October so I went with the v15 detect. While it costs more, I am happy with it.
Although I like the look of the V15 I'm not convinced it's worth double the amount of the V7....it was still good to see the comparison though. Thanks for taking the time to explain the differences.
I just ordered the V15 Detect because Dyson is currently offering 20% off here in the U.S. PLUS I got $100 off the Docking Station. I couldn't pass that up. Thank you for the review. I have a Cavalier King Charles and she has a lot of hair even though I take her outside and brush her, she still sheds and we have hardwood floors. Plus I feel that the V15 is a better machine and I wanted a HEPA filter. I saved $260 US dollars today so I'm very happy with my purchase. I didn't want to wait for Black Friday here (Thanksgiving Holiday) for fear it would be sold out. I have wanted a Dyson for a long long time, so I finally got it. I have a little hand-held one that I absolutely love....have no complaints at all.
the boing is because it is a digital motor and the motor works by two electromagnets either side of the motor which rapidly alternate and when the trigger is released, both magnets are operational and the armature turns side to side (clockwise/anticlockwise) while it neutralises between the two magnets as it spins so rapidly and comes to a sudden stop. This site to side motion is what causes the 'boing' sound of a Dyson digital motor, as a traditional motor has a wind down sound as it slowly comes to a halt. Hope this helps when customers ask :)
I have both the V10 Absolute and the aging DC35. I kept the DC35 mainly because of its narrower motor drive head, ideal for those narrower spaces, but it only has about 15m run time. The V10 will let me clean my 100 sq m unit on a single charge (mix of carpet and tiles). The bigger bin means I don't have to stop and empty it part way through. My V10 came with the extendable flexible crevice tool and expanding flexible hose which are great for getting in some harder to reach places. I will probably be keeping both for some time as they each have their good points.
Been using my Dyson V7 for 5 years now. Battery life got very short so got a aftermarket piece to use my Dewalt batteries. Will use the V7 till the motor dies.
it would be really good if Dyson launched the v12 in the uk, as it is like a more compact lightweight version of the v15 and it is button operational which is really good for the elderly. I don't understand why Dyson release different variants for different countries, its really annoying
I have crazy allergies and a pet I love the price of the 7 but the 15 is better for a person like myself and I'm also a clean freak By the way your accent is cute.
Just purchased the v15 detect but noticed for 50 dollars more you can get the v15 detect absolute...however....I can't find out anywhere what the difference is.
Yeah I'm so confused. They have both on their website here in America and the absolute costs 50 bucks more than the standard detect. I do not understand.
meh. Chinese cordless already have led lights on the head, already have always on trigger lock, already have swappable battery. Dyson these days = expensive knock-off of Chinese innovation. 3 years behind Great China products.

i seriously looked into a Miele HX1 but then i released they are not a seal unit. :/
What about the dust container? Some people say it’s small and complicated to empty 😬I’m really confused 😐

That is a great explanation. Thanks very much
Thank you for the comprehensive review! I was going to buy the V7, now I’m definitely getting the v15 absolute

Thank you Andy..always very thorough. Very helpful. This helped me decide which model to get.. Dyson should pay you!!
Unlike some of the larger items you hilight (major appliances), these items are available in my country. Thanks for the info.

"What i want to do" love the videos haha
Snort a line every time he says that
Great review
Will laser fluffy attachment work on v8, or v7?
Sorry, but I wouldn't pay that price for a V15 Delect Absolute £600 as I've got a V7 Absolute about £170
There's no Absolute variation of the V15 in the US. The Detect comes with everything that's included with models labeled as Absolute in other regions.
That's correct Dyson will name some of the vacuums differently depending on the country which i don't know why.

Hi, you just forget to show it that laser brush working on the older model or not . I think it is, thats why it is sold out in dyson website .
