That is one of my favourites I too would love to hear him sing it Oh and I won't send Roses Oh the magic I also listen to Radio head creep it's a strange brain I have Jenny Guernsey 🇬🇬 ♥
Yes, I was! The Lancelot didn’t want to get up early to be on TV! It is still one of my favorites. I usually sing the opening verse “Toujours j’ai eu le meme voeux” which not everyone recognizes, and when the big tune starts people go “ah...” in recognition. What a wonderful show it is! Camelot and My Fair Lady are pure gold.
@@peterkendallclarkbar You have a very fine voice! However when you sing this song it invites comparisons. I personally feel Robert Goulet was the finest musical theater baritone I’ve ever heard. You also have real talent that Im sure you’ve worked years to hone. Apologies if I’ve offended.
Thank you for my EULOGY! (kidding) We thought it was pretty good for 7 AM with no rehearsal! Plus, I was playing Arthur and the Lancelot couldn’t be bothered to do the morning promo! At least our makeup was on point!
@@peterkendallclarkbar You’ve done better than I. In a community theater production of “Camelot” I played 2nd Knight. My highlight was the solo intro in “Fie on Goodness” random lines in ensemble songs and of course a lot of harmony singing. It was great experience! Best of luck with your fine talent!
@@pjk9056 It's one of my favorite shows of all time, and I've been lucky enough to be Arthur three times (covering Lancelot once). Coincidentally, Paul Huddleston, who was one of the original Knights on Broadway is the father of my friend Kate, who was my marvelous Madame Armfeldt in A Little Night Music a few years back. Fie on goodness is such a fun number (though never included when I did the show.) Paul may have sung your solo! It's great we have our theatre memories to get us through these dark times. Cheers!
Kind Sir, I fail to understand the spirit of your remark. You crushed me? You HAVE a crush on me? You could have done this at LSU? Youth wants to know! Happy singing!
@@peterkendallclarkbar I am obviously not kind, but based on the fact that you are from a small town, you didn't deserve the harsh critic. Not your fault I missed my 'calling'.
Beautiful voice for a beautiful song. Thank you for sharing.
Golly this gave me goosebumps Its just sheer gold molten gold 💛 Thank-you for sharing such a wonderful memory

Is there anyway you could record younger than springtime God I’d love to hear you sing that.

Great voice and I read you were filling in for your co-worker. Hopefully you have kept this in your repertoire

Watch Goulet's UA-cam performance on the "Ed Sullivan Show." He sang with unparalleled emotional longing.

Beautiful Interpretation.
He prounces his R's correctly.
Just wonderful. You would have made a brilliant Lancelot too.
Thank you! I still love singing (and teaching) this ballad. Too bad we didn’t do the opening French verse…
@@peterkendallclarkbar There is always another opportunity. One day maybe, one day.

Thank you for clarifying!
Good but not Goulet.

Ha! How embarrasing. I am 71 been singing for 3 years and just crushed this guy on an iphone. I could have done this at LSU 50 years ago.

Well, you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. Cheers from Brooklyn (my small town) and don’t give up on your dreams.
