India is providing security to the entire Indian Ocean region from the Red Sea to the Malacca Strait amid Chinese provocations in the high seas. How is it checkmate unless it possesses overwhelming jamming and electronic warfare capabilities and unless Indian navy's snooping vessels are anchored in the international waters of the littoral Indo-Pacific to take the battle to China's homefront? Samudra Ratnakar is a surveyor ship and its deployment carries a message that India has the right to carry out surveys in the Indian ocean but it does carry any retailatory note.
