Thank you so, so much for sharing this process to folks like us!! I feel very lucky getting to see what the process of creating 'industry-level' art is like, especially getting to see all the changes you make from the little bits of feedback you receive through notes from what I'm assuming is an art director!! You have such talent, and it shows in your process from beginning to end. Kudos, and I hope that you continue making such lovely pieces!!!
as a beginner digital artist , seeing your gorgeous works and the whole process just inspired me and gave me passion to continue. Thank you so much ! You are amazing 🤩
Your process is so weird, i mean, the way you handle the layers and effects is so dfferent >u< but that doesn't mean is bad, i mean, its really amazing! thanks for the video!
It's actually logical. Basically the base layers are straight painting then adjustments, lighting vfx, and textures are on top. Use this logic on every individual part like the hands, head, etc. And you end up with tons of layers...On top of it all are adjustment layers just like when they edit film. That's the whole logic of it. Technically I can just flatten each part and it will work out fine too but revisions will be harder.
@@deivcalviz I see, but i mean like how you paint the lighting, you add like a solid color and mask it and start to paint like that, instead of just using a normal layer and add the lighting with the brush
@@skatedanMonster Yup that makes it easier to revise the lighting but yeah dont overthink it. Manually painting it is fine as well. This is just my method.
thank you for not squashing this into 15 minutes or less i would have never noticed the process of your rendering as much i did now. my amature self would have thought my art was finished after seeing the first 10 minutes smh
Omg found you through artstation, you're making like art spotlights from like 8 years ago that Riot used to do, loved them, those were so dope and so are these! Thank you so much!
Im loving all your art since i discovered your chanel is there any advice you feel like you wouldhave like to receive when you were starting your art studies? I look forward to keep learning about every stuff you post thanksss!!
It's easy to lose motivation at the start so I recommend alternating between doing basics and the topics you truly love to draw. I also recommend joining art communities or challenges to help keep it going. Sometimes I watch livestreams while painting to feel like I'm doing it with someone and it helps me stay motivated when doing boring stuff. Just keep studying the basics. Good drawing skills is the most important thing and mastering it will make your life way easier and you will enjoy it more.
Perfect artwork!! So beautiful. Watching your work healed my heart. Great work as always!! Thank you for sharing this inspirational work. I support you. My friend.
Thanks! I have a small tutorial here: I will do a splash art tutorial soon! www.artstation.com/marketplace/p/o0MD/line-art-to-hyper-realism-fantasy-portrait-illustration
Thankyou for posting your process vids i was inspired to render like this and will practice on it! :D . And to think you're from PH too i was inspired more. Please keep posting vids and inspire fellow artists and more artworks to you man. Paweeer! :D
I love ur art so much. Can u post a vid of ur personal style? Like a personal piece instead of splash art. I would love to see it. (Not that I don’t like these splash art vids). 🥰🥰
Are you free to do a complete full tutorial on how shading works and also how texture works? For like and example of woods, planks, metal blades etc.But im not forcing you it’s kind ajust a suggestion if your free😊
@@deivcalviz Thank you for noticing me!! I really don’t expect that tbh xD. Im really inspired by your work! It’s really hard to paint on procreate too tho since I don’t have a drawing tablet yet. Oh btw can you also do a tutorial on how you color turn greyscale to colored on procreate if you already knew it but if not you can do it on photoshop😊. I promise, people would love that kind of tutorial, and I really love how your brushes are free we love it 😍 Your not just talented but generous too. This channel would prob grow, goodluck!
Woah!!I can't believe I watched this for free~ tbh I always get curious how this and that splash art are made like I literally appreciate the little details xD!! すごい ~!~!
how many hours on average per day would you say you work consistently on these art projects? also i’m curiousness does the splash team tweak your work with all the layers you have? is there a way for them to receive the art with the all the layers or do they have to just color over the whole image? i hope this makes sense😅also you did a great job, i hope to be just as detailed and as skilled as you one day
Oh man that looks amazing! Do you have any tips for masking characters with the lasso tool? Whenever I mask things out, they always look ugly, and the edges are "unclean," like they're super jagged and stuff.
You can check if the anti alias is checked for the lasso. Adding more feathering to the lasso also helps. You can also use the pen tool instead for better curves. If all else fails.. I would just use a solid brush to do the masks. I prefer using the brush for that these days.
I'm only using a soft round brush in this piece for the sketch. Recently I learned to switch to using a soft round brush instead of the hard edge. Using a soft round brush for the lines makes it smoother and softer looking. 🙂
For rendering the best way to learn is to study each type of material. Do studies of metal, rock, cloth, etc. Then apply what you learned into your artwork. However what's more important is to get a basic understanding on how lighting works and how to light a scene to get the emotion you want. A good book for lighting is "Color and Light" by james gurney.
Yup I am allowed to share it. But I'd rather not. Almost nobody will sit through 50-80+ hrs of realtime painting. I also need to make sure I edit it properly so I don't show any references or NDAs which will take forever to do. I plan to do a new in depth splash tutorial in the future that covers everything.
@@deivcalviz oh that's nice! I've found your splash art tutorial on Artstation and I really wanted to see more in-depth content about this kind of illustration.
It's a complex topic but I think the simplest way to think about it is by grouping the values to keep the focus on where you want it to. Like in this painting, Amumu's face has complete values with the strongest highlights on the side and the darkest shadows in his neck area. This keeps the focus on him while on the background, all the values are in the midtone so that they don't distract. In terms of light direction, you need to study lots of photos, movies, etc to know all the available options.
I really like the lengthy videos and seeing the full process, thank you! :)
