    Wasn't expecting to hear a shout out when I watched this! 🙏 The conversion looks great and sounded great on the gig too! Congrats!

      I had to! Your channel has been so helpful for me doing things with my electronic drum kit and I used the slate drum kit download that you sell. I’m still trying to figure out how to get those sounds in my triggers but it’s coming along.

    Nice job 🤘😎
    It's wild what Roland and DW(e) are charging for their full size kits when we can easily convert any kit for a fraction of the cost.

      Yep! It’s honestly mind blowing what they charge for nice E-kits.

    Good stuff. I did a kit bash of a Simmons 1250D, Roland TD50x digital expansion kit, and a converted kick drum. Always good to see kits with personal touches.

      I bet that was a cool kit! I agree custom drum kits are always more fun.

      @@thechristinedemeo definitely it’s serving me very well. I don’t plan on ever using acoustic again so the cost of expansion kit was well worth it. Playing drums is a form of expression but I also feel the drum set up is also art and expression. Enjoy your kit! Careful about the bug you might just keep adding or customizing hahaha

    As you said in the video, it seems so easy that feels a bit wrong :D Congrats for the video, thinking of doing the conversion myself as well and it motivates me. And nice groovy drumming as well, keep it up! Cheers

    Did something similar with 2 Simmons e-kits and a Pearl SMX Aquamarine Fade...bassist had 1 ekit then bought another (still had the original box and styrofoam on CL....a few hours and not much of a mess later, we managed to remove the vent ports on all the shells to feed the cables through...used part of the e-kit rack to mount both modules and 3 drum pads as "rotos" tuned in and cranked up it did ok but the surface of the heads with the pads pressed against em by the styrofoam made for an unexpectedly quick rebound...cranking the volume automatically reduced the desire to "attack" the kit...once removed after my superhoops and ebony pinstripes arrived I'd never desire to re-install those pads but it was affordable and mixed well (we didn't have a snake, mics, stands etc). Cheers!!

      😂 sounds like quite the contraption! I wish we could see a pic of that set up. Either way this was such a fun project and I’m loving the results.

      @@thechristinedemeo once on my mix page, it's the 1st image of the video you'll see the bassist has a red bass...u gotta zoom in to see the trigger pads as "rotos" but u can clearly see the black rings (cymbal triggers) and if u give it a listen u can tell its not acoustic...fun while it lasted...in the grid of images u can see everything back to acoustic when we recorded at Sugarhill studio in Houston...was a great sounding kit but the bassist quit to have a stable home life so I traded the kit for a Triumph Thunderbird triple. Sold the bike for another that I ended up trading in on a truck that the clutch went out on. Sold the truck for a custom Rockett Works. GC ins paid off the loan bc it was damaged during shipping...pawned the kit for dwn pmnt on my 3rd Harley (2nd big-twin) and got into a crash when an 80yo blew a red and forced me out of my lane...HDs don't jump curbs. Years later I got me a Pearl Maple DLX (reference GnR 1988. Ritz) Steven's was Black, mine is my birthstone Emerald Green. Mic sux but I'll post up one day. Cheers!!

    Wow, that was cooool… I didn’t even know that was a “thing” …(drum conversion).. but it is! And how great is that? Able look like traditional drums but with the ability to tweak sounds and be able to lower volume for smaller/ quieter venues! Awesome…

    • @thechristinedemeo
      @thechristinedemeo  Місяць тому +2

      It’s so much better playing an e-kit in certain venues rather than an acoustic kit. I wish more bands would jump on board because acoustic kits are just too much for most venues.

      @@thechristinedemeo ouch so many times I've been asked to play quieter, even when I am already doing so xD

    Not a cheap conversion considering how much the triggers and mesh heads cost

    • @thechristinedemeo
      @thechristinedemeo  27 днів тому

      Nah definitely not cheap, but for myself it was worth it. Really loved the look of this thing.
