The Road Warriors were at their best when they had Paul Ellering managing them and before they ever came to WWF. I get why they went to WWF, but at the same time, I wish they had never gone to the WWF.
They were there on at least three different occasions. Once in the Early 1990s, once again in the 1997 timeframe, I believe, and then, a third time, in the Early 2000s, with (Of all people!😁😁😁), Sunny as their Manager! You're most definitely right, though...they did better with "Precious" Paul Ellering. Heaven rest their souls...to me, they're always going to be the Best Tag-Team of all time!!! Rest In Peace, Animal and Hawk!!! We love ya, and we miss ya!!!
@ronaldshank7589 I believe (from what I have heard) Paul Ellering was almost like a father figure in some ways to Hawk. He was the one guy who could actually keep Hawk on the right path somewhat. He genuinely looked out for the best interests of both Hawk and Animal. Paul Ellering's role as manager of the Road Warriors was far more than what we saw on TV. He made their travel arrangements and took care of their business arrangements and negotiated contracts for them. He was also a great mentor to them when they were green in the business. And last but not least Ellering was entertaining as their manager. He played that evil genius super villain kind of role very well. He just fit well with Hawk and Animal in every way. I wished we could have seen far more of the Road Warriors with Precious Paul Ellering as their manager.
@@FuzzyWuzzy75 Paul Ellering was basically Hawk's babysitter, that's why WWF hired him in 92 and then in 98, he was the only one that Hawk would listen.
Met Jim in 08. He was totally out of it on drugs, slurring his words. We talked about mountain bikes, he’d just bought a full suspension specialized. Met Bret a few times over the years and he’s always a class act. Always friendly and always cool.
Looking back, that is easily a dream match. Would have loved to have seen what it could have been at its best. When LOD came to WWF, I didn't think Demolition was anywhere near their level. And I believe that was the natural first place to take it. They never went over quite like they did in the NWA. Partially because Vince apparently didn't want to pay Black Sabbath to use Iron Man for their intro. Hawk was a truly gifted wrestler. It was typically him that worked 65% of the match, and Animal would come in on the hot tag and clean house. Hard to believe so many of these legends are gone so young. Bret is the only one left from both teams. God bless them all. Thank you for making wrestling special back then.
The Nasty Boys were some characters. I met them about 15 years ago at a mall signing in Glen Burnie, MD and I asked them about the Willie Nelson story about them giving him one of the tag belts. They said Vince was still mad at them about that LOL. Great guys, even if they weren't the best workers in the world.
That match between the Harts and LOD is on the Road Warriors dvd set released by WWE in 2005; not a bad match, but yeah it should have been a hundred times bigger and better. It could have been the match at Wrestlemania 7 but instead it was taped for a Coliseum Video VHS, that says it all. 😕
Demolition even wanted matches with LOD to be competitive and have LOD go over. Ax stated LOD just wanted to be dominant, but convincingly so. In other words another squash match. LOD was effectively the tag team version of the Ultimate Warrior. It is too bad, as Demolition vs LOD was a WrestleMania dream match. Instead LOD matches overall in the WWF were all crap, regardless who they went against.@@donjohn2695
@donjohn2695 That's not true at all, they could work lenghty matches as well. Go watch some of the matches they had with the High Flyers and the Hennigs in the AWA (some are on UA-cam), or their matches with the Midnight Express and Arn & Tully (Starrcade 87) for Crockett, or the matches with Money Inc or the Nasty Boys in WWF, as well as some of the fights they had in Japan....they could work long matches if needed, but the money was on them having short "in your face" matches, that's what the fans wanted to see from them.
Against Demolition. Not likely fans would buy LOD doing squash matches against them. It would be a waste for both teams. Demolition vs LOD should have been planned out like Ultimate Warrior vs Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania 6.@@jonathanturbide2232
It's unfortunate that this couldn't have been better the Hart'd against L.O.D could have been similar to L.O.D working against Arn and Tully from the Horseman but just never came together.
I was heard that Jim anvil was always making Bret laugh no matter what he did like just looking at him you already starting laughing. I remember Bret said he hard time splitting up from him cause he so close with him he just didn’t want to see him separate from him. It sucks Jim died.
@@Rocket1377 Bret said "kiss your wound". I'm asking if that is a term, like snug, bump, potato and receipt. If a wrestler accidentally was excessively rough and hurt his opponent he might apologize after the match and that would be considered kissing the wound.

I smiled when Jim Neidhart sarcasticly said "it was a dream come true" on the Nasty Boys.
Never change, Jim. Rest in power. 😊
Jim Neidhart is such a gem! God rest his soul! ❤🙏🏾🕊
Brett's shoot interviews are always so open and honest, i love them. Its rare to see him shooting with the late Anvil.
Later on, add bitter.

Jim neidhart comes across as a sweetheart. A really funny, kind, caring, gentleman with a really funny laugh and warm personality! 😢
I love this guys, i watch them growing up, Super awesome wrestlers, Jim is funny, Brett is super serious man.
Super serious but a dry sense of humor
I love when Bret looks over at Jim, when he answered, "That was a dream come true," to how it was to work with The Nasty Boys. Hahaha
Great clip! So funny to see Bret and Jim chop it up and tell funny stories!

Is that the one Hawk didn't do anything?
Hart foundation and demolition are the two best wwf tag teams of their era.
I could agree with Jim. If anything, The Nasty Boys may have been a little "Green". As for Mike ( Hawk) and of course Joe RIP🙏
